We had the best time here! It’s run by the sweetest family who instantly make you feel at home. From the moment you arrive, with a big, cozy towel waiting for you, everything feels super thoughtful. Every morning, fresh coffee magically appears on your own little terrace, and if you’re in the mood you can treat yourself to a delicious breakfast too. The place is super clean, comfy, and full of good vibes. Such a chill and lovely spot.

Great location - right on the beach and an easy walk to restaurants, etc. Our room was comfortable and clean, and had a balcony with view of ocean. Great restaurant - Roberto's - on the premises. Food and menu selections were very good for both breakfast and dinner. One of my favorite parts of this hotel was all the varied spaces where one could sit outdoors: at the restaurant right on the beach (or up under cover out of the sun); on the upper level where there was a small pool and a great view of the sunset over the water; and at least one area on each floor with a couple of chairs/ loveseat/ coffee table. Highly recommend!

The location is very nice. It is close to the beach, walking distance. The hotel premises is very beautiful and clearly well taken care off. The hotel pool is nice and clean. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, and makes you feel welcome right away. The breakfast is amazing and they have a variety of food for lunch and dinner that are very good! The rooms are good for the price. The bed is very comfortable. Would definitely go again.

Very friendly owner, great fridge and just 20min walk to the main city center. Would definatly recommand and stay again! Just be shure you'll get the exact google maps link before you'll arive of the owners. It's a lomg street.

Breakfast was good had different options. Loved the large pool the best. I don't swim so the pool wasn't extremely deep. Location is perfect next to grocery store and a pizza shop which was handy and delicious. Shower has hot water. Highly recommend staying here.

The hotel is located in the downtown. The room has everything you need. This is a good choice for one or two nights.The hotel looks more like a motel, even the restaurant where you can have breakfast is across the street. But overall this is a good option to overnight.

It is a good place to find a restaurant and nightlife. There are much nicer beaches close by if you are looking to enjoy the water and a nice sunset. Unfortunately the rising costs in Costa Rica are making it less desirable to visit. It is getting run down in many areas and the costs are climbing dramatically.

We stayed at Hotel Velero right off the beach in Playa Hermosa. It was relatively quiet (in the best way!) compared to the neighboring Playa del Coco. The beach was clean, the sand was soft, and the temperature was great. We saw dolphins and great sea birds from breakfast at Hotel Velero. We also had dinner at Roberto's and La Casita del Marisco. I would highly recommend Playa Hermosa to everyone and would love to return!

The resort was nice, pool was refreshing. No premium drinks, a bottle of Crown was $90, and only 1 brand of beer. The food at the buffet wasn't the greatest. Fish was dry, salad dressings were odd or just oil and vinegar. One day I had a poached egg and the yolk was hard and the whites were runny. French toast was hard and tough on the outside and soggy on the middle. You could only eat in the specialty restaurants once for every 3 days of stay.

I strongly recommend staying in the Hampton Inn Hotel near Liberia airport and less than 30 minutes from Coco. The town of Coco is not suited for walking as there are only a few run down sidewalks. Food is excellent although extraordinarily expensive. Weather was hot and sunny but beach was not particularly welcoming with a run down pathway filled with stoners. Water perfect warmth and sand silky, but poor ocean visibility near shore as the black sand was churned up by the waves. Had to walk a long way out to get to water above my knees. No lifeguard and would not leave any valuables unattended.

Hermosa is about 30 minutes from the Liberia airport. This is a less visited beach so you don't have the crowds of others. However, there is everything you need within walking distance. La Casita del Marisco is our favorite sunset dinner spot in Costa Rica. We have stayed in Hermosa since 2016 (we lived in Monteverde for 5 years) and usually stay at Hotel El Velero on the beach. We use Hotel Mangaby as a backup, only a short walk to beach.

It’s a beautiful place if you’re looking to relax and enjoy...

It’s a beautiful place if you’re looking to relax and enjoy sceneries. It’s very Humid there but, worth it. It’s not much of a party place if you’re looking for a younger crowd to hang out and have fun. Also, some of the excursions involve a lot of hiking. So, bring comfortable gym shoes or water shoes.

If you're staying at the Riu Guanacaste, be sure to fly into Liberia Guanacaste Airport (LIR) rather than Juan Santamaría International Airport unless you're prepared to drive for about five hours due to Costa Rica’s poor infrastructure and heavy traffic.

It is a nice small area to stay. Not too touristy. The beach was incredible. Attended a wedding at Cafe Marisco, ate at Ginger. It was fun, pricey. Wonderful whole red snapper at Roberto's. Meals and drink, atmosphere at our hotel, El Velero were great. Beach walking, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and taking a sunset catamaran tour we're the highlights.

We loved the time of year, the rainy season.

We loved the time of year, the rainy season. There were few travelers, and it was hot but not as hot as the dry season. We did not have trouble getting chairs by the pool. The staff was friendly and helpful. The place is beautiful.
