United KingdomThis hotel is a classic small town hostelry with locals in the bar at night. Our evening meal selected from the comprehensive menu was tasty and filling and the beer cold. Plenty of interesting trophies/pictures/knick knacks adorned the walls and shelves in the common areas. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and the cooked course typical of the region.

Superb view over the sands and the rock outcrops. Only 6 spacious rooms and a large lounge and dining room. Small but clean and refreshing pool. Good meals, made and served by friendly staff. Food was excellent, rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, and the staff was really friendly and helpful. Very nice little pool plus a 2-person sauna (big bonus for chilly nights and mornings). It's owned by a family who have lived there for a long time, so it felt very well taken care of, with lots of thoughtful little additions. We stayed at the Mountain View Villa with all the comfort needed (like Braii/Fireplace, pool) plus a view upon a waterhole were we could observe giraffes, gnus and oryx and a beautiful sky full of stars. We were lucky enough to arrive while the nearby (40km away) lily pan at Sandhof farm was in bloom, so we got a chance to see this world-famous sight the next morning.
