A special, family-run hotel. Great atmosphere and exceptional staff. We stayed with dinner and breakfast and they were wonderful, thoughtful and varied. I've never experienced such a welcoming hotel. The cozy sitting room with tile-covered stove with carved tables and chairs for a snack or drink was welcoming. Facilities and room was immaculately clean. My single room was positioned that I could hear guests walking up to the top floor, but that didn't bother me. I could hear no T.V or noise from neighboring rooms which is important. Breakfast was top quality with home-made breads and lunch-meat, veggies, hot breakfast, fruit, local honey and jam. The location is quiet and on a scenic walkway.

They were very welcoming. I am pregnant so they upgraded our room to a better one (it was more convinient with my big belly). We had a very good view to the lake and Neuschwanstein castle. Great stuff, very friendly and professional. This hotel has a nice location - the old town in within short reach on foot. Rooms are good, well-equipped. WOW! We had the best time staying at Seehotel Hartung & Ferienappartements. Arriving to this wonderful tranquil spot was like something out of a different world - so stunning! The rooms all face the mountains and lake, which were surrounded by snow and looked like a postcard. The area is full of great places to eat and drink, but also is incredibly peaceful. The hotel had lovely rooms, and the breakfast service was so friendly, with local produce of exceptional quality! We had the most incredible service from Franciscka, who helped us arrange a table at a restaurant in advance (we were unable to call from the UK and they only took reservations by phone). Also, when I had a medical issue, she also helped me find a solution locally. Its rare to be so wowed! I just wished we had stayed longer! We shall have to go back :)

Clean comfortable hotel in a beautiful location with excellent spa facilities. Plus points for us was tesla charger included in cost, we are a family of vegetarians and vegans and we're well catered for. Ate in restaurant for 3 meals, all excellent with great service. Staff very friendly and helpful. We opted for a balcony room for one of us which was amazing with views of neuschwanstein Castle and the lake and mountains. 2 other rooms were without the view but were large and comfortable.

We were only there to see the castle.

We were only there to see the castle. It was a very quick trip so we really didn't explore Fussen. We were there in December, so it was cold and snowy, which was magical and we loved, but didn't spend time outdoors other than seeing the castle. I am sure summertime is much better season to see this darling town!

A nice town, especially during the festive time. The Christmas market was beautiful, almost magical. For the "retail therapy" there are many stores to explore. Culturally also very interesting. The town itself is very clean and safe.

Elbigenalp is ideal for walking/hiking holidays.

Elbigenalp is ideal for walking/hiking holidays. There are several alms within an hour or two hiking, often through spectacular scenery. Height differences range from an easy 200 m to 400 m, or up to 700 m if you have more time and energy. The bus running along the valley allows you to make one-way walks, or to start a walk in a different village. The river Lech is also a peaceful refuge, and it is very pleasant just to sit on a bench or rock beside the river and enjoy the sounds and sights.

Excellent accommodation in a beautiful area for hiking & biking. Hosts were outstanding. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. Plenty of shopping within easy drives, lovely views from all directions. A definite A+.

Füssen is not a typical mountain town with local atmosphere. It is a stop-over for most travelers to visit the famous castles pictures in movies. Hundreds of international travelers pour off the train and proceed directly to the buses to visit the castles. Therefore, the feeling in the town is "weird." // Yes, it's a tourist town, but not upscale or posh. The restaurants are overly-priced. I saw numerous street people shuffling thru the streets and going thru the trash cans! // But, the museum in St. Mang monastery was one of the finest museums I've ever visited. // So, the mountains, museums, brilliant sunshine, Old Town architecture were well-worth a visit. However, the surreal lack of local pride and flair in the town was off-putting.

Fussen was amazing.

Fussen was amazing. So beautiful and small and I loved how quiet it was at nice. Not as bustling and busy as other touristy towns. It was perfect and the views of the mountains and castles all around was amazing!

I would recommend the high wire for an adventure.

I would recommend the high wire for an adventure. The view of Reutte from above is amazing. And the history of the castle ruins gives an incite to life in the area long ago. There are also very beautiful lakes for walks and the alps for hiking and skiing.
