- From US$227.33 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 5,503 reviewsThe breakfast and choice was absolutely amazing. The best we have had at a hotel. It was all fresh and constantly topped up. We had not planned to eat evening meals in the hotel, but the food was so good we ate there every night. The room too was fantastic, with plenty of space. Marc the concierge was very knowledgeable about the area and recommended some great walks suitable for us and the buses to get to them. The receptionists were also very welcoming showing us around the hotel and our room on arrival. The location of the hotel is good too, just a few minutes walk from the center and therefore not too noisy. A few days after we left I realised that I had left an expensive item of clothing behind. The hotel kindly arranged to post this home for me. We usually holiday in the Med but with the high temperatures we now get there during summer, decided to try the UK this year. We had such an enjoyable time will definitely be back next summer.Guest review byRogerGuernsey
- From US$146.54 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 687 reviewsThe hotel manager Morgan really demonstrated exemplary hospitality. He personally drove us out of a storm to the hotel when the trains shut down and the taxis in the vicinity were not in service. He also upgraded our room when the storm affected WiFi in some parts of our hotel and saw to it that we were comfortable and cosy. 10/10 hospitality, and by far the absolute best travel experiences with a Hotel we've had and could've asked for (and it isn't even close!). Choose Beech Hill Hotel and Spa if you're in the vicinity. You'll be well taken care of : )Guest review byOngSingapore

The cottage was in a good location to visit other parts of the Lake District. Narrow roads but not too busy. We ate in the Cottage in the evening but visited the local pub, just a short walk away, for a pre-dinner drink. We bought some wonderful local bacon from the shop. The Shop was surprisingly well stocked. The Cottage is not in Ambleside which was a good thing as there was a Beer Festival the whole weekend we were there and Town was packed. The Cottage is in a perfect location and great for walkers.Guest review byDelythUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I've been visiting Grasmere for many years. It's a beautiful village but is is sad too see so many premises vacant and some of the old buildings derelict. some of the Hotels have closed as well.Guest review byWilliamUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Has a nice period 'feel'.
Has a nice period 'feel'. Lots of one-off shops and very few national chain stores. Quite hilly, which could be challenging in slippery conditions. The promenade provides an excellent, uncluttered walk along the marshy coastline, particularly in good weather. Lots of great, family-run restaurants and 'eating pubs'. Provides a civilised alternative to the popular holiday resorts.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The mountain is extremely picturesque and well worth the technical hike to the top. Glenridding is a lovely village & I could easily have stayed a couple of nights enjoying the pubs and hospitality whilst exploring the beautiful area & swimming in the tranquil, but cols water!Guest review byBannie19United Kingdom - 8.0

Full range of restaurants from A La Carte to take aways - Indian is particularly good! Easy to walk about the town and local area with river Lune just out of the town - Devils Bridge a very popular tourist attraction.Guest review byMikeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Absolutely fantastic town with something to do for everyone. The cruise trip is definitely worth the money would highly recommend. The crown inn was beautiful and the breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. The small shops were full of character and sold practically everything.Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom
