The hosts are super nice and welcoming, they have a beautiful garden which we enjoyed in the morning. The european breakfast with homemade jams was delicious, and the night spa was surprising. We slept in a cabin room, which was small but we expected it from the images. It was clean and cosy. We highly reccommand it!

Fitted with a terrace, the units offer air conditioning and feature a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. A fridge and toaster are also provided, as well as a coffee machine and a kettle.

The lodge offers a hot tub. Filip and Sonya were fabulous hosts-very hospitable and generous with information and recommendations. The shuttle service to Abel Tasman made a day tramping in the park seamless. We enjoyed the accommodations so much we were lucky enough to be able to extend our stay by one day. Pōhara is an excellent location for visiting the Golden Bay and I can’t recommend the Bay Lodge highly enough.

Featuring barbecue facilities, Anatoki Lodge Motel is set in Takaka, 18 km from Golden Bay. Each accommodation at the motel has garden views and free WiFi. Every room has a flat-screen TV with with satellite channels. We loved our room here. We did have the two bedroom apartment and it was so spacious and comfortable. It’s such a sweet touch that they offer you milk for your morning coffee in a little jug. The location is fantastic. You can walk into town in a couple minutes. The town is awesome. Several wonderful coffee shops with delicious food and lots of hippie vibes stores.
