The hotel was clean, modern and the bed was comfortable. The location of the hotel was in a nice quiet area so it wasn’t noisy at night. The staff were friendly and very welcoming and helped us with everything we needed. We chose to do our hike privately and not with a group tour and Edisson (reception staff) helped us organise the private taxi the day before with no issues. We also left very early one morning at 5am for one of our hikes and the hotel organised a packed lunch for us as we were going to miss breakfast. If you are staying in Huarez, i highly recommend this hotel!

And they look very nice. Ana is very welcoming and helpful person, who not just helps, but really cares. Ana offers lots of different trip options and gives perfect recommendations about adventures in the mountains. If I will ever be back to Huaraz, I will definitely stay in Casa de Ana again.

This property is beautiful. The room are very well decorated and very large. Incredible view of the mountains! The owner and staff are absolutely amazing people! They are so attentive. My flight got canceled and wanted to stay near the airport. We also ran out of money because we were suppose to go back home and there are no ATM nearby. I explained the situation to them and said we would take the public bus back to the airport and they said they would take us back to the airport. They even walked us to the restaurant so we wouldn’t walk alone at night. Breakfast was also amazing. ii can’t describe in words how incredible everyone was to us and how clean and big the rooms are. I highly recommend staying here if you need to be near the airport or want to explore the area.

Ricky has a dream to make a lovely, comfortable, friendly place to stay for travellers in Caraz-and he is doing a great job of it. Our balcony private double room was a good size, nice views over town, warm comfortable bed and good hot shower with pressure. Ricky is a terrific host, smiling, happy and wanting to ensure you have the best experience possible. He helped with taxis and tours and was always willing to chat or help with anything. This isn’t 5 star- it is authentic, local guy making a lovely hostel for guests to enjoy.

Ricky is hands down the best host I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, he made me feel welcome and at home. The facilities are excellent—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The shower had reliably hot water (a big plus!), and both breakfast and dinner were delicious and satisfying every day. You can feel the care and love Ricky puts into everything he does. His two friendly dogs and super cuddly cat made the place feel even more like home. I can’t recommend staying here enough—thank you for everything, Ricky!

We arrived to the hotel Casa del Montanista at the most perfect time on our trip for a rest and to regain energy. We was very welcomed by the owners and their family, they was very kind and helpful with everything. They assisted with booking tours for us and ensuring we arrived there safely to the meeting spot at 4am. We felt really comfortable and happy during our stay. We had access to the kitchen where we was able to prepare food for ourselves, our room was lovely, cosy and it had a balcony where we was able to do yoga and watch the sunset over the mountain.
