The architecture of this place is mind-blowing, the rooms are very pretty, the pools are clean and offerring a pleasant swim, the breakfast buffet was delicious, and the staff is really nice. The fact that the hotel is right by the beach and that you can lie on the beach and go swim in the pool at the same time sets this hotel apart from most hotels in the Rethymno city. Another great thing about the location of the hotel is that you can walk to the nearby tavernas for lunch or dinner or to the city centre (it's a 35-minutes walk to the old town). We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone.
We also liked the "adults-only" atmosphere - it was very peaceful at the pools and the beach. The hotel and the whole city also feels very safe and there is nobody who would disturb you at the beach (as it is common on some other touristic places).

UkraineWe chose this hotel and did not regret it, the room was clean, cleaning every two days, also the room offered towels for the beach, which is very convenient. I was at the hotel for my birthday, when the owner of the hotel found out about it, she made us a surprise, decorating the room with flowers, we were surprised. The beach is 3 minutes walk from the hotel, there are also many different restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance of 2-3 minutes. On the day of departure we had an evening flight, and the owner allowed us to stay until 3 so, really appreciated that. I definitely recommend this place!

The hotel offers generous and delicious breakfast/brunch, it's perfectly located in the old town, and our host suggested us a lot of off beat restaurants and places to visit and offered utmost attention. We even had an improvised workshop on how to prepare artichokes - everything was done to make our stay comfortable and memorable!

We booked two rooms with sea view - rooms are specious, clean and have perfect view. Beds were also very comfortable. Hotel has excellent breakfast, apart from buffet - everyday the kitchen prepares special breakfast dishes. The stuff were extremely kind and helpful. They helped us for organizing transport to Heraklion and we relied on their restaurant suggestions heavily(which were excellent). We will definitely come again! Savos and Retymno were the best part of our Crete trip

- very professional, kind and helpful team
- strategically very good location (on the main street, between the old town and beach, it takes minutes to go anywhere you want)
- cozy, comfortable, stylish & modern rooms
Hotel is very centrally located, on a busy street with loads of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. It is normal that until certain time it is noisy outside. To me this was absolutely ok and even fun (+ you can always close the window and there will be no noise at all) but I think it is good to know and pay attention when selecting a room, if silence is an important factor.

IrelandJust wonderful! Loved the atmosphere with the cute little pool in the courtyard and my bedroom was beautiful and so well designed. It was small but perfectly formed.
Quality towels bathrobes slippers and a cute canvas bag with towels for beach was great!
I felt so comfortable and relaxed here and will definitely return with my husband.
Great kitchen for those who want to self cater and constant complimentary water coffee tea etc it would be ideal for a private group to book the rooms and have the place together with a kitchen like that and a great front living area.
In all my travels I never met anyone as sweet as the cleaning lady she was adorable with a heart of gold and she works so hard and has the place gleaming! Even without English speaking we could communicate and I loved meeting her.
The manager was a very nice lady with lots of information about the history of the house.
I will be back! :)
Oh and the bed was perfect as was the pillows and good pillows are hard to find in hotels!

Everything was great, hotel is clean, staff is friendly and helpful, all the tram - reception, F&B team is exceptional, housekeeping is keeping hotel clean and tidy. One night we had a problem with laud neighbours, who was having private part on the balcony and was not letting anyone sleep. Night reception attended issue immediately after reported - well done, very efficient.
Food was very good, repetitive, but we always found something we like there - always fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, meat, fish, plenty of side dishes, deserts. All inclusive includes only beer and vine from alcohol - the rest to be paid, but we didn’t mind.
Location is good, just 3-5 min to the beach, many shops, restaurants around, mini golf just across the road, car rental next door, Rethymno 1 hour by food, but also bus available, bus stop is located few minutes away from the hotel (we try to take it once but was full and didn’t stop) so we rather walked there.
The best, what they have in this hotel are 3 massage armchairs at the lobby, you drop coin of €2 there and get 8 minutes of very pleasant massage, love it!
We recommend Rethymno Village Hotel, definitely yes!

We stayed at the hotel over the Easter week, the very beginning of the summer season, and couldn’t be more impressed with how smoothly the hotel was running!
The hotel is well-designed and spacious, there are plenty of social areas for family chit chat and cute alleys for taking a walk. We loved seeing all the palm trees and hearing birds chirping throughout the day.
The staff at the hotel were super friendly, without an exception, and genuinely interested in helping guests have a great time.
There are two swimming pools to choose from: one for kids with slides, another one for adults, and a carefully maintained beach with lazy chairs and a beach bar.
The restaurant is great and operates very efficiently, we never had to wait for more than 5 minutes to get seated, even during the peak time. And I don’t need to tell you all how amazing the Cretan cuisine is.
In short, this is an absolute gem of a place to stay in!

We had the best experience at The syntopia, blown away about the service, soooo good food, drinks, room and hospitality. The Syntopia is really the hotel to go to if you want a relaxing and luxury experience. Big thanks to Michael in the reception for taking such good care of us and made us keep our room full day for our late departure, really recommend to take the all inclusive part, then you will have the big range of drinks during the full day and the food was way over all our expecations. Also Harah from the pool service who always had a smile on her face and kept us hydrated by the pool every day. Rooms are also very high designed with inspiring interior. Highly recommend to book this hotel, we will defintely come back!

It was an authentic top hospitality experience. Beautiful location between the greek mountains in a peaceful atmosphere. You can wonder around The original restored stones buildings of the hotel with its plush garden full of flowers and grown vegetables and fruits , the terrace view of the room on the mountains and the sunset makes the stay so special . When you enter the breakfast room it greets you with freshly baked Greek sweet and sour pastries. The toailetries in the bathroom are made from Greek herbs/oils and smell amazing. The pool is very clean and the loungers are well placed all around. It’s a perfect place to get away from the crowded tourist locations.

The hotel had everything, nice view, many sunbeds, varmpool cold pool and beach at the door. Staff was amazing and very good hygiene. The rooms had new renovation and was beautiful. The food was also amazing with a lot of verity but the best thing was the pizza at evening, big ups to him for best pizza I eat. Even the animation team was very good for organizing activities they had a lot of creativity and both good and strong personalities that makes the days even better to have fun with them. The reception were very helpful with everything. Also the drinks was amazing. 10 out of 10 everything, see you next year. /Agron

This hotel offers perfect value for money. We really enjoyed our stay: the hotel is very convinently located, the balcony view is superb, and the room is very confortable.
The breakfast was good, offering a variety of options.
The hotel's location is very convenient, close enough to Plakias that you can easily walk into town for dinner (great offer). The region itself is very peaceful, with several great beaches nearby.
However, having a car is highly recommended, if not essential, for fully exploring the area, less crowded than the north.

Perfect stay in Crete! Situated a few steps from a great beach and in the most beautiful town in Crete, with excellent rooms and breakfast, fantastic restaurant and bar. But what makes me want to return is above all the staff, all of them warm, friendly and with attention to every detail. Only stayed for a week with an eleven years old, but they made us feel at home. If I return to Crete I will definitely stay at Dyo Suites! Thank you Dyo and a warm goodbye from me and Alexandra! 🤗

We booked this while we were already in Crete and didn`t checked a lot befor booking. When we arrived we were absolutely amazed! The hotel is located in an amazing spot, great views, beach, pools, restaurant and rooms. We were upgraded to a suite and it was awesome, everything clean, the staff was always nice and helpful. All inclusive is definitely worth it, we even decided to stay more days after our first booking. Definitely the place you want to stay in Crete.

We were sadly only here for a quick overnight stay.
We were sadly only here for a quick overnight stay. But during our week in Crete - where we travelled to Chania, Heraklion, and Rethymno - Rethymno was by some margin my favourite destination. Where Chania's historic centre felt as if it had been totally given over to tourism, Rethymno felt more like a substantial town with plenty to explore.

A small vibrant fishing village which offers plenty of restaurants and accommodations. The beach is clean but a little small. Water is clean with access via a short walk from the village centre.
It is quite hilly and may present problems for certain visitors.
Evenings are very lively with many restaurants and some shops.
It is centrally placed for journeys to others beaches and destinations such as Matala, Spili and so on.

The town is just the right size — not too big.
The town is just the right size — not too big. Its rural and local character really comes through; we even watched goat herders at work just nearby. There’s a good variety of restaurants and several shops. For those with limited mobility, there’s a convenient flat sidewalk running along the beach.
If you’re willing to drive a short distance, there are plenty of stunning beaches to choose from depending on the wind direction. It’s an excellent location for beach life and all kinds of water activities. At Paralia Souda, there was also an aid for wheelchair users to get into the water — provided they’re able to transfer into the seat.
There’s also lots to do nearby — one tip is to hike up to Saint Paisios Church or visit the nearby mountain villages with their amazing views towards Plakias (see the photo).

Spílion is a beautiful little town full of charm and character. The stone architecture, natural springs, and peaceful atmosphere make it a perfect place to relax and enjoy authentic Crete. The local people were friendly, the food was delicious, and the views of the surrounding mountains were stunning. A lovely stop if you're exploring the island!

Fantastic peaceful village with traditional architecture, very close to Rethymno. Good selection of restaurants and coffee shops and with direct access to the highway so as to drive to all the main attractions of Crete.

A small (very) village in the mountains marketing themselves...
A small (very) village in the mountains marketing themselves as "eco-tourism " by incorporating their history and agriculture to the modern world. Local crafts, Cretan honey, olive oil and cheese, Sfentoni cave and Wood museum by a local sculptor was icing on the cake.

Beautiful olive groves.
Beautiful olive groves. In October you can watch the olives being picked. Lots of nice and wild beaches. If you want to leave your clothes dry, you can even go swimming naked in some. Diving is also nearby. Classic beach 7 minutes by car. You can also rent a boat there. 2 km away, the man has built a lovely little church on the hill.

Prines is a lovely, quiet little village only a 10 minute drive away from the busy city of Rethymno. If you want peace and quiet, Prines delivers. There is a small shop/mini-market, a pharmacy, and a couple of fantastic tavernas. There's nothing else to say other than it's very traditional and quiet and it's only a 2 minute drive away from Atsipopoulo, which is a slightly larger village with more bars and tavernas.

There is no better city!!!
There is no better city!!! It has absolutely everything you could want. From relaxation to partying. The people are incredibly nice, and the food is the best at Maria's home cooking on Papandreou St. 31.

Agia Galini is a cute little town in the south of Crete, which is always more pleasant than the norih with it's overflowing tourists, traffic jams and windy weather in September. And there are plenty of things to explore: nice beaches, good hiking, old monasteries, remains of ancient towns - lots of history ... but the most enjoyable are the good Greek food, very kind people, peace and wonderful sunsets.
