The staff were friendly and helpful with planning and suggestions. They recommended the Schnuggebock restaurant (only accessible by car), which was a fun experience and good food. The mini bar in the room was useful. The lobby had a good selection of snacks and drinks. The view was fantastic and the sleep was quiet. The location is perfect for visiting the Ebenalp area, which is not to be missed. Free parking.

It was easy to find , James is the best . The room was very clean and comfortable! The kitchen area had everything and you could find what you needed easily. You ca also make yourself coffee or tee or store something in the fridge of your need. We even hit a blanket and a bowl for our dog and it was also very clean. We enjoyed our stay very much. We had a great stay at Hotel B&B Stossplatz! The breakfast, the staff (Katrin and her mother), the service, convenient with a parking space right outside, the proximity to the Appenzell city center, restaurants, train station and more - was really great! We could not have wished for better accommodation during our hike weekend in Appenzellerland! Highly recommended and we will of course return!

Both the room and bathroom were spacious, modern, spotless and had windows. The bed was comfortable, with nearby usb and normal plug sockets. Wifi was quick. Rösti for dinner was delicious, and the breakfast produce was fresh and tasty. Quiet, despite its central location. Free parking in front. Warm welcome from friendly owners. I would happily return!

This place is, above all, full of history. The last emperor of Austria-Hungary, Blessed Charles Habsburg, stayed there with his wife, Servant of God Zita, and their family; the history of the castle is also related to, among others, the French Revolution. There is an old, very interesting chapel next to it. The castle is beautifully situated, overlooking the lake, surrounded by a vast, magnificent park; it has terraces, herb gardens and beautiful plants under the windows. Interesting interiors, especially historic staircase and the Silent Room. Family apartment consists of 2 rooms with a bathroom and a kitchenette; the apartment was very clean, well-equipped, with a nice view of the park and a side view of the lake. Breakfasts are plentiful and tasty. The price is high, but it is a castle after all!

The hotel itself it's very welcoming, decor, staff, ambience, it's really a pleasant place. The spa it's very well preserved and clean, and has everything one could ever need to relax and have a good time. The room was super clean and comfortable, the attention to details like little gifts or personalized welcome cards were the cherry on top! The restaurant it's also a must, very good food and professional staff. Breakfast was on point, a lot of variety and was the perfect way to end our visit to such a lovely place. Will definitely return, its simply one of the best hotels I've ever been!

The hotel is located in a very beautiful area, surrounded by the mountains and a green landscape that makes you think you're in a movie. The breakfast was full of options and really delicious. The bedroom was cozy, very spacious and also with nice views. There is also an entertainment room with a tennis table, a pool table and a cinema for the bad weather days or just for relaxing at night.

Front desk was very very nice, we are a family of 4 and they put us together in the same room. The hotel is amazing just in the Satispark, and great option for kids. Also in the restaurant they received us very weel, even without reservation. Is our second time in the hotel and we will definitly come back.

The abbey complex is the place you want to see if you are interested in history: the museum, the vault and the library are amazing and absolutely worth the visit (and the price, that is even cheap). Getting around the town is easy, both walking and using the public transportation. If you arrive by car, remember that a great part of the center is not accessible, but there are parking areas open 24/7 that cost 20 CHF for 24h.

We stayed in Vaduz at the end of October, a beautiful time with lively Fall scenery. Getting around Vaduz can easily be done on foot. Public transport is excellent. The Coop in the village, a 5 minute walk, was very well stocked and contained everything you would need for a short stay. Excellent shopping facilities in the vicinity. Great place for evening walks with the sun setting behind the mountains.

The village is a small private housing area with schools and a bus service, but if you expect a vibrant city, that's not the case. For my short visit I didn't have time for any programs in the city. The picture is taken one hour before midnight, it looks very peaceful and that's true, indeed

We spent two nights here.

We spent two nights here. The shops seemed to be more expensive than in Germany. Travel on trains also more expensive. We got Bodensee cards for travel in Germany. However it is a pretty area and felt very safe walking around at night.

Wildhaus, by its location and views, is quaint, clean and stunning. Lots of hiking can be done straight from the hotel, or you can take the ski / hiking lifts up to higher ground and do mountain top excursions, with breathtaking views of the mountains. Definitely worth a visit of you are looking for peace, hiking and beauty. There are various hotels in the area, Hotel Sonne has a magnificent menu of Swiss specialties and very acceptable pricing. Wildhaus is small and does not have much in the way of shops, and is linked by various efficient bus routes to get to other towns if shopping is important.

Stunningly gorgeous area with tons of outdoor/mountaineering activities to do. In the winter this would make a killer ski/snowboarding spot. My wife and I had a blast exploring the random mountain roads and trails getting amazing pictures. Just be prepared to spend money because everything is very expensive, we went to a random restaurant in town and spent 40 euro on a shredded beef sandwich to give you an idea of the cost. Most hotels are going to be 200-300+ per night in the off season.

Rapperswil-Jona is an absolutely beautifully pretty little historical town with everything you need. It has an abundance of restaurants of all types, some in tiny little cobbled back streets and many overlooking the lake. The best thing we found during our stay was the superb lake swimming area. There are purpose built changing rooms, life guards, a café, sun-decks, showers and a large protected area of the lake for swimming, plus a couple of floating deck-islands if you fancy a bit of on water relaxing. We swam every morning before breakfast, which was fabulous and really a pleasure once you got in the water. You can walk to the swimming area up through the castle.

Great base for exploring mountains, either within this...

Great base for exploring mountains, either within this resort or using neighbouring lifts. Tannenboden area also benefits from a lift down to the lake, which is great for a soak after a long day hiking! Tannenheim is more suited for extensive downhill mountain biking. Skiing the area would be great if you can handle black and red runs.
