Some people have written in their reviews that there are no shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity and that it is better to stock up on drinks before travelling. It is true that there is no shop nearby, but water is available free of charge at any time of the day or night. The drinks in the hotel bar can also be bought at a really fair price. And actually, you know before you book that you've chosen a hotel in a secluded location, so that shouldn't be a problem anyway. And to be honest, it's the location in the middle of nature on the beautiful beach that gives the hotel its special flair. The food in the restaurant was very tasty and we always enjoyed it. The breakfast was included in the room rate, was very good and you could also choose from different variations. We really enjoyed the hotel and will definitely be back. Thanks a lot for the great days and your excellent hospitality! Oops, I almost forgot, you can also watch sloths and howler monkeys from the hotel. Really cute to watch :)

The accommodation offers a business centre, a concierge service and organising tours for guests. This place is incredible! I would give it 11 out of 10 if it would be possible. We heard and saw a lot of monkeys and birds, it was a really amazing experience that I will remember for a long time in my life. It's like you live in the middle of the jungle, but with all the benefits of a modern world. Interior of the capsule is beautiful, a really spacious shower with a roof window, so you feel like you connect with the nature. All facilities are new and clean. There is a shared kitchen and a fridge that you can use, and a nice pool area. Receptionist was very kind and attentive, and seemed really interested in our needs. A delicious and healthy breakfast was included in the price. Outside the hotel you can find some nice restaurants and beach clubs, and sea is just across the street. Hotel staff helped us with the motorcycle rent, which is only in a 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Bocas town is reachable by taxi in less then 10 minutes and taxi cost only 2 dollars per person! What I cannot put in words is the atmosphere of this place, which is really peaceful and just beautiful.

Guests can have a drink at the snack bar. We had an excellent time at Bird Island Bungalows. From the moment we arrived we were able to disconnect and just be present at this beautiful property. The staff were very attentive and friendly and always looking after us. The views are spectacular whether enjoying them from the deck, the pool or one of the two private beaches. Breakfast was well served and delicious. I'd highly recommend the granola. All in all we had a very relaxing time at Bird Island Bungalows and we sad to leave but we'll certainly be back some day soon!

It is exactly as the photos show with a lovely pool with lots of very comfortable lounges both in shade and sun. No aircon but surprisingly didn’t need it in February. This is a long way from shops or restaurants but luckily the meals here are excellent and even though there is no menu the food is delicious at every meal and varied. We were there for 7 nights but always something different. The boat ride to go anywhere is from $10 per person or $15 to redfrog beach but then you have to pay $5 entrance fee. If you want a quiet but comfortable stay this is the place. Benoit and Fabienne are great hosts

Tropical Suites Hotel is an oceanfront boutique property located in the heart of Bocas del Toro, Panama. Rested on the shoreline, the hotel is a short walk to over the water restaurants, shops and attractions. Fabulous location. We had a private rooftop patio above our over water room and overlooking the pool. Very close to all restaurants in town. Staff were very accommodating and helped us with water taxis and taxis to the popular beaches. Delicious breakfast with multiple choices.

I had chosen the accommodation with high expectations from home in Germany (cold and gray in February) and was really looking forward to it. My expectations were even exceeded: Brian's hideaway is enchanting: it is quiet, the garden and forest and rooms are lovingly and tastefully designed in every respect, the food is incredibly delicious, Brian and his team are extremely attentive, caring and kind and the rooms and all communal areas are super clean. The tolerant, loving approach of Brian and his team is not only evident in their hospitality, but also manifests itself in nature. They are reforesting the existing forest and focusing on diversity and naturalness; the renaturation will bring back animals, and they also rescue wild animals kept as pets. The fact that they are saving areas of nature and networking with neighbors brings hope and confidence and I can definitely recommend a stay at Dolphinbay Hideaway (yes, you will see dolphins :-)).
