There were lots of options for breakfast, including lovely vegetarian meals. We loved the private pool that came with our villa as well as the hotel's main pool and sun lounge area. We thought the location was great as it was close to cafes and restaurants for lunch and dinner.

This palce is wonderful, ths staff are so nice, specially HAMDI, who made sure every detail of our stay was perfect. Location is a bit isolated, but it's great for relaxing. Room and pool were amazing. We loved the food and the restaurant. We rented a scooter to move around the island and had an amazing time.

This place is stunning. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing by the pool, especially with the live saxophone performance as we admired the sunset. The room is beautifully designed, filled with thoughtful details, and features a large tub in the yard, offering a stunning jungle view. The breakfast offered is both abundant and diverse, which I highly recommend. Additionally, the morning yoga session was revitalizing.

FAQs about hotels in Bali

An Island Dream

The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.

The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.

On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen. Tulamben in the east is one of the better diving resorts in Bali, while Sanur is a popular option for families.

Ubud is the island’s cultural capital and houses a monkey sanctuary in its jungle-like landscape. An ancient Hindu temple is found here, but the best-known temple is Tanah Lot, surrounded by water. There are also hundreds of fantastic spas in Bali, as well as meditation and yoga classes that you can join.

Whether you choose to stay inland or by the beautiful coastline, Booking.com has a great range of villas, guest houses and hotels in Bali.

Merusaka Nusa Dua exceeded all my expectations and provided the ultimate resort-style getaway. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the stunning facilities, including world-class restaurants, luxurious pools, and an incredible spa that left us feeling completely rejuvenated. One of the highlights was the direct access to a private beach—an absolute paradise! The sand was pristine, the water was clear, and the entire area was beautifully maintained. Having a private beach also meant we could leave our valuables behind without any worries, making it easy to relax and enjoy our time by the sea. The resort’s attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction truly stood out. Whether lounging by the pool, enjoying a delicious meal, or taking in the tranquil beach views, everything was perfectly orchestrated to create a memorable experience. I’m so glad we chose Merusaka Nusa Dua for our stay. If you’re looking for a luxurious resort with amazing facilities and a beautiful beach, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Kamandalu is located just in the forest with a perfect valley-forest view pool rooms and the hotel is divided into so much small parts that they didn't break the 'inside forest' vibe. It is just in the center and believe me if you see 5km on the map and think that what a deal it's just 10 mins, it is not in Bali. It is probably 1 hour with those tiny roads and traffic. So Kamandalu is perfect location. Maybe you are looking for a newer hotel but Kamandalu is old yes but very good. Cause the newest ones don't have such a good location. We enjoyed the room services cause it was a pool villa so we didn't use the restaurants or common pool area that much but being visited by monkeys in the morning by the pool was exceptional. I loved the view of the room and location the best. Spa services was very great also.

I absolutely loved the location and uniqueness of this place! Obviously like the rest of the reviews, take into consideration before booking that there is a considerable amount of stairs to do to get there, and there is no air con in the rooms. Had no issue with this as we wanted something rustic but just mentioning it for other travellers.

The staff made our stay so special with little touches, such as a free room upgrade and cake in the room on arrival as we’d booked to stay for our honeymoon to sending ginger tea to the room when they found out I wasn’t feeling well. Ubud is a truly enchanting destination that captures the heart of Bali’s culture and natural beauty. Surrounded by lush rice terraces and tropical forests, it offers a perfect balance of tranquility and vibrancy. The local people are warm, welcoming, and deeply connected to their traditions, making every encounter feel genuine. The food scene is exceptional, from authentic Balinese dishes to creative modern cuisine, reflecting the area’s rich cultural roots. Canggu is a party place more than sightseeing. The beach close is quite nice (also for surfing) and in the night you can go close to the beach to visit some bars and clubs. The vibe is constantly there. You can also join some local hostel events and meet people there which is nice. More of a young people place, but always worth a visit.

Seminyak is such a relaxing and vibrant place — great beaches, lovely cafes, and a calm atmosphere that makes it perfect for unwinding. The local people are friendly, and there are plenty of nice spots to enjoy good food and sunsets. However, it was disappointing to see quite a bit of rubbish around the area, especially near the beach and streets. It would be even more amazing if the cleanliness could be improved, as the place truly deserves it.

Uluwatu is much more expensive and luxury compared to the rest of Bali. The place is under a massive construction renovation, there are construction site everywhere so it will be very different in a couple of years. We enjoyed our 4 days there but there is definetly less activities except for luxurious cliff restaurant and beach clubs.

Less busy than some of the other resorts , the beach is pleasant with plenty of shade and sun lounges. There is a lovely paved beach walk which stretches for about 4 km, along which there are bars and restaurants, bike hire is available along this stretch. This is preferable to walking along the pavements with their usual Bali trip hazards and death-traps! At time of writing both sides of the pavements were being dug up and man-sized holes installed every few metres!!! I would definitely choose Sanur over the crowds and mayhem of Seminyak/Kuta/Legian. There are the usual tourist-tat shops and a good selection of cafe, bars and spas.

I loved everything I saw here, just wish I could have stayed longer. I stayed at Prapat Beach, which was close enough to Penida Ferry Port and stunning, with an amazing view of Agung on a clear day. My accomodation was in a great spot and is as advertised. Sari Nadi Beach Stay is only a few k's from the harbour but with traffic, it took around 30mins. I did a tour of West island beaches, which I found disappointing because it was so busy, shoulder-to-shoulder busy! It felt it was impossible to really enjoy it with so many people. The walk down to Kelingking Beach might have been worth it if you didn't have to keep stopping for someone to get their perfect shot! The drive through the countryside was worth it alone though, and if your new to the island, it's a great way to get your bearings for a return visit. Crystal Beach was my pick of the beaches, just don't forget to bring a towel or change to hire one and a bed. Otherwise, you can sit at a table. Overall, I can't wait to go back! One tip, check if there are any days of (religious) observance when you stay. My stay coincided with Nyepi Laut, 'Silence of the Ocean' which means no water activity, great for me because it meant peace and quiet but not if you needed to travel that day.

Legian is the perfect location. There are many hotels along the beach side which makes it extremely easy to access. Legian is an easy stroll to many desirable restaurants and the shopping is amazing.

So good we wanted to stay longer, will definitely be returning. Just such a relaxing place to visit. The beaches on the island were beautiful with clear blue water. We ate out in restaurants and cafes. The Deck was amazing for breakfast, drinks and dinner. Also, Lemongrass was another highlight for dinner. It's only a small island so, easy to get around on scooters, but taxis were easy to come by and reasonably priced if you want to have a few drinks.

Great hotel in the middle of some lovely restaurants.

Great hotel in the middle of some lovely restaurants. Rooms are tired in need of upgrades and painting , but were clean and a very powerful shower. Staff were amazing and a good buffet breakfast with fresh omelette/pancakes. Pool area was relaxing and could do with a few more sunbeds. Didn’t get to the beach but a good shuttle service available. Supermarket and ATM just across the road.
