New and clean lodging and restaurant. Food is excellent for breakfast and dinner with multiple offerings. Family offers quetzal tours through the son-in-law Marco. We did see 4 or 5 birds, tour is from road to allow the guide room to scope the surrounding forest. We also did a very long self guided tour of the hills, great trails.

This was the perfect stay if you want to see quetzal. We saw 8 of them over 2 mornings! The owner Luis and his family are very nice. The casita was perfectly comfortable for 2-4 people and even had hot water in the shower! Overall we loved this place and will look forward to staying again someday!

Breathtaking, magical, we were in heaven! These rustic cabins are perched on the valley with spectacular views! We got a cabin with a kitchenette so we were able to brew coffee and make eggs in the morning. Through the management, we were able to book an early morning tour to see Quetzales in the wild, so beautiful and exhiliarating! Nelson, the care taker, along with Jairo, were so hospitable. My impression is that there are many high end accomodations in San Gerardo de Dota, so finding this place was truly grace from God. Jairo showed us around the property, which is a HUGE private nature preserve with a gorgeous waterfall... incredible location and magical place! Even if you don't stay there, I would recommend going on a hike on the property guided by Jairo, he will tell you about all the plants and local wildlife. Quetzales even visit the property by Cabin 3! Oh... and we had wifi!

The property is incredible. The area is beautiful, the tent was extremely clean and comfortable. The bathroom and shower were great. And the restaurant nearby which is the reception for the property prepared the best meal we had in Costa Rica. We would have loved to stay longer. The views from the accommodation are lovely and there is a waterfall a short walk away. They provided laundry service for an additional fee and it was done within an hour. The drive down was bumpy with steep sections so a 4x4 is required but the views on the way down are worth it!

Very cozy, comfortable, very thought through place! We have truly enjoyed it. Although it it very cold during the night this place have very comfortable beds with numerous blankets and a little portable heater. The dining area is very clean and well planned. In addition they have excellent restaurants with birdwatching across the street, which is phenomenal for photographers. The property located in close proximity to scenic hiking trails with waterfalls and forest. The place is very kid friendly, highly recommended

The meals were outstanding, particularly since we are vegetarians and used to getting whatever is available. We were blown away by the elegance, taste, and presentation of the food. Lots of small touches that made everything about our trip special. Also, the hikes on property were absolutely amazing! I've done a lot of hiking in Costa Rica and I've never seen any places that seemed as magical as this one, even with other properties we've visited in the Dota area.

The lodge is right next to the forest with several walking paths to explore for different levels of difficulty. Tres de Junio is also centrally located between San Gerardo and Santa Maria de Dota, thus making it relatively quick a visit to both as well as other National Parks and trekkings (Tapanti, Los Quetzales and Cerro de la Muerte). Plan for at least 3 nights stay.

A great place to stay to enjoy some cooler temperatures, nature, birdlife and find those beautiful quetzals! Altitude is high, around 3000m so be prepared for that as you may have mild altitude illness which can impact the stay.

It is really nice, we went to Savegre for dinner since we had a reservation made on one restaurant there, but I am sure that if you plan the trip to fully stay on Copey you would find a lot to see, walk and do there. If you decide to go and visit Savegre take into consideration that it is a 40min drive

This place is a bird-lover's paradise! And it's nice to feel cold sometimes in an otherwise warm, tropical country. Everyone is very nice, and very nature-oriented. The trees are all primary growth and fascinating and beautiful to see. This is one of my favorite places in Costa Rica (so far).
