Breakfast was wonderful. Rooms were clean and cozy. Ample parking right behind the hotel and an easy walk to the center of town. Our room also afforded a lovely view of the lake. The front on the hotel has a lovely seating area and garden where my wife and I had an evening drink from the hotel's honesty bar (well-stocked).

We enjoyed our stay from start to finish. We loved our room especially the powerful shower. Upon arrival we had dinner in the restaurant and headed straight to the spa. The spa has amazing facilities, we especially enjoyed the outdoor heated swimming pool. The breakfast was delicious and had on offer a wide variety of different foods. The location of the hotel was superb, it was in the town center but we felt like we really were away from everything. Overall, it was a very relaxing break-away in the Lakes.

The hosts were lovely and accommodating. The room we stayed in was spacious but still cosy and it was incredibly clean. The breakfast was delicious. Bacon cooked perfectly! The location was amazing. Our lake view room was large, and very comfortable. Fabulous scenery, just sit and enjoy the entire vista. A big bathroom with both bath and shower, and a magnified mirror....(I love that for putting on the makeup!) The breakfast was absolutely delicious, 100% to the breakfast chef and staff, all the staff were friendly and courteous and welcoming. We had dinner in the restaurant, again it was really lovely, and the waiter was very helpful in recommending a wine to compliment our main course. Will definitely stay here on our next visit to the beautiful Lake District.

I like Keswick because it has a lively atmosphere and market in the heart of the city. In addition to hiking and walking around the mountains and countryside, you can also enjoy trips to the other towns including Cockermouth, Grasmere, Kendal, Windermere, and Ambleside etc. People are kind and helpful with directions and transportation. The Pencil Museum is a nice and cozy place where you enjoy yourself and learn a lot about Keswick and the Lake Disctrict. The public transportation is convenient, but sometime is late due to traffic and trouble with the buses. Keswick is fascinating and wonderful for anybody as well as for family with kids. Last but not least, dogs are happy and free to enjoy the nature with their human companions as well.

Ambleside is a beautiful place and we cannot wait to visit again. There are plenty of independent shops and eating places. We ate at Dodds which was really good and would definitely recommend. Walking around Ambleside on an evening felt extremely safe. Also traffic appeared to flow very well, although it is worth noting that there is a one way system in place.

Ulverston is a beautiful old English market town, with cobbled streets and many small independent shops. We were a little surprised that the town centre around King St, Queen St etc was not pedestrianised; a lot of large cars whizzing about. Good walk up to the Barrow monument, and of course the town is the starting point for the 72 mile Cumbria Way walk to Carlisle. Would definitely recommend this lovely little town, which is full of character and characters! 👍

small well preserved village 20 minutes on the bus from Ambleside and Consiton, but there are lots of places to eat and spend your money. It is restricted in the centre to delivery vehicles only so it is pleasingly quiet. You can even charge your EV in one of the car parks. There are many walks directly from the village.
