Very good location close to the train station and the main Malioboro street. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They also helped me with a problem that I had with my Indonesian SIM card. The hotel as such is very new. The room was very clean and spacious. Breakfast was great and delicious with a lot of possibilities for international and local tourists. Definitely recommended.

We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was a lovely big size, with a setee to sit on, and lots of cupboards so we could keep the room tidy. A decent sized desk was also provided. The room had a lovely calming ambience. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored 1960s building. The foyer is spacious and beautifully kept. The breakfast buffet included European as well as extensive and delicious Indonesian foods, with Japanese and Chinese influenced offerings. The hotel staff were delightful, always welcoming and going to great effort to help with any request. Duty Manager Canggih was so helpful throughout our stay. The entire hotel had a beautiful decor, and includes some very large original mosaics well worth seeking out. We used the gym and pool, both well kept and generous sized. Proximity to Ambarukmo shopping mall next door (no road to cross) was a great bonus and we we travelled there often to eat and shop. We were fortunate to have Executive Lounge access with our room, which was such a great addition. It was quiet and beautiful, with attentive staff, and our complimentary cocktails were the equal of anywhere. Another thing to note which aded to the decor was that all of the plants (there were many) are REAL. Delightful!!! AND there were hotel grounds with trees and places to quietly sit, as well as a beautiful old traditional Joglo pavillion and a pool and pavilion where the Sultan used to sit while his wives and children bathed below! This hotel had everything needed for a comfortable pampered stay. Thoroughly recommended!!

The staff were so friendly and generous. They really helped us with everything we needed (a huge thank you). The hotel could not be in a better position - in the heart of the tourist area of Jogja and close to a lot of art, great food options and near the city centre - whilst also offering a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle. We loved our stay here and will absolutely stay here again when we return to Jogja!

This is the 2nd time I stay in this hotel. Everything is just perfect. I love the food, and pool facilities, but somehow the guests do not know which is the private area and which is the public area. The food is amazing, wondering we can have a trip again in the future.

Mount Merapi (you can take a jeep to the summit, but I didn't), Borobudur, and Prambanan Temple are worth a visit, although the entrance fee is quite high for Asia. Maliobor Street is a must-see. Kotagede with its narrow streets, as well as the water castle and the Sultan's Palace, should be on your to-do list. Tebing Breksi might be nice in the dark, but otherwise skip it. I skipped the sights that required a drive of over 1.5 hours (Hutan Pinus Pengger, Jomblang Cave, Timang Beach, Watu Giring). The roads in Indonesia aren't that good. The Central Air Force Museum Dirgantara Mandala required an invitation, which, of course, I didn't have. Strange.

there is an outdoor food centre just nearby, the local supermarket and laundromat are about 10 minutes walking. the location is in the middle between Malioboro street and Prambanan so getting around between both were convinience. If you want to go to a bigger and classy mall it was not that far away as well by using Grab which is much cheaper to go to. Prices for food is really affordable as there are restaurants that are student friendly budget that we can enjoy.

Couldn't say much as it was a village. We didn't explore much outside the resort except eat at the restaurant nightly. The locals are friendly though but that's probably because we spoke Bahasa to them. We tried to cycle around with the free bicycles offered by our resort but it proved too strenuous as the area is hilly! Cycling downhill was fun but I couldn't say the same for cycling uphill.

A lovely city with a bit of culture, beautiful places and lovely hotels, artisan batic shops and a vibrant atmosphere. Wish we had had more time there! Loved the temples and the traditional Ramayana Ballet! And the FOOD!

I don't know what the government problem with the waste...

I don't know what the government problem with the waste management, but seriously Yogyakarta is a tourism city, yet the waste management there is so poor that you can see many waste shelters are overload and cause a bad smell when you passing by. Yogyakarta in 2025 has lost their original etnic vibes. I went there in 2019, and I felt the Javanese ethnic vibes much more dominant then. It such a shame actually. Hope the Sultan will correct this issues ASAP.
