It's definitely not your usual stay — instead of the common commodities think dinner by the fire (making both is especially satisfying outdoors), a shower and a bathtub in the jungle, beautiful territory with a creek, trails and lots of animals (we spent 2 mornings with flying foxes). And the bed in our Bower Hut was super comfy. Highly recommend this place as a couples retreat and a nice base to explore the Daintree area. Do note that there is no Wi-Fi in the outer huts, no power outlets and just a couple USB ports for your phones. But sometimes that's a good thing) P.S. Andy and Netty are very nice people, and you'll definitely meet them and their puddle Rufus when you walk to the reception for some Wi-Fi)

Immersion in the rainforest…just magical. Craig made this stay really special- he went out of his way to share special must see locations and was so kind when my daughter was unwell. I cannot speak highly enough of this experience that was, in very large part, due to Craig’s hospitality

Great place to stay. Loved our little cabin, it was very clean and had evertyhing we needed. Beautiful property in the rainforest with a lovely cafe on site for breakfast and lunch, several restaurants nearby. The staff was super helpful and arranged several tours for us when we asked. I would also highly recommend doing their snorkelling tour to the Reef.

Daintree is OK for a one-day visit.

Daintree is OK for a one-day visit. That is enough time to take in the views of the beaches and to do all the boardwalks. You need to stock up on groceries before arriving if you are self-catering - the grocery options are very limited. There is no swimming on any of the beaches.

Beautiful location, stunning views.

Beautiful location, stunning views. We stayed in large spacious house close to the beach. We took all of our own food as there were excellent kitchen facilities. The beach is stunning. The Daintree area has lots to offer.

We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree.

We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree. The Woolies is great to re stock, we had pies from the lovely organic dough pie shop and were excited to be traveling through on a Saturday as Mossman markets are one of our favorites (and we’ve visited a few!)

Your right between Mossman, The Daintree and Cape Tribulation. Great location to access all the wonderful surrounding places. Whether visiting Mossman Gorge or the markets, seeing a wildlife tour on the Daintree or the many wonders of Cape Tribulation. There all essentially at your doorstep.

Diwan is a one of the oldest parts of the Daintree Rainforest. Just beautiful !!! You need to catch the ferry over the river to get to the northern side to access this location. Need to be aware the cost to catch the ferry back and forth. Many things to do and see on the north side of the river to keep amused.

We started our adventure with a night walk through the rainforest with an experienced guide, which was fascinating. The next morning was spent horseriding, first through the rainforest and then on the beach and in the water. On the way home we did ziplining in the rainforest, which was scary at first because you start at a substantial height but once you get going it was great fun and very safe. Don't miss treating yourself to a visit to the Daintree ice cream company, they grow their own tropical fruit and make it themselves.

Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape...

Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation than Port Douglas, but Port is a very short drive away to be able get to reef cruises and activities there. Mossman is the old town, still with elements of 'country', check out the Exchange Hotel (there is a Woolworths on the edge of town - I wish they'd hide it behind large trees) and a regular market every Saturday (10.00 am - 1.00 pm) in the historic church grounds. It is not overwhelmed by tourism, but the surrounding areas have B&B and accommodation options. Mossman Gorge is an amazing upland rainforest experience. You get one of the mini-busses from the Visitor Info Centre (every 15 mins until 5.30 pm) This takes you to the walking trail. The first part is boardwalk, then an easy bush trail in a circuit. The forest is spectacular, very relaxing to see & hear the water of the Mossman River. Sit on the seating or a rock near the trail and wonder at the profusion of life that fills every space. TIP: Take a towel & wear swimmers, as there is a rock pool about 2/3 of or the way along the bush trail with clear fresh water, safe to wade & cool off in.

I loved how it was close to the beach and very quiet and peaceful. With a little driving most attractions were close by or within half hour. Spending time in the Daintree was spectacular and I found most of the visitors were respectful of the tranquillity. Half an hour to Port Douglas for shopping or spending the day driving up to Cape Tribulation, river cruise, all great adventures.
