Great location despite being close to the train station, the room was clean, stylish, and quiet. The shower had good water pressure, and the soap smelled nice. Breakfast was amazing, Jay Jay and the team were very helpful, so now we know the specific kind of cheese that we liked!

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was very cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was very rich, it had great coffee, fresh fruits and fresh baked bread. You also can walk around the premises of the hotel which is just stunning. It's quiet and in the middle of nature. I would recommend to go by car since it's a bit outside of the city center of Strasbourg, you have great parking opportunity at the hotel itself. We had a great experience over all and are looking forward to come again.

Everything that a hotel should be. Better than home, but homely. Quiet, but in a lively part of town. Good restaurants near by, but people visit the hotel restaurant because it's that good. Super lovely staff who can never do too much for you, comfy beds, quiet rooms, fluffy towels, excellent breakfast with freshly squeezed juice and killer coffee and a shower that could take road markings off - what's not to like?

FAQs about hotels in Alsace

A Mouthful of History, Architecture and Food

One of the most important regions in the European Union because of its number of international organisations, Alsace is also the smallest region in mainland France. Stretched along the upper Rhine, this is an area of tumultuous history, great architecture and distinctive cuisine.

The Alsace capital, Strasbourg, features one of the most beautiful European cathedrals and a very photogenic Old Town with cobbled streets and half-timbered townhouses. You can find picturesque castles, villages and churches all around this petite region.

But Alsace is not just known for its man-made structures. It also boasts the low, densely forested Vosges Mountains with glacial lakes, great hiking trails and charming waterfalls. Not to mention its vineyards and the famous Alsatian Vineyard Route, stretching from Wissembourg to Thann and incorporating 67 towns and villages.

A visit to the region wouldn’t be complete without trying some of the famous Alsatian cuisine. Said to be the birthplace of sauerkraut, this is one of the best places to try tarte flambée, a delicious creation of onion, bacon and crème fraiche.

Whether you opt for one of the hotels de charme in Alsace, a stylish apartment or a friendly B&B, Booking.com has a great range on offer 24/7!

Except for our WiFi which was too slow, our stay was exceptional: the rooms and materials were perfect (lots of real oak), the design was new and trendy, the restaurant was out of this world and fairly priced, the wine was local and fantastic, the breakfast for €25 was bottomless and with fresh products (bread, fruits, jam, all kinds of cheeses, ham) and you can get free freshly made eggs and crepes upon demand, pools and jacuzzi were clean, the outdoor area clean, 1 hour massage for €85 was good, the staff was caring. Best stay ever, even got a free bottle of wine to make up for the WiFi problem.

The drive to the property was very beautiful! The snow was just starting to cover the upper mountains. It snowed the day we arrived. The chalet was very cute and clean! There was plenty of seating room for the 3 adults that stayed. For the smallness of the chalet (cabin), it was quite comfortable without feeling cramped. The resteraunt is very good, but is limited on selections. Breakfast is worth the price too. We are planning on coming back in the late spring. We will bring more friends to share this experience.

The property is in a beautiful setting and has a very nice interior design. Everything is clean and the spa team was very friendly and did a great job. Dinner was also nice and the dining staff were very professional and accommodating. When we arrived late around 9:30pm, the restaurant manager, I believe, let us know that the restaurant is closed but they can whip up a charcuterie plate for the group.

Colmar is the magic of the Christmas Season personified.

Colmar is the magic of the Christmas Season personified. Every step is another moment of delight - the town is picture perfect, steeped in history and beautiful architecture, and simply sparkling with Christmas lights and decorations. The multiple markets are charming and offer all manner of delicious local food produce, and local Alsace wines. There are Michelin star restaurants - Maison Rouge was amazing and very reasonable - and the market food is delicious ... Alsaceflett has become a new favourite dish! Hosting the largest wooden indoor carousel in France, in the Champ de Mars (worth a visit with the charming Christmas decorations throughout the park), Colmar is the birthplace of Bartholdi (creator of the Statue of Liberty and the Lion of Belfort) - and home of Mannelle (brioche-style bread, shaped like men) glazed or filled pain d'espice (honey, ginger, cinnamon) - delicious and typical of the area. Colmar is an easy 2.5 hr commute from Paris (TGV), with 1 stop at Strasbourg, and perfectly located if you're heading east to Germany or Switzerland. We could have stayed longer to do day trips to both - but were so enchanted by Colmar decided to just stay in the region. A local bus (the A line @ EUR 2) took us 30 mins to Turkheim, a charming village, nestled in the vineyards, and gave us the opportunity to strolll through the countryside to Cave Turkheim for a delightful wine tasting. Highly recommend a visit to Colmar - for the Christmas Markets or any other time - the people are charming, the town is so picturesque, and the experience entirely delightful.

Eguisheim is one of several quaint, fairy tale villages in Alsace. It's smaller than most of the others but that's what I liked about it. A few very good restaurants. Timothy's brewery owned by a couple with French and American ties, great folks and great beer - a must-visit. Village was laid out back in the day in a circular manner with two "ramparts", fun to just stroll around the outskirts, particularly in the evenings after the crowds have left. You won't find any lively nightlife if that's what you're after but that's ok by me.
