Fabulous hotel, great for kids and families. Absolutely beautiful meal at the restaurant with staff that went that extra mile both at reception and in the restaurant. Pool for kids was very good and larger pool and spa also great. Loved that there was an adults only pool and part of the sauna/spa that way as a family, we could use the facilities and not feel like we were detracting from singles or couples experience as they could use the adult facilities.

We had chosen to stay at Das Graseck as part of our honeymoon and it was perfect! The access via the cable car was great fun; the location was breathtakingly beautiful; there was a variety of spa facilities available all of which were very clean and well maintained; you can walk to Partnach Gorge from the hotel; the 4 course meal each night was absolutely wonderful! We couldn't fault the food in anyway. What made this stay even more wonderful was the staff; the staff and team at Das Graseck were lovely, especially since we spoke very little German so they were kind enough to speak in English where possible. Additionally we want to say thank you for upgrading our room as a honeymoon treat. The room we had was absolutely stunning, and we were very grateful. Lastly, I want to make a special mention to 'Robin' who was one of the restaurant staff and who served us for our first two nights; he was very polite and patient, very caring as to when we wanted our next meal and whether there was anything on the menu we didn't want. Robin really stood out to us on our stay in his excellent customer service, so thank you.

Upon checking in, we were provided with a Berchtesgaden card each, which provided us with free transport in the area and discounts at multiple attractions, we were also provided a map and booklet showcasing the attractions accessible with the card. Our room was perfect, plenty of space, and a balcony with seating area. The room was cleaned on each of the four days we stayed and the cleaning staff were very friendly when we bumped into them in the corridors. Breakfast was fantastic, with a full continental range on offer, some hot cooked items, and a hot drinks machine. As for location, it couldn't be any better situated unless it was on the lake itself, it's less than a minute walk to the ferry terminal, very close to lots of paths for any walkers, and 5 minutes walk from the bus station if you want to use your Berchtesgaden card to tour the local area. I would also highly recommend eating in the hotel restaurant in the evening at least once. The venison goulash had so much flavour, and is my favourite meal of our 2 week tour of Germany and Austria, and the boiled beef was great too!

I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The private, quiet location away from tourists makes it feel like a true hidden retreat. The design is full of character and quiet luxury, with thoughtful details everywhere. the stone-style walls and the modern, very comfortable room. The spa is beautifully designed—private, calm, and perfect for relaxing. The restaurant brings a warm Bavarian atmosphere with its traditional wooden décor, and the breakfast was fantastic. Most importantly, the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I truly felt at home and will definitely return.

The hotel looks qaint on the outside and this doesn't stand out in the beautiful environment, but on the inside it's bigger then you'd expect and very contemporary. Having breakfast overlooking the lake with the Zugspitze in the background, just makes you feel rich, and I don't even mean merely money-rich. I got spoiled the first few days, always finding parking in the underground parking in the hotel and had to park one evening 400 meters further, but still on hotel owned parking spot. Talk about champagne problems...

The views and the mountains are the reason to come here, along with hiking trails, biking ones as well. Only problem was the train schedule was changed after booking, so it took longer to get there, with less time to spend in the area. The town is not really set up for tourists, car required for efficient getting around in town.

Berchtesgaden is an amazing place for a vacation. There is so much to do with free bus access to hikes and other interesting sites. The town itself offers many dining options, places to visit, and a very helpful tourist info center. Berchtesgaden is easily accessible by train and a stay in a guest house gets you free bus service throughout the whole fantastic region. We highly recommend it as a place to visit for at least several days. We stayed six and could have stayed longer to take advantage of the many beautiful hikes in Alpine National Park.

There are many attractions such as chairlifts, swimming pool, crazy golf etc ,some of which are free of charge with the Visitor Card. Also, bus and local train services are free of charge. Inzell is beautiful, lovely views, restaurants, cafes and activities to do. The chiemgau karte is the reason we can back. We hired bikes, played crazy golf, painted pottery, adventure golf, tyre sliding, indoor & outdoor pools, chair lifts, the buses, trains etc all on the card for free. We were then able to buy drinks/ snacks/ dinners at all the venues. It was fantastic. Ban Thai restaurant, Kreinburg, salvatone, vroni & lindl brauer restaurants were all very tasty. More buses on a Sunday would be better.

Bad Tolz is a large market town situated in the hills and amidst a landscape of great scenic beauty and diversity. I had never before visited this town but I am now very glad that I did. I would recommend this part of Bavaria, about an hour by rail south of Munich, to anyone. It is well worth it and well worth seeing and experiencing. The 90 Euro per night that I paid at the Hotel Leonardihof represented excellent value if only because you have a base right in the centre of this beautiful place, and can explore, on foot as I did, its winding streets and passages and walkways

For us it was the trip, a family reunion and a funeral and memorial for an uncle a trip into the past. Spent many childhood summers and winters here, when my grandparents lived lakeside here. If you like Bavaria and are active, hiking, skiing, swimming, sailing, mountain biking, etc this is a great area. It is also a bit of the Hamptons of Munich, so pricey.
