FAQs about hotels in Cinque Terre
Cliff-Hugging Beauty
One of Liguria’s most beautiful areas, the Cinque Terre are 5 UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages dramatically positioned on the Mediterranean coastline.
Each has a train station, but the most exhilarating way to visit the Cinque Terre is on foot. It’s not easy at times, but is definitely rewarding. The route starts (or finishes) at Riomaggiore, the southern-most village, home to a range of accommodation including a few Cinque Terre hotels on the beach.
The easy road between here and Manarola is called the Via dell’Amore, or Lovers’ Lane. Colourful Manarola houses hug the rocky cliffs overlooking the turquoise water below. The next village along is Corniglia, the only one not by the beach, but which offers panoramic views from its hilltop position.
Next is Vernazza, arguably the most picturesque of the 5, spread over a narrow promontory jutting into the sea and with a castle tower at its tip. Still very much a fishing village, it is centred around its small harbour and beach.
The longest beach is at Monterosso al Mare, the last town on the trail. Due to its location and easy access, it is home to what are possibly the best Cinque Terre hotels for families on Booking.com. However, whichever village you choose to stay in, you can expect wonderful views and fantastic food.

- From US$171.67 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 91 reviewsRoberta and his team were super helpful and flexible. The outdoor area was a blessing, a great place to sit and read a book. The location was sensational with a 3-minute walk to the smaller free beach, which I loved. There are plenty of little restaurants to eat at again, a 3 minute walk away. A very secure place with walking distance to everything and yet quiet in the evening. I loved it so much I was lucky enough to extend by 1 night.Guest review byLauraAustralia

La Spezia is a lovely town with lots of good bars and restaurants. We based our selves here to travel to Cinque Terre by train and also to Port de Venere. I would recommend and like to visit againGuest review byEdelIreland - 10.0
The biggest (?)
The biggest (?) of the Cinque Terre towns with far more to do and see than the others. Confusingly split into two, connected by a pedestrian tunnel. The only downside was that weather conditions stopped the ferries (and boat trips) running.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Levanto was the best place to anchor a visit to Cinque Terre. After visiting each of the small towns, we found Levanto to be a good place to return to in the evenings. Being a bigger town, there were a lot more options available for everything: groceries, restaurants, beach, gelato!, laundry, etc. It was a very friendly family centered community. Kids were out playing every day, people were riding bikes, and the town square was always busy with activity. It was just absolutely charming.Guest review bySusanUnited States - 10.0
Riomaggiore is a vibrant town.
Riomaggiore is a vibrant town. Loved being outside at night with the restaurant sounds and bars playing music. It felt safe to walk around on my own. Enjoyed the harbor view and proximity to boat rental and tours. Beach was nice and small and not too crowded. Ferry is right there, too. Highly recommend staying in Riomaggiore.Guest review bySusan CleereUnited States - 10.0

All of the restaurants were absolutely OUTSTANDING! The very freshest seafood. And all of the homemade pasta was so very delicious. Leisurely pace. However, it was very crowded the 3 nights we were there. But being such a beautiful place I can certainly understand why !!Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Picturesque, relatively small and quiet compared to the other cinque Terre towns. Centrally located so I could begin day walks in both directions. Best not to carry heavy luggage up the hill from the train station (around 380 steps) - use the bus… only 1,50 Euros but expect to wait 15-30 mins at peak time. The walks to Vernazza and on to Monterosso, and also the walk to Manarola are magnificent, just be prepared for lots of steps.Guest review byJohnAustralia - 10.0

Deiva Marina is a nice smaller town by the sea, which is very clean. The town lays in the valley surrounding by green mountains. There is an excellent train connection through coast, you can comfortably go to Cinque Terre, La Spezia, Portofino, Genoa.Guest review byRadkaCzech Republic
