Lovely staff with the just right pro-guest attitude, perfectly dosed attention and not overbearing. The room was clean and of a nice size. We particularly liked breakfast. The ambience in the restaurant was very pleasant and the selection of hot and cold food was sufficient. We appreciated the variety of pastries and very tasty scrambled eggs. Although we came very close to the end of the service, everything except fried eggs was still available. However, I am sure if we had asked for some, we would have gotten them, but since the scrambled were still very silky and fluffy, we felt no need!

Brno is the former capitol of Great Moravia and the 2nd largest city in Czechia. There are so many places to visit and explore and so much history. Make sure to have at least 4-5 days to be able to explore. If you are a music fan, do not miss the Janáček Festival in the autum and a visit to Janáček Memorial and the Reduta Theatre, the oldest theater in Central Europe and the place where Mozart performed when he was on a tour with his sister seeking patrons. Dedicate at least half a day for the Špilberk Castle, unless you are in shape (we are not), the hike up to the castle itself takes a bit of time but absolutely worth it. We were there for 3 days and could have spent at least twice as long there to see all that we wanted to see.

It is a great old town with plenty of things to see, especially if you are into historical sightseeing and lovely nature/surroundings. Just make sure that you come at the right time. Due to our trip to the Czech Republic in January, we did stop in Znojmo, but were a little bit surprised that most of the sights have April-October opening time.

We just wanted to see the castle, but it turns out that you can't visit the castle itself - you have to buy admission to one of the exhibitions taking place there. There are several exhibitions, so you also need to buy several tickets... Or you can be satisfied with the opportunity to see a few rooms. On the other hand, the castle itself is not as interesting as its immediate surroundings, which can be seen for free: towers, views, gardens, etc. We came across a festival (probably St. Martin's Day), so we weren't allowed to go to any of the recommended restaurants (we had to have a reservation), but thanks to that we went to one that wasn't recommended - which turned out to be very good. The city has a parking zone throughout the week (including weekends), but the first hour of parking is free. Note: there are few parking meters.

The town was just the right size for a three day visit. We had our dog with us so no museums or galleries were on our list but we were welcome everywhere else. We'd highly recommend Víno Kára (only food available are meat and cheese plates) and Winebar Chatka for their wines (but not for food at all).

Such a pretty old town centre with a square surrounded by lovely buildings. It was full of cafes and shops. Then the large castle loomed over the town from its hilltop position. You can walk through the castle gardens and along the path around the castle to admire it. From there the views over the town and across the countryside were stunning. We also visited the castle of Lednice only a short drive away. Just beautiful!

Brno is a real hidden gem. The restaurants and cafes were amazing (we loved every meal we had), and very cheap too! The Christmas markets were lovely; in particular we enjoyed the live bands at several of the markets. This city has so much charm and character that its hard to leave.
