Maradona was very welcoming and made me feel at home. I arrived quite late because I had had a car accident that afternoon and also because when I reached Gjirokaster, it was dark and I was unable to locate the place. However, I called Maradona and he was quick to assist. In view that it was late when I arrived, I had dinner at the hotel, which was delicious and great value for the price paid.

Beautiful stay! The room was spotless and in a great location. The stay is in the heart of the old town, just a few minutes from the bazaar and castle walls. No noise or hustle and bustle from the inside of the room though! Breakfast across the road was great, and the staff were lovely. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Girokaster

It’s a new hotel decorated as the old houses you find in Gjirokaster, so it’s very pleasant. The beds were very much to our taste, you didn’t sink in. Everything was clean and the location was so convenient, because you can access the Old Town right away taking in the main street by car (or walk uphill in the cobble stones street if you like). Breakfast was varied, continental and abundant.

It is a hotel run by a family with a stunning high hospitality standard. They all are ambiguously involved and passionately want to make customers happy. For instance they placed a reservation for a bus to Berat for us. Here you get more than a room, here you feel home although everything is quite different compared to our common Western European style. The small hotel with its 9 rooms has been renovated recently (at least the first floor, we haven’t been on the second floor). It is very clean and really stylish. The owner combined skilfully modern and traditional style and shows very good taste by combining stone walls, wood spotlights with turquoise lamps. Here and there is a turquoise highlight, e.g. the doors and their fashionable frames. The whole place is cleverly designed, e.g. there are mirrors in the hall which makes it more space. Definitely worth to mention is the patio with colourful flowers everywhere. Here you get the home made breakfast served. Such a pleasure to start your day there. Plus the breakfast changes everyday. As it is a small hotel and clever arranged it is always quite. The perfect place to relax. On the other hand the city is nearby. Just a three minute walk to the first restaurant. Across the street is the traditional house which you can visit and enjoy a tour describing the life of the olden days. The castle is also close. All in all the hotel is great located.

The hotel was absolutely nice with beautiful architecture.I came with my 2yr old and received an upgraded larger room with a lounge area, city view at no extra charge. The area is quiet and very close to shops/good restaurants,we didn’t have to go uptown all the time just to eat. The breakfast is absolutely divine with a huge variety!..probably the best highlight for my child & I. The room has stunning and comfortable beds,offers slippers,toothbrushes,bottles of water on a daily! & most of all the friendliest & helpful staff I’ve ever met more especially Ali.He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable during our stay.My child received lots of goodies from the staff all the time & allowed to play with the friendly cat.I’d definitely recommend Villa Sharm to my friends.I can’t wait to come back!

The Hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Gjirokaster. The historic city center is only a few steps away. The location of the hotel is simply stunning and allows an excellent view over Gjirokaster. The hotel-staff is extremely friendly and helped me even with a little problem with my car. Breakfast was excellent and was much more than a single person could eat. This was the best hotel I had during my week touring around Albania! Highly recommended!

Gjirokastër has masses of charm and several beautiful old...

Gjirokastër has masses of charm and several beautiful old houses you can visit, plus the castle of course. The Cold War Tunnel is good, and a different experience than Bunk'Art in Tirana. We stayed near the Old Bazaar and walked to all the main sights, which did mean some hill climbing. Furra restaurant in the Old Bazaar was great. One day we drove (1.5 hours each way) to the Butrint Archaelogical Park which is well worth it for people interested in history.

Permet is a nice small city but with very good and...

Permet is a nice small city but with very good and hospitable people with a great history. It is called "the city of roses" because of the multi kinds of roses that grows in the city. Its culinary is one of the strongest points. Rafting, hiking, exploring and the termal baths are some of the things you can do there.

The natural views are crazy in my opinion.

The natural views are crazy in my opinion. Crazy mountains and rivers, streams everywhere. The people are very nice, I read about other accounts but we experienced nothing but kindness and politeness. Its off the beaten track which we personally like. Its not all tarted up and cheap touristic vibe like you get in so many European countries, that you dont know what is real anymore. The seaside is also now only about 50 min away - we took a road to Sarande that apparently was just completed, so we also experienced a bit of the mediteranean vibe.

We really enjoyed our time in Përmet.

We really enjoyed our time in Përmet. The town was surprisingly clean compared to bigger tourist cities – no piles of garbage and no unpleasant smells, which made it very pleasant to walk around. It’s also much quieter, which we really appreciated. We ate at Bar Restaurant Lulishte, and I can’t recommend it highly enough – the food was delicious and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Getting around Përmet is quite easy since it’s a small town, and the beautiful landscapes make every walk enjoyable. For young couples, it’s a wonderful destination to relax, enjoy nature, and take in the peaceful vibe together.

I liked Permet a lot!

I liked Permet a lot! It is a small town, so you see it in a single day but there is a beautiful river passing through it, and it is surrounded by mountains. There is a range of activities to do around Permet like rafting, hiking, canyoning. I stayed 3 days only but I would have enjoyed staying a bit more to do some hiking.
