- From $214.55 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,013 reviewsThe hotel is perfect. It’s charming, clean and in a fabulous location between the Solothurn train station and the bridge into the Old Town. We booked two rooms for New Year’s Eve (a single for my teenaged niece) and it was the best value for money. The staff are super friendly and helpful (they made some modifications to our reservations and Daniela was super sweet at checkin and when we got cappuccinos, hot chocolate and croissants after breakfast had officially closed. They have a fabulous coffee machine available to guests next to the gorgeous area to drink and relax. Decor is very pretty! The beds are comfortable, linens are soft, and the rooms are very quiet. Super clean with great hot water and water pressure in the showers. Rooms accessible by elevator, so I will be bringing my older mom here, too. Now my favorite hotel in Solothurn (and my husband is from Solothurn and we’ve stayed in many hotels here). There is also an apartment where you can book individual rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom at great prices on this site. Highly recommended and can’t wait to return.Guest review bySharonSwitzerland
- From $210.13 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.2Good - What previous guests thought, 857 reviewsWe actually did not stay at this hotel but their partner hotel Arte (5 min away by foot), so it was nice that they kind of upgraded us from 3 to 4 starts and did not charge extra for that because it was not our fault (hotel Oltnerhof was closed). Review for hotel Arte: amazing place, good facilities, modern and super comfortable furniture, great bathroom with everything you need... breakfast also has a lot of things and coffee machine is good. The ladies at the reception and at the breakfast restaurant were really nice and helpful.Guest review byMilaLukicSerbia
- From $194.36 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 184 reviewsOwner was extremely helpful and met us on arrival. Location excellent for one night transit through Switzerland. 2 minutes off the motorway and quiet room. Room was large, bathroom huge, with bath and separate shower, bed and linen needs an upgrade but clean and overall excellent value for the price. We didn’t have breakfast, as we had a very early start, but it was included and there was continental items we could have helped ourselves to. Very thoughtful.Guest review byWilliamUnited Kingdom

Beautiful historical riverside town with a superb Cathedral...
Beautiful historical riverside town with a superb Cathedral . It has many interesting old buildings, towers and an Art Museum, (closed on Mondays). It’s a lovely place to wander around, but beware of cyclists approaching from behind with no warning, especially on the footpaths by the river where there are ‘No cycling’ signs, as we were nearly knocked over a couple of times. Eating out is quite expensive in Solothurn, and on a Sunday evening there were not many places open, but we did find a Chinese takeaway with a few tables inside where we had a nice meal. Solothurn is easy to walk around on foot and is quite compact. Be sure to look out for the beautiful Town Clock tower.Guest review bylynndylouUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Beautiful small city in Switzerland.
Beautiful small city in Switzerland. A perfect stop over city should you ever pass through it. Excellent places to eat, a beautiful river running through it and some great shopping. You have to stop by Musik & Vin and pick up some excellent bottles of wine, in particular, buy the local Swiss wines -- absolutley incredible.Guest review byRAFTendyDenmark - 8.0

An excellent base for exploring all parts of that area of Switzerland but requires a car or use of public transport to get to the main sites and scenery. We use it as a great value base for exploring by car and you'd be hard pressed to beat it for quality and value in that capacity.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Grenchen doesn't offer interesting Summer touristic activities. I contacted the Grenchen's Office of Tourism about that, but the person in charge to respond to my inquiries was on vacation, and the employee said that they don't usually get those inquiries (places to visit, museums, tour to the Mountains, etc.) They provided me an email, I sent them my inquiries but no response at all during my long stay. The staff at the SBB (Train Station) was very efficient and helpful. Local and regional bus transportation system is frequent and efficient. In general, the Grenchen's people and store/markets' employees are very correct and welcoming. I will avoid staying again at MOOI apartments due to the ordeal I went through (fraudulent charges)Guest review byAnaCanada - 8.0

I didn't see much of Zuchwil but the location of the property was great. I liked the area. Walking through the streets to the train station it was really pretty and I felt safe. There seemed to be a few takeaways and cafes nearby and a little shop but I only visited one restaurant, the pizza restaurant and it was really good.Guest review byRose - 10.0

Solothurn's Arsenal Museum has the largest public-access collection of medieval and renaissance arms and armour in Switzerland, and is a great mind-opnener to visit. Solothurn is a walled medieval town that suffered the ravages of the Wars of Religion, but now has historic buildings and architecture everywhere. The riverside is a pleasant gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Beautiful town!Guest review byStefan de GrelingFrance - 8.0

Initially the town doesn’t seem anything out of the ordinary but once you discover the old town core, the medieval wooden bridge, the paths and walkways along the river, the shops, restaurants and bars, it really is quite enchantingGuest review byAnthonyGermany
