View from the apartment is why I booked and also the location is fantastic. Very spacious and the apartment has all the modern amenities you need, whilst retaining examples of the old architecture. We stayed on a Sunday (for the lovely Christmas market) and Monday during December and whilst everything closed on Monday, the apartment is a lovely place to relax. It was also clean and warm (with enough heating in place for the cold winter). Lastly, just relaxing and looking out the window is just amazing.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel! The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, with plenty of delicious options to choose from. The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. The location is perfect – close to everything and very convenient. Parking is available nearby, which made our visit even easier. In short, everything was perfect. Highly recommended!

What a wonderful hotel. The room with its nature accents was so calming and peaceful. There are a lot of wellness activities on offer and lounges in the gardens to relax in nature. My room had a separate bedroom/bathroom space to the lounge/wardrobe/desk/maxi bar section. Room had new pine furniture and a big wine/mini bar fridge. The room also had a wellness basket filled with a bathrobe and towels. I recommend booking in for the dinner buffet at the on-site restaurant. I wish I stayed for more nights

The hotel is an old style but very cozy and welcoming and the location is just great, we had the Deluxe room with lake view and the view was just stunning. Good quality and variety of food at the breakfast so in overal I would say that this hotel is 100% worth the money.

We had forgotten that museums and art galleries were closed...

We had forgotten that museums and art galleries were closed on Mondays so we missed out on going to the Ludwig Museum, so an extra day would have been better. The Kolner Philharmonie is definitely worth a visit.

Düsseldorf is a great city the Christmas markets were excellent. Stayed in the old town lots of restraurants and bars, the people are very friendly and very helpful. Public transport is very good and ticket machines very easy to follow and tickets are very reasonable.

We went to Dortmund to combine our visits to the Weihnachtsmarkt in Oberhausen and Dortmund. The Weihnachtsmarkt in Dortmund was well attained and kept us entertained for a few days. The busy shopping street nearby offered great variety in daily activities. No reservation was required for the restaurants although the waiting time could reach up to an hour.

Aachen is a beautiful city with a long and interesting history. We appreciated the magnificence of the city more when it wasn't packed with tourists crowding into the extensive Christmas Markets. We tried to see Charlemagne's treasury on an afternoon when the entrance was free -- but we were told it was not free. Also, the opening was delayed from 1pm to 3pm (due to staff illness), so there was an only a 2 hour window for viewing. Still, it is quite a city and worth your while visiting.

We loved Münster and its people.

We loved Münster and its people. Everyone was chilled and very civilised. It was a vibrant place to visit with a pretty re-built centre. The city is surrounded by a ring of green cycle/walkways. And the bike is KING! We coincided our visit with the Send fair and the spectacular autumn fireworks.

Bonn has not been bombed during WWII, therefore it has the largest well-conserved late 19th century urban area in Germany (Suedstadt). To be mentioned also, the Poppelsdorf Schloss and its wonderful restaurant situated within the Botanical Garden, the Poppelsdorfer Allee and the beautiful Rhine promenade in easy reach.

Winterberg exceeded expectations.

Winterberg exceeded expectations. One believes that you would need to go to Switzerland or Austria to have a great ski holiday, but the truth is a short 4 hour drive from the middle of the Netherlands you are in a place where as a beginner skier you have everything you might want! There might be more challenging slopes, but I did not attempt those this time around, I will surely be back again to see more..

Definitely not a 4-star hotel.

Definitely not a 4-star hotel. First of all, the room lacked basic amenities: no safe for valuables, no closet for clothes, no phone to contact reception, and not even a simple shower cap. A lot of rooms have broken AC and broken lights in the bathroom. Reception people are very slow and helpless. You need to walk from 4th floor to ground floor if any issues as no phone to call reception. They say call on mobile but as foreigner people we must pay for call which is ridiculous because they do not provide service that should be. Do not follow up on what promissed to guests. At checkout, they offered a 20% refund due to all the inconvenience, but we never received it, and no one responded to follow-up messages when we approached them about when we get refund back. Extremely unprofessional. We will never return and will strongly advise others to avoid this place.

The Christmas market in Duisburg is excellent.

The Christmas market in Duisburg is excellent. The locals are friendly and helpful and the city centre has a wide variety of good shops, restaurants and pubs. We particularly liked Cafehaus Dobbelstein in Sonnenwall 8, the Hellas Greek Restaurant on Poststrasse and the Konig City pub in Dusseldorfer Strasse. The railway, Bus and tram stations are on the hotel’s doorstep and the staff in the nearby Tourist Information and travel ticket offices are extremely helpful.
