This is a great hotel if you need to be near the airport. A taxi from airport on meter costs around 25 Chinese yuan (£2.50). The hotel and room are very comfortable and would cost 5 (+) times the price we paid, if located in a European city. The hotel arranged for an (included) shuttle to the airport the following morning for us.

The location of the hotel is at the road side, easy taking didi to everywhere. You don't need to drag your suitcase walk on the uneven gravel road in the oldtown, but you need to walk to the old town for 10 minutes, it's ok for us who likes walking. All staff went out of way to assist, fruit, tea, tasty breakfast, excellent travel booking with super friendly English speaking Joye, sad to leave.

Lovely people, helpful and smiling, always ready to give you the best. Beautiful facilities, big room, and an extra electric heater available upon request (actually it was not even useful since the heating of the room was perfect). And the room was super warm when I arrived as I requested. Very convenient free shuttle to the airport every hour (or anytime yo want for 50 yuans). By far the best option around the airport.

Great location, just 10mins drive from train station and 20mins to airport, a good place if you do transfer / short stay in Dali, because it is a bit far from all the sightseeing place except Erhai Lake. My room is well equipted and has beautiful lake view, which is quite beautiful. Staff is friendly.

Had a really great stay at this hotel. Everything about it was top notch- room was pristine, lovely view, and every single member of the staff was professional (but also really welcoming which I find more important). I especially want to mention Jacky. After we’d already checked out, we realised we’d left something valuable behind in the room. Jacky went out of his way to personally help us find it, turned out it had slipped down that space between the bed and the side table. Could have been a stressful situation, but Jacky made it simple and was very reassuring. He was also incredibly helpful with travel suggestions, and gave us some practical advice which meant we've moved around a lot more easily during this trip. His recommendations have genuinely improved our plans. Overall, this was a great experience, and Jacky in particular has made a lasting impression. We're absolutely going to stay here next time we're in kunming and would recommend this hotel without hesitation. Thank you 翠湖宾馆 and 张先生！

This was a great stay. Tom the owner and his brothers were super hosts. the hostel was empty when i arrived, so tom gave me even better service. He even took me on his scooter with his little doggie to nearby villages. he was able to advise me on where to go and how to do different things in lijiang. he also invited me to have dinner each night with his family or friends. the bed was really comfy and warm. The water was very hot. the room was very big. the hostel is about a ten minute walk from old town, but its far enough away to be quiet for a nice rest at night. I will definitely be back to visit tom and his family in the hostel.

All the needed facilities were provided and some extras, like an electric mattress cover and umbrellas. The hotel is located just 5 minutes on foot from the old town. There is a front desk, which made the check-in easy and provided support during our stay. The host showed concern about our well-being and was very responsive to our requests.

Kunming is a larger city ...

Kunming is a larger city ... I had fun, but found Dali and Lijiang to be slightly more interesting. The flower market was a real eye-opener, I didn't realize how much we're upcharged in Hong Kong! Nice city, and I will return ... it is the gateway to Yunnan.

We spent two days in Lijiang as part of a week long trip in Yunnan province. Staying at the periphery of the Shuhe old town was good choice as we could always walk in. A highlight of the trip was an afternoon at Snow mountain and the chairlift, gondola rides up the mountain and the Blue Moon lake (pictures attached). Lijiang old town is a nice contrast to larger and more famous Dali old town. One regret we had on the trip was not using LIjiang as a springboard to go further north to see the Bai native people and Shangri-La. As a North American, I was unable to rent a car but getting around with Didi is economical and efficient. Near the north gate of Shuhe old town, I enjoyed a delicious yak meat hot pot.

I liked the variety of things to do in Dali (sightseeing and shopping) and its strategic location to Erhai Lake. The variety of foods also was great. Also, I liked the overall weather (when it was not raining). It was real easy to get around as well. I just enjoyed going around the city and taking in all the sights.

SHANGRI LA is a must destination.

SHANGRI LA is a must destination. Actually Yunnan Province is a must. Every town is so beautiful and exotic.. a dream for the eyes and for the photographers! 3 days per town is a minimum, there is so much to see and the people are really friendly... We could have stayed a week in Shangri La alone, just to be able to explore the area more extensively. We'll definitively shall return!

We stayed mostly in the ancient city due to the rain. Could not visit the other locations. While in the ancient city, we realised that the mushroom hotpot and BBQ is everywhere, it’s very touristy. Some bakery looks so good but not worth the try. What we really enjoyed more were the small local joints. There’s some exceptional good coffee places along unpopular streets. Which you may find them online. I was there during off peak season, so it was nice, streets were not too crowded. Everywhere in the ancient city Dali, you can explore via foot, just make sure you have a good pair of walking shoes. I do wish to stay longer and explore the less popular streets and enjoy the weather.

Defintely the prettiest small city of Southern Yunnan!

Defintely the prettiest small city of Southern Yunnan! Worth the detour from other parts of China for it is so authentic. Rather than knock down and rebuild somehow it has survived this tendency for it is a living well organised city, yet is well maintained museum, well worth a visit. Jianshui has retained, by intelligent planning, its character, its old buildings, the links to it's agricultural country side, it's history, with a warmth that is tanglible, with many coffee shops and interesting facades and architecture.

A beautiful place with many places to visit. Weather can be a little unpredictable. Just buy new clothes if you have to. There are many options and an excuse to revamp your closets. Many options to eat from the snacks to restaurants. Payments are seemless and 90% digital. Make sure you download your Alipay and Wechat. Tho google is useless it can still be use as a guide. Overall... Its a cheaper option than US and Europe.

Dali is a working city with lots of natural beauty all...

Dali is a working city with lots of natural beauty all around. The lake Erhai and mountains were easily accessible and well worth visiting. The Three Pagodas complex is another place to visit and experience. Food options are extensive in Dali, from vegan to yak hot pot!

For me this place is over rated .

For me this place is over rated . Firstly this place is very much " designed" to attract tourism. If it is not for the unique temples , buildings and old villages of the Tibetian, their religion influence internal and to the community there which existed many decades ago, the Nepahai Plains, ShangriLa has not much to offer for tourist. Many business commercialise focuses on food and local delicacies. There are not many heritage location or attractive places to visit. While good natural reserves like Pudacao National Park, a big part of it have been largely closed to visitors. Quite disappointed .
