Shower was big and the service from the manager was phenomenal as she showed me where to go and exactly what and where everything was. The room was lovely, with a nice view of the river from the balcony. The staff were incredibly helpful and very friendly, both in the hotel and in the adjoining restaurant. The restaurant was also great, we had family meet us there for dinner and everyone enjoyed it, there was a selection of free games for the kids to play in the arcade room too.

Reception and cleaning staff are polite, helpful and friendly.
I asked for crockery, which the reception provided promptly.

Our 2 night stay was very enjoyable. Our room was very nice, comfortable and relaxing. Location was excellent close to the Lake front and short walk from local shops, bars and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good base for visiting the very lovely Blacksmiths beach and Lake Macquarie. Found we could have done a lot more in the local area and surrounding Newcastle and Hunter region if we had more time available.
Recommend checking out Belmont 16s sailing club situated over the lake for a meal.

The accommodation part is a let down. Small dated rooms, very basic bathroom lacking shelf / bench space.
Bed is comfortable but curtains above bed let in lots of light as they are not against window frame so was hard to get to sleep with so much light coming in.
Downstairs pub area and food was great.

The Swansea Hotel, RSL and Workers club have great meals! Public Transport runs to Charlestown and elsewhere. Some great Snooker players once lived there, and it was the location of a scene in Mel Gibson's first movie. Do not swim in the channel because it has a mean current and blue ringed octopuses live there. There are no more boat hires!

Because I grew up in lake Macquarie, I have a fondness for the close proximity of lake, bush and beach. Nothing else comes close to this amount of peace and quiet, its not too touristy, but just busy enough to have a lot of choice regarding food, accommodation and lovely views of the lake!!

Caves Beach villas are excellent for a short stay with your family. You can park your car at your villa and walk everywhere. There is access to the private pool, to Hams Beach, Caves Beach, Quarry Beach and Split Rock. There is a private pool for guest use, and a lovely Bar & Grill on site. The complex is quiet and generally well maintained. We felt safe, relaxed and enjoyed our stay very much.

The house is located directly on the lake and the back wall of the house is glass for a fabulous view. Good quality furniture & well stocked kitchen. Ceiling fans in all rooms & air con in main living area & ensuite. A lovely modern comfortable house. Unfortunately there is no supermarket or corner shop nearby so best to bring essentials with you.

Lovely little park with a tropical vibe. Beautiful views from the private jetty and we were spoilt with amazing sunsets and sunrises. Restaurants & cafes close by with more views and walking paths around the lake.
Our cabin was perfect for a couple, just needing a little TLC. Park was clean and staff friendly and helpful.

Lovely room - shame you have to step in to the shower to close the bathroom door! Also the sanding from the painters had not been cleaned up and there was dust all through the shower and in the bathroom floor

I love the food, the rooms & the outlook - it's amazing for the price. Would highly recommend staying there.
My only comment is if you have trouble with stairs, as theirs no lift to the rooms.
It's a beautiful place for a lovely walk before dinner.

This is a little gem with the best view across the water...
This is a little gem with the best view across the water from each of the waterside rooms. The new owners are currently refurbishing. the rooms are a good size and have all the facilities you require. Cleanliness is very good. Its not a five start property but it is a most welcoming and safe place run by an attentive family. Coles and good eateries are in walking distance. It will become our regular stop on our way further north. We know there will always be continued improvements and other great features to enjoy when we return.
