FAQs about hotels on Santorini
A Greek Island Dream
Imagine a typical Greek island with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and sloping cliffs, and the chances are that you’re thinking of Santorini. Protectively curving around 4 other islands in its archipelago, this volcanic island has fertile ground bringing forth lovely rosé wine and some of the sweetest cherry tomatoes you’ll ever taste.
High on a caldera shelving into the sea, the capital Fira overlooks the cruise liners plying the turquoise Aegean waters below. North is Imerovigli, home to several 5-star Santorini hotels with fantastic views.
Also providing amazing views is the accommodation in Oia across the bay. Cascading down the slopes, the sea of white here is only dispersed by vibrant pink flowers, blue domes and the brown of ancient windmills, all becoming black silhouettes as the sun sets.
Santorini Airport is on the other side of the island and 2 resorts south of it – Kamari and Perissa – have the best, black sand beaches. However, the most visually impressive is Red Beach at Akrotiri where the stunning red colour of the caldera and sand makes the trek down the rockface well worth it. Just time it right to avoid high tide! Also near Akrotiri are excavations of a Minoan era settlement.
Wherever you choose to stay, Booking.com has a fantastic range of B&Bs, apartments and hotels in Santorini (Thira in Greek).

The view from the resutraunt and food was amazing. The staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is a memorable on and I can't recommend this hotel enough. It is far away from all the populated areas and just relaxing.we also booked massages rhere and you definelty need to try this while your there.Guest review byKingAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 234 reviewsWonderful place, located in a quieter area than the busy Fira, but still within a walking distance to both Fira center and Imerovigli. Lovely resort, very spacious rooms, with access to a shared swimming pool (or with a private pool, depending on the room, I was lucky to receive an upgrade!). Excellent breakfast, with variety of options to pick from. And the staff - helpful, friendly, always providing best support. I had a great stay and when I'm back in Santorini, for sure I will book this place again!Guest review byAnnaSwitzerland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 234 reviewsClose to the airport, but not noisy at all. Not difficult to go to Fira or Oia from here (by car). Clean and tidy room. Nice staff. Everything you could need for cooking. Nice pool area. They will help you with renting a car if you need it. Will also provide recommendations and directions. There's also a free shuttle to the airport if you plan ahead with them. Everything was great! I would stay here again!Guest review byDiego BlancoCosta Rica

I stayed 3 nights and managed to do quite a lot, however, I think 1-2 extra days is required to see all there is to offer. I never managed to get to Red Beach which I think I could have managed if I’d stayed one extra night.Guest review byTeaganAustralia - 10

We loved staying in Oia, mid October had perfect weather! The crowds were not too bad expect for when the cruise ships came in, we avoided the town from 10am to around 1:00pm, evenings during the sunsets it gets crowded but it worth it to watch the sun go down, the sky lights up and is so beautiful, you can't miss it. Schedule a catamaran or private boat cruise, we highly recommend getting on the water to see it from the sea. Great shops and restaurants, you have to have the gelato at Lolita's, it's the best I've ever had!Guest review byNoraUnited States - 10

We found it a great location, as it was quiet and had some of the best views of the island. We were still close enough to Fira to visit on foot, and there were good transport links to get elsewhere as well. Plenty of good and varied restaurants, some of which were real gemsGuest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 10

Third time to the island of Santorini. Twice to Kamari. Beautiful beach. Amazing atmosphere. Spoilt for choice for restaurants and things to do. Can be as high or low budget as you wish. The place to leave your life behind and rejuvenate. Solo travel, couples or family get away, Kamari serves all.Guest review byClaireIreland - 8.0

Having stayed two weeks in Perissa, I dare say I know it a bit. It's a great mix of not too big of a town, plenty of groceries shopping spots, Restaurants with some great offers, nice beaches (even though one has to get used to black sand) and cultural spots like a very nice Orthodox Church and some historic ruins if you dare to hike a bit. It's wasn't too crowded either, so if you consider going, do so Early - Mid September.Guest review bySherman SiegeLuxembourg - 10

Liked that it was away from Fira. Fira so crowded. One day 6 cruise ships in Port. We ate 2 nights at Romantica taverna. Traditional Greek restaurant, good food and happy staff. Easy to walk around in you don't mind stairs and uphill. Walk from Fira to Oia 10km, something to do and overview of area.Guest review bySusanAustralia - 10
