We really enjoyed the hospitality of this hotel, the staff was amazing, the location was perfect for a getaway and the lobby, rooms were so comfy and nice touch of minimalistic. Beautiful old property with delightful gardens backing onto the river. The water falls are a short walk away but the path is a bit rocky and uphill so you need to be reasonably physically fit. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and the staff delightful.

Hotel very beautiful, in a central place of embrun. Room are clean and nice, the owner very kind. It's possible to park a motorcycle in a private box (under payment) just apart of the hotel. We didn't do a breakfast, but I saw the buffet, there was a lot of food!.

The owners were friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home upon arrival. Jean's precious hiking advice was invaluable, leading us to beautiful trails in the area. The incredible dinner was another highlight of our stay, where we had the pleasure of meeting other friendly and interesting guests.     Great hotel worth a detour; we would definitely like to come back and try the spa and the pool. Very nice personnel, and a comfortable room, very comfortable, spotless clean and offering a nice view.     Its history was a surprise, having an enormous cathedral as testament to being an archbishopric covering about a quarter of what is now France, and delivering a pope, all around 1000 years ago. We were there height of season, and the better restaurants were almost fully booked in advance. It pays to plan !

    Lovely village.

    Lovely village. Great location to base for rides around the Alps. Huez obviously, But well placed for Glandon and Madeleine. I was there in the off season on October but still had all the facilities I wanted.

    It is the best ski resort ever.

    It is the best ski resort ever. We have been traveling to different ski resorts in Europe for the last 15 years and this place amazed us with slopes variety. The skiing was wonderful, we did not search for “good slope or best root” like we usually did on previous resorts because there are so many of them that could be called the best :). Thermal SPA is an excellent bonus!

    It's a very nice ski area.

    It's a very nice ski area. Even in a busy week there are enough lifts and apart from 1 or 2 specific lifts the lines remain short. The village itself is also very nice with many shops, restaurants and bars.

    the hotel was on our route into Italy through a beautiful valley. It is obviously a place to stay in the winter when you come to ski but we were there in August. Plenty of walkers around and the views were stunning.

    Well located for easy access to Lac Serre Poncon and the surrounds. Lovely village with good eating options as well as a small supermarket and several boulangeries. Good beaches and walking nearby and a petrol station as well as ATM’s.

    We travelled to Le Bourg-d'Oisans in late May for a cycling trip. The weather was cool to warm, the cycling was fantastic, and the roads were mostly free of traffic. The village is attractive, with a great Saturday market and a good selection of food venues.

    The Ski area at first seemed very limited, but after a few days of working out the best way up the mountain to avoid the crowds it grew on us. The Apres Ski was great the town really does come alive after 10pm. If eating out, make sure you book the night before as you will not get in anywhere on the night. When we did eat out the food and service was amazing. some of the best I have experienced in any ski resort over the past 30 plus yrs of going skiing.

    The people we met in the hotel and sports hire shop were friendly and helpful. The village itself is a very traditional looking French village, but like many of them has very few facilities. In the winter it gets no direct sunshine from mid-afternoon. The Nordic ski runs up the valley to Arsine are lovely and well looked after. The ski area at Arsine is quite lively and convivial, with people gathering there to rest and chat and go for a drink or meal after their skiing.

    This is the place to stay if you are planning on biking in the mountains. Great opportunity to rent and buy everything you need to your cycle adventure. The main street has a really nice atmosphere with plenty of options for casual dining. We found it easy to park in the city, while cycling the Alpe d'Huez.
