Beaconsfield is a lovely small village which we enjoyed walking through with its own independent shops and restaurants. We then drove to Bourne End Marina which is the head of the River Thames and is stunning. Finally stopped at Marlow around lunchtime and was very impressed with this town, fab shops, restaurants and bars.

Marlow is very beautiful with a multitude of great places to shop, eat, drink, walk, and relax. It is probably one of the most beautiful towns in England. We were surprised, and even shocked by the very poor service in one of the up-market shoe shops! Perhaps we didn't look posh enough!

I stayed on return from Heathrow airport, with a late arrival. All staff I met were pleasant and helpful, although I didn’t appreciate paying to park. Outside temperature was very low, and I felt that the heating being covered by floor length curtains was an inefficient system. The heating was off on arrival and took ages to warm the room. IiI didn’t like the overbath shower which didn’t adjust. No one ever caters for petite people! I didn’t use the bar as I arrived late and left after a very good breakfast.

Henley on Thames is a vibrant, upmarket town situated on the River Thames, equally brilliant for shopping, lots of attractions and seasonal events like the famous Henley Regatta. From eating out to summer picnics by the river with the bandstand and open air jazz and music festivals. Geared more for adults with discerning tastes, appetites and trendy partying.
