FAQs about hotels in Apulia
Rich Legacy and Natural Beauty
One of the richest archaeological regions in Italy, Puglia has received the influx from Greeks, Romans, Goths, Lombards, Byzantines, Normans and Spanish, amongst others. Together with an unusual and amazing landscape, Puglia is an Italian must!
With lower mountains than the rest of the country, it mixes fertile tablelands with dry landscape, rocky plateaus, and green hills. Kissed by the Adriatic and Ionian seas, its crystalline waters, rocky inlets and small sandy coves, well deserves a stay in some of the Puglia hotels on the beach.
Don’t miss the beautiful promontory of Gargano, nor Lecce’s stunning Baroque historic centre. Alberobello’s ‘trulli’ stone houses are a picturesque must. Being Apulia’s capital, Bari offers a number of cultural offer highlights as well as a lively nightlife, also famous in the summer resort of Gallipoli.
Its food is probably one of the best kept Italian secrets. The spaghetti with sea urchins is a typical delicious dish, while the ‘burrata’ cheese melts in your mouth with its creamy centre. You should also try the black olives, the ‘orecchiette’ pasta, and the amazing wines!
Whether you look for Puglia hotels with 5 stars, B&Bs or private villas, don’t miss the wide offer available on Booking.com!

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 536 reviewsI can only speak in superlatives—an outstanding paradise! I have never experienced such a clean, fresh hotel in my life, and we travel 3–4 times a year. The staff and service were exceptional—so attentive and intuitive, they truly have hospitality in their fingertips. We were traveling with our child, who has Down syndrome, ADHD, and autism. Our meals were served in a quiet corner, and the care we received was so unique and heartfelt it brought tears to my eyes. We can never be away from home for more than 72 hours, as routines are essential for our child. Even though we never really have a “vacation” in the traditional sense, because our child requires constant attention, this time we genuinely felt the vacation spirit. At first, I was worried there was no buffet and that meals were à la carte—but it turned out to be amazing. Our child, who is very selective with food, received meals perfectly suited to his taste. The food was divine! Beautifully presented, it felt like true fine dining. We had full board, which I absolutely recommend. Golf carts took guests to and from the beach—even though it wasn’t far, this was a tremendous help for us, and we made full use of it. The beach was super clean and fresh. All textiles were of luxurious quality and smelled divine—but subtly so. Perfect in every way. There was a small shop in the area and an ice cream bar as well. We flew into Bari and had a rental car. A huge thank you to everyone who welcomed us—from receptionists, waitstaff, lifeguards, housekeeping, and chefs to the amazing guys assisting guests at the front desk—thank you all so much! You were incredible!Guest review byJanosSweden
- From US$934.24 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 22 reviewsMe and my boyfriend stayed for a long weekend in May at this beautiful, truly private, magical place and we had the best time. The people, especially the host, Adriano, were extremely kind, warm and welcoming, it was hard to leave. The property is stunning, a dreamy place with history, the rooms we saw (we had to switch at some point) were very classy and beautiful. The perfect place to charge batteries, also, incredible food. I am absolutely thrilled and will hopefully be able to come back some time!Guest review byAntoniaGermany

We have used Bari as a starting and jumping off city to the rest of Puglia. When we are there we wonder why we don't stay longer! The Old City has retained a neighborhood feel that some others have lost. Still children playing in the streets, laundry on lines, the old Nonna gathering to talk about the old men, the old men gathering to talk about whatever old men talk about! Good restaurants and a beautiful port to stroll along. We'll stay longer next time!Guest review byBillUnited States - 10.0
The city was charming.
The city was charming. Too many churches to choose from, so we hand picked a few. Good and lovely restaurants and cafes. Tried and really liked Caffe leecese. A short car or train ride to a number of uncrowded beaches.Guest review bymargieUnited States - 10.0

Monopoli – the most beautiful town in Puglia! This charming coastal gem captures everything that makes Italy unforgettable. From its winding whitewashed streets and historic old town, to the sparkling Adriatic Sea and hidden coves, Monopoli offers the perfect mix of history, culture, and relaxation. Lively restaurants and cafes, local shops and stunning architecture make it a place where you instantly feel the warmth of Italian life. Stunning cliffside town with a vibrant vacation scene. Dramatic beach set between the cliffs. Beautiful pedestrian-only streets filled with wonderful restaurants and shops. Ostuni is a beautiful city located near so many other unique neighboring cities. The people were wonderful, helpful, and so many go above and beyond to understand your needs or questions. While staying in Ostuni, there was a really nice celebration for the city's patron saint, Saint Oronzo, that they had a parade for, and fun parties in the historic city center.Guest review bySilviaUnited States - 10.0
Alberobello is a beautiful town but gets super busy.
Alberobello is a beautiful town but gets super busy. If possible visit early morning, or late evening to miss the crowds. The night view is as wonderful as day time with the Trullis lit up. Plenty of parking - either on the roadside approaching the town, or in the shared car parks. Lots of places to eat - all reasonably priced and comparable for the areaGuest review byHelenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Otranto city itself is not special for us and we had two BAD dinners there - imagine bad pizza in Italy! We much preferred the coastline and beaches in the surrounding area. Would not return to Otranto, will try Santa Maria di Leuca next time and do the coastal path and visit the western beaches.Guest review byRebeccaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Vieste is really interesting and pretty old town and the people are friendly. Good standard of restaurants and not overpriced. There's a port where we hired a boat or you can get a boat trip. Some parts are very steep but worth walking up for the views. We stayed on the beach, a 25 min walk in along the beach but worth it or there's a bus for 2 euros p.p Would definitely recommend it :)Guest review byJonnyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Brindisi is a good place to stay.
Brindisi is a good place to stay. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants and the waterside is very pleasant. It is an ideal base to explore Puglia as the transport links are good. The rail service to (for example) Lecce, Polignano a Mare is cheap, clean and comfortable.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom
