During our stay there was construction going on, a lift was being installed which is always nice. The hotel being too new was the reason not having a lift during our stay but it wasn’t a problem at all. The room is great, good bathroom, great shower. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The AC worked well. The breakfast was amazing, a lot of options and everything was delicious. The restaurant and the bar accepts credit cards (this is important to mention since in Albania they mostly use cash). We did a couple of tours.
We did a couple of tours. One was a minivan tour showing us the blue eye and Gyrokaster which was brilliant then we took a boat tour down the coast which was definitely not our sort of trip, banging music was spoiling the peace and tranquility, the beach we were dropped at for 3 hours was covered in rubbish. Taxis are expensive but we used a local bus to go to Butrint and Ksamil which was easy and well worth doing. Ksamil is a very beautiful resort with numerous stunning beaches and crystal-clear azure waters. There are plenty of quality restaurants offering delicious food at reasonable prices. The only drawback is that almost all beach spots are paid, meaning you need to pay for sunbeds and umbrellas. The cheapest spots started at around €15 for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella, while more premium locations charged €30 to €40 per set. Luxury cabana-style spots could cost up to €70 per day. Almost everywhere accepted euros, so it was not necessary to exchange money into the local currency. Alternatively, you could pay in euros and receive change in the local currency (Albanian lek). We loved Vlore, the last stop on our travels through Albania, easy to navigate. We stayed in the most magnificent apartment Luxury seaview Apartment hosted by outstanding Mathias on Murat Terbaci Boulevard that long Boulevard was so beautiful with so much going on cafes, shops beached across the road. Drymades beach town is only worth visiting for the beach - which is amazing. Smallpeeble beach with clear clean water. Noting to see og do in the besch area. Only restaurants, minimarkets and beachbars. No shops or small streets. The restaurants are in general overpriced compared to other areas in Albania and the food and service does not follow the high prices. Qeparo is a charming little village with a lovely "shetitore" (promenade) perfect for evening walks along the beach. The village stretches along the coast, offering breathtaking views and crystal-clear waters, though you'll need to walk a few steps to reach the shore. We had no trouble finding a sunbed without reservations, and the food was delicious and fairly priced—highly recommend restaurants Poseidon and Te Stefi! The only downside was the lack of trash bins along the promenade, which left the walking path a bit messy. This is definitely an area that could be improved. The owners seemed to make the effort to provide with help and assistance, despite the lack of quality in the aspects below. For the price you pay in high season which was 45 EUR per night, of course you don't expect luxury, but some basics should be in place: - 1st of all, the photos used in Booking.com were all from the 2nd building they manage, and don't correspond with the room booked at least on 50%. - the power plugs were a hazard to be aware(when you're travelling with a toddler). - the electric stove provided was almost at half meter height, a constant danger for toddlers. - the air con could be put on only by plugging in the plug and it was configured to the coldest temperature, very annoying to deal with it during the night. - hygiene could've improved: closet was dirty on the top, full of dust, the bathroom super-small. - when I asked for a sponge and dishwashing lotion, the owner told me that I was the 1st ever to ask for that. But what truly set this place apart was the hospitality. The owner went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our experience memorable. It’s rare to find a place that combines such high standards of service, comfort, and charm. Hotel Amare has become one of my absolute favorite places in Palasë.
