A wonderful hotel in the perfect location for skiing in Villars (directly across the street from the train to Bretaye). Great amenities, wonderful breakfast, and incredibly helpful and friendly staff. We stayed in an apartment in the Chalet that was pure luxury! We never wanted to leave. We will stay again.

Staff were so welcoming, the hotel & room was super cosy & clean, I felt so lucky to wake up every morning ♥️ The restaurant food was the best food we tasted in Leysin & the couples massage we booked was sensational, not to mention how lovely the masseuses were. Wafo hotel was lovely! A boutique style chalet hotel that is brand new in 2023. The room was clean, bedding of high quality and a territorial view from our room. The common area, desk staff, bar and breakfast room are all in one large space. Lots of comfortable seating with a fireplace view and windows looking out on the beautiful grounds and mountains surrounding the setting. Nicolof and Christoper were great hosts and Sunshine the dog is equally friendly. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk (paved sidewalk) from the bus/train stop which is at the edge of town. A few good looking restaurants and shops are very close. The tourism office is at the bus stop. There are rental shops in town, within a short walk. The train to Villars is easy to reach from the bus stop. Villars is about a 10 minute train ride. Villars is a busy resort area. Gryon is much quieter which was exactly our preference. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful, including coffee any way you like it, juices, cereals, boiled eggs, fresh bread, meats, cheeses and other goodies. In the evening the bar is open with beers, wines, NA beers, cocktails and soft drinks. I will be staying here every time I can return. All positive comments from our stay! Fully recommend this lovely hotel for a visit to the area!

    There is a bunch to do and to see in the vicinity of Leysin. You can take the train and bus to move around. Naturally, if you drive by car you can find a gazillion views and activities within 30 to 60 minutes driving on very good roads.

    A Swiss village with a real mountain feel. La Chaumiere Cafe in the main street is excellent with superb views. Easy to reach by train from Bex, or bus from Aigle, as parking in the town is difficult.

    I love this village so much, please don't visit, the fewer...

    I love this village so much, please don't visit, the fewer tourists the better for me. Selfish yes, but its somewhere you can completely unwind, just use Interrail and jump on the train to anywhere, go for a walk along the beautiful river, go for a spa, go for food down the high street, but don't expect to eat late.

    I stayed in Aigle because I was attending the Montreux Jazz and wanted accommodation away from the manic city vibe, but with easy access. Aigle was perfect. Even staying in Montreux past midnight there was a fast and efficient train to risk me to my hotel.

    Excellent place for a day out in snow in summer. Or, good for longer stays if interested in hiking. We hiked down from Col du Pillon to Les Diablerets. It was great - discovering a waterfall and walking along a melt water stream. Of course, the place offers a lot more opportunities for winter sports.

    The train and buses were co-ordinated and at the same station. It was only a short bus ride to Leysin and the ski lift. The village shop was only small but crammed with whatever you might need. Everyone I met was very friendly and helpful

    Leysin has a very beautiful scenery especially when it is covered with powdered snow,the mountains,the area is very nice for skiing,mountain or rock climbing,hiking.Everything is walking distance to supermarket,ski rental,schools,restaurants.You have options to ride a free bus👌

    We used to visit regularly for skiing & in the summer when we owned a flat in Leysin. Villars is busier with better facilities generally. There was a medieval festival at Ollon that was interesting. Visiting Montreux & Vevey is around 45 minutes. Restaurants are all expensive but the local supermarket was well stocked. The go cart descent from Roc d’Orsay and Parc Aventure are good fun for kids & adults! Booking on line for Villars Mountain Golf course is easy & the first nine holes being the best.

    A very interesting town with the famous Abbey, some caves, lots of walks higher up in the mountains, a great bakery in town (Micheloud), good supermarkets, good parking and very good restaurants. Many historic buildings, artefacts and interesting galleries.
