FranceWe received a very warm welcome, including our little dog. Lovely terrace for pre-dinner drinks, next to the river. We ate in the restaurant and the chef was able to adapt the vegetarian menu to be vegan. It is so rare to be catered for properly as a vegan in France. It was a delicious meal. Our room overlooked the river and we fell asleep listening to the 'white noise' coming from the water. Exceptional location with some beautiful hikes nearby. We can't wait to go back and stay here again.

This was such a gorgeous place. We stayed in a small cabin with a bathroom. It was very cosy.
There is a lake with ducks and geese. The scenery was beautiful.
The lady at the desk was so lovely and even though she spoke French and we spoke English, she was still able to explain to us about where the cabin was and the entry codes etc.
A lovely night. We would have liked to stay another night.

Beautiful house in picturesque hamlet... super-quiet and yet only 15mins from Foix. The house owners had thought of every-single thing to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They had even put up a gorgeous Christmas tree and tasteful decorations throughout. The owners are super-friendly and we will definitely be returning.

Very nice property, wonderful hosts, delicious dinner. We arrived late, warning the property. They reserved a table for us, welcomed us really great. The air was so fresh, we went for a walk and met a couple of wild deer. The weather was not good, it was foggy, but we still enjoyed our stay

The position is excellent and Niaux is a cute town.
The owner Is superb, welcoming and disponible.
Breakfast Is great, local products like salami, cheese, marmalades.

Lovely area.
Lovely area. Don't miss the Underground River tour at La Bouiche, and the Grotte du Mas d'Azil was amazing though the tour was only in French and you do not get to see the paintings. Pity the Museum opens at 4.30pm and we did not have enough time to visit it.

The St Girons Saturday market was the reason why we stayed overnight on our way from a holiday in Spain. The market has to be one of the best in Occitanie. We had a good meal at a Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant, La Pagode, which we can recommend and there are a number of interesting retail shops which have stayed open despite the problems of the last few years.

We absolutely loved our stay at the chalet in Arignac.
We absolutely loved our stay at the chalet in Arignac. The view from the window was absolutely stunning, our sheets and towels were nice and clean, lots of bed and couch space, all very comfortable and great kitchen supplies for cooking. We enjoyed dining on the terrace of the place when the weather was good. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, the staff were very attentive and came to check in on us to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We hope to be back again one day!

Foix is really lovely.
Foix is really lovely. Packed full of great restaurants, most of which are very reasonably priced. It's also quite small so you can walk to pretty much wherever you want to visit and it's very very French, so chock full of charm. There's a Farmer's market on Friday in the morning at which you can buy the most delicious food and drink for very sensible prices. Will definitely go there again.

We were in France for a wedding in St Lizier, very happy we chose to stay in St Giron as it had a selection of restaurants in walking distance and was a good base to exlore the region. I am glad we had a hire car as was able to drive up to villages in the mountains. Saturday market was excellent. Plus we were lucky enough to stay when they were taking the wild horses throught the town to the Mountains- spectacular!

Foix is a charming French town, a bit shabby, with a large castle towering above it. We didn't make it to the castle bc we went to Cacasonne instead. We ate a a good restaurant called Guarana in the town. They have more modern dishes, but be prepared for cheese! Loved seeing one of the towns the Tour de France races by in person!
