Lovely room, spacious and tastefully decorated. Bathroom is big and with a nice shower. Loved the desk as I was travelling for wok so it was nice to have a sturdy, large area to work at without feeling like I was cramped in a corner. Buffet breakfast is generous and very tasty, and everyone was very helpful and polite. I asked to check-in early and reception was kind enough to let me do so. Excellent location and lots of amenities around.

Breakfast was delicious with home made granola, and bread with lovely home made jam. The full scottish breakfast was superb. The conservatory was a beautiful place to eat and to view the gorgeous well kept garden (to which guests have access). The house has been beautifully furnished and much thought has been given to the interesting art. The hosts go absolutely above and beyond to make their guests comfortable and nothing was too much trouble, even down to the variety of gins in the honesty bar! Would definitely recommend.

I really appreciate your attention to reducing the carbon footprint of a hotel -- I liked having glass glasses in the room, real cups, very little plastic or one-time use plastic. The breakfast was outstanding and the wait staff, especially Alex in the dining room, were attentive and helpful. Wonderful location, wonderful view, excellent trip !

It is just amazing city. Very much like a from fairy-tale.

It is just amazing city. Very much like a from fairy-tale. We loved it (2 adults, 1 child 8 years). We were there at the festival-time mid to end July (not knowing about this event but it was an amazing surprise and we took advantage of it and visited lots of the events). Since it was also during Tattoo time, the city center has been very crowded, but was not a problem for us. Just expect prices for accommodation to be higher than usual. For us it was worth it. Super friendly people everywhere. Want to come back soon :-) We took the sightseeing bus at the first day - recommendable. And if you have children with you, go to the Camera Obscura, our son had sooo much fun.

Glasgow has a great music trandition and its very lively. But also extremely depressing and of course with a big addiction issue in its streets. It serves for a great start for trips to highlands. If you want to enjoy some parks or museums then visit in summer only. Absolute highlight the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Amazing and free!

Interesting tourist-oriented town with plenty to do in the vicinity especially if you like the outdoor life. A choice of restaurants including the Tavern where there’s good, no-nonsense traditional cooking such as mince and mash, and chicken breast stuffed with haggis served with mash and a warming whisky sauce. The trip up the mountain in the gondola just outside was also a highlight . The view was shrouded in low cloud at first but gradually cleared to reveal a fantastic panorama.

Oban is our place to catch a ferry to the islands and where we land on return. It is a busy town, the harbour and Dunollie being our chief interest the short time we are there, watching the ferries and other vessels sailing off or returning to harbour is always a pleasure. As such it always has an air of excitement about it, the anticipation of a ferry journey amongst and to beautiful islands. Therefore it is always a pleasure to be in Oban.

Stirling is a beautiful historic town with many fun sites to see. I needed more time to see them all. Stirling Castle should have a shuttle service bringing people up to the castle, Very limited parking and not conducive if you have a person with walking issues. Plan ahead. Aviemore has a great buzz about it – a proper gateway to the Cairngorms with a strong tourist vibe that makes it feel lively year-round. The high street is packed with outdoor shops, from big names like Ellis Brigham and Tiso to smaller independents, so whether you’re after hiking boots, ski gear or a new waterproof, you’re well catered for. There’s also a good mix of cafés, pubs and restaurants, which keeps the place welcoming after a day outdoors. It’s the kind of town where you instantly feel in “holiday mode,” with a steady flow of visitors giving it energy without losing its Highland charm.
