The rooms are practically furnished, very clean, and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen equipment is adequate. The beach can be reached either on foot in about 15 minutes or by car. Guests receive a ticket for beach access, including two loungers and an umbrella, for free. The sandy beach is stunning, miles long, and clean. There are free, secured parking spaces directly at the resort. For stays of more than three nights, a cleaning service is offered every two days, with towels changed and beds made. The surroundings are very quiet, with a nighttime quiet period starting at 10:30 PM. The Wi-Fi also worked very well. The reception is nice and accommodating, and check-in and check-out are uncomplicated. There are some excellent restaurants in Tirrenia. We used an app called GPSmycity to do an introductory walk and saw quite a few places in which there were few tourists as well as some where they were all packed in. Sadly, we only had enough time to take a quick look at anywhere. On our walk back to the station to fly home, we also came across a large wine and food tasting festival that we hadn't been aware of. A beautiful little town to vitit in one day but a tourist trap in some ways.Mediocre glass of wine for €9 and platters with mediocre cold cuts and cheese platter. Let me give a little advice to the many tourists who want to discover Italian food: GO TO THE SOUTH (I want to say that I am not from the south), it's a little weird to see so many tourists eating pizza in Tuscany. What I really liked is their local “ little salty” beer. Of course there many beautiful places not very far from Volterra worth to visit: Siena, Certaldo, San Gimignano with much nicer sorroundings (obviously it's my personal opinion).Guest review byCarloItaly - 6.0

Were there off-season: very few people, many places closed, lots of free parking space everywhere! Rather complicated access to the beaches. Beware of leaving bikes, even if locked in remote places, the tyres of our bikes had been punctured, probably in preparation to be stolen later at night. A truely well kept secret in the heart of Tuscany. Ethan’s Bar is across the road to this Airbnb. Great cocktails. Also a few steps out of the door are a variety of fabulous restaurants. There is also a good walk up to the two towers on the hill and easy access to the Via Francigena walk. Located on the ground floor of the Tower di Frederico - is a Michelin rest. The city of Marina di Pisa itself is not so much worth seeing, but the beach is amazing for a suburb of Pisa. The water is so clean and blue, we really enjoyed. There are also very good restaurants in Marina di Pisa and excellent ice cream. I can recommend the restaurant "C'era una volta" which is close to the hotel. We had a lovely stay at the hotel.
We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The staff were so attentive and helped us with our travel plans to Florence by train. They even went to great lengths to help us with a toll issue, following up with us when we returned to Ireland. The location is perfect to explore Tuscany, as well as Pisa and Florence. The area is so peaceful, with no sound of traffic, only the birds in the morning. Very clean and lovely decor. A lovely city and so compact you can walk everywhere. Highlights were a walk on the city walls that takes you around Pisa where you get a very different view point. Plus it’s less crowded. About 3.5kms which ends near the river, then an 20 minute walk back. But you can meander, have a coffee or an gelato on your way. And of course, the leaning tower that is so famous! I would recommend getting a combined ticket to see the tower, the cathedral, the Baptistry and the camposanto etc Amazing architecture and artwork. I had been there in winter some 30 or 40 years ago, disliking it. Was I wrong: Volterra is outstanding. The view over the Tuscan countryside is breathtaking. The Albergo Diffuso Volterra is magnificent, and their vegan restaurant absolutely worth a visit.Guest review byMauroNetherlands
