United KingdomBrilliant. The new owners must have spent a fortune on the re-furb of this lovely period hotel. My room (the themed Whisky room) was large with a new, clean and well stocked en suite shower room. The shower was powerful. The bath towels were large. The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows huge, and just the fight combination of soft and supportive. Breakfast selection was just right and delicious. The staff could not have been more engaging and efficient. The location is just out of the town centre so no traffic noise. I would definitely return.

IrelandThe staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly and attentive. The receptionist (?Holly) was lovely when we arrived. She even sorted our last minute dinner reservation which was very welcomed after a day of travelling.
The hotel is beautiful with stunning gardens and surrounded by excellent scenery. Rooms are huge & comfortable with good showers. The restaurant food was lovely and the breakfast excellent.
I would happily stay again.

Super professional and shown to our room something many hotels lack these days except abroad.
Our room was superb spacious and beautifully decorated with attention to detailing especially the bathroom design choices we'd have choosen for our building projects.
We were made to feel super welcome and the staff very attentive.
The public areas again beautifully furnished and recently completed in February we were told.
Our buffet breakfast for starters a good selection of cereals, natural yogurt with berry compote, fruits, juices and bread. We are offered a cooked breakfast of our choice to create.
Definitely look forward to staying here again to get to the Arran ferry a few minutes drive away.
Dogs are super welcome in some rooms.

Visited Ayr for a family 80th birthday, so not a lot of time in the town itself. But visited local pub / restaurant the Fox & Willow, great food and surroundings, the staff are great. I love Irvine, the beach is beautiful and you have facilities there as well which is perfect, especially if you are taking children. I love the wee cafes along Harbour street but my favourite is Small Talk, love this cafe. The home baking is delicious! They also have a gluten free selection of cakes. I really liked Dean Castle and Kay Park.
I really liked Dean Castle and Kay Park. The Dick Institute is well worth the visit, nice to see the Johnny Walker exhibit. My Dad was a cooper for Walkers and brought back great memories. Since I grew up in Kilmarnock, much of the city is familiar so visiting the houses and streets that I frequented were a trip down memory lane. I enjoyed seeing the Burns Monument looking good once again. I have family photos of it being built and relatives enjoying visiting it in the 1960's. Largs in beautiful for the views. Going over too the island takes just a few minutes on the ferry and definitely worth a visit as its stunning. Fish and Chips from Fish works is the absolute best!! If you love haggis, try the viking chip shop for amazing battered haggis. Lots of different shops fro gifts and lots of charity shops if you like hunting for bargains. Beautiful little sweet shop too on the High Street. We went for the Viking Festival and although it was good, I don't think you need to spend the money on the tickets too see the burning of the boat because by the time you have got through the crowds too the ticket area the boat has already been burnt. Food and drinks at the festival stores are expensive but delicious. There are loads of market stalls there too selling all homemade items and cakes etc. The viking village is worth a visit too if that's your thing. Largs its self is lovely on a quite day. There is a large morriosns store within a few minutes drive from the centre or there is also coop and tesco express stores in the town centre. This was our fifth stay at the fabulous Seamill Hydro. Sometimes we have travelled as a couple, sometimes with an elderly parent. We find the hotel to be superb in terms of comfort, cleanliness and value for money. The view across to the Isle of Arran is stunning and the food, both at breakfast and evening meal, is exceptional. The staff at the hotel are amazing and it's nice to see familiar faces when we return.
