This hotel was a wonderful discovery. It is an old coaching inn built in the 1600s and it has been beautifully decorated and is run by the owner and two other middle aged ladies and they run the place like a well oiled machine. We were very impressed. Food was the best food we had during a week in Scotland. We highly recommend this hotel.

Stirling is a great city for people interested in history and craft - the castle is unique and full of treasures, such as re-created tapestries, carving and decoration. The bus station is a short walk from the castle and shopping streets, and there are several park and rides.

Lovely town. Cathedral is beautiful and very interesting. The riverside is also lovely and I would have liked to walk along the riverside walk if I had more time! Museum is also interesting, and there were some really nice little gift shops to browse through!

The town as everything you need, several pubs and resturants, shops, small supermarket (Tesco express opposite property) Co-op the other end of High Street. Tourist Info centre had lots of walking, cycling leaflets and places to visit. A good weeks worth of walking & cycling from the front door.

Aberfoyle is a nice little town with a some nice (tourist) shops . We liked the sheepdog display in front of the Scottish Wool Centre best. Very informative show with different types of sheep, a sheepdog that guides some ducks along a parcours. The show lasts 30mins and is for FREE. Great food at restaurant Fairie Tree Inn. Easy walk (30mins return) to a nice waterfall and a feeding place for red squirrels and lots of birds from the Lodge Forest Visitor Centre. Glasgow in easy distance (45mins by car).

Lodge was fantastic.

Lodge was fantastic. Staff were very welcoming and nothing was an issue. It was nice and peaceful. I'd have stayed a lot longer if I could. Everything you need is literally on the doorstep. Staff at the village shop were lovely and even took our photo as we just got married the day we arrived. Chris was very welcoming anytime we needed anything from the wee shop.

A walk on a winter night, Doune appeared to be a nice country town. Very tidy,no obvious litter lying around. For the size of the town,a lot of privately owned shops and businessess. As my business was out of town, I never seen much more! I will be sure to return, hopefully with more time to explore.

A small village in Scottish Highlands.

A small village in Scottish Highlands. I'd recommend to have a short stop there if you are going more up North. If you need to stay overnight then you will find several hotels and cabins (for rent). There are a couple of good restaurants and cafes. There is a small shop and a petrol station too.
