Everything; location within the village, the lovely welcoming, friendly and helpful staff and standard of the room. We only stayed one night and didn’t have our evening meal at the Magpies but breakfast was excellent. The menus suggested a very high quality as did the fact that the restaurant was fully booked so make sure that you book ahead of your stay.

The room was amazing, we did take advantage of the spa! All of the staff were wonderful from Ash giving us directions to the city centre, to check in, breakfast, bar, dinner service and checking out. We appreciated the upgrade. Thank you for the highlight of such a wonderful place on our 5 weeks in the UK. We were a couple travelling so didn’t utilise the varied attractions for the kids which looked wonderful. If you are a family with young children this place would suit you perfectly.

First visit. It seems to have been used as an RAF-related facility, and there were many materials from WW2. It was an old building that was kept in good condition and had a nice atmosphere that I really enjoyed. The surrounding environment was quiet and the view was good. I would like to use it again if I have a chance.

I have visited Lincoln before and have a family member there. This time we were on the way to Newark for me to be dropped off for a train going North. The hotel is in a lovely part of Lincoln and has a great cocktail lounge. We went out to eat in a Thai restaurant nearby which was lovely but breakfast and the facility for a morning drink of coffee and tea in our room was poor.

Lovely town, especially pretty at Christmastime with all of the lights and festive feel to it. The town centre boasts beautiful architecture and lots of high end as well as more affordable shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as architecturally interesting buildings. We stayed right in the centre, overlooking the cobbled (mostly pedestrianised) main street and worried that it might be too noisy or busy but it wasn't. Just the right amount of atmosphere but not noisy at all, we will stay very central again in the future. We enjoyed a wonderful stay at The Old Bank Apartments, had a fabulous meal at the Slanted Door restaurant, afternoon tea at The George Hotel, and sampled several of the friendly pubs and cafes. We also ventured to nearby Burghley House and there are many other inviting attractions that we could have visited if we had had more time. Stamford has a lovely feel to it and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

A town full of history and charm, with some amazing countryside in the surrounding area, including the historic city of Lincoln, and also Boston, whence the pilgrim fathers set sail for New England, as they called it, during the early years of the 17th century.

Boston has an amazing history with lot's of historic period buildings. Unfortunately it is now full of young asylum seeking men hanging about in the centre of town. Lot's of the decent shops and many of the pubs have closed down. Such a shame because it could once again be beautiful ! Clear out the asylum seekers, create a sense of community and pump some investment back into the city !

We were in Louth for a highly specific reason: Thomas Kendall preached a sermon at St James Parish Church on 1st October 1536, that kicked off the Lincolnshire Rising in protest against Thomas Cromwell's depredations. This quickly led to the Pilgrimage of Grace, across Yorkshire, Lancashire, Durham and Cumbria. Thomas Kendall was executed at Tyburn in March 1537 for his 'treason'.

We love staying there, the building is beautiful and is warm in winter and the bedrooms are kept clean and the beds are comfortable. I hadn't been to Lincoln before and was really looking forward to seeing the Cathedral, Castle, narrow streets with interesting shops, and finding out about the history. I was not disappointed and could easily have spent more time here. Two days was not enough. The guided tour of the Cathedral is definitely worth doing and the Castle Wall Walk affords great views. Great eateries as well. I would particularly recommend Ole Ole Tapas and the White Horse pub for their fantastic Sunday lunch.
