Great for a one night stay. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train/bus station. English speaking staff. The restaurant was great. Very friendly and the private onsen was easy to book. The room was also spacious! We had a wonderful time! And they held our luggage after we checked out so we can sightsee.

Everything-the staff were very polite and helpful. Very quick check in. The room was spacious, very clean with very comfortable bed. Breakfast fabulous. The hotel’s location is perfect-very close to the castle and all important viewing points. We had access to the lounge club which additionally made our stay very pleasant.

JAL hotel is amazing and has exceeded our expectation. The room was nicely sized but even better thing is that it was designed for practical use. The bed is comfy, the bathroom has a sperated shower and a bathtub glassdoor up from the toilet and sink area- pretty big comparing to the standard Japanese hotel bathroom size. The breakfast was great, many option foods ranging from traditional to classic American breakfast.

The breakfast was lovely, we didn't have the Japanese breakfast as we came down late but the western style breakfast which was delicious. There was also lots of choice from the continental section (the tiny pastries where delightful). The room was spectacular and well worth the money. They'd thought of almost everything we could need and it was extremely spacious. The staff where very friendly and spoke good English, which given our very limited Japanese we where very grateful for. We only stayed for one night but the morning we woke up it was rainy and for those staying they had umbrellas that could be rented. This might be quite common but it was the first time we saw it advertised. It is a little bit of a walk from the station, so bare that in mind, but it isn't too long. There's also lots of small restaurants in the vicinity which is very handy.

The hotel is wonderful. From Kanasawa Station, it takes 7 minutes by taxi and a quarter of an hour by bus and many shuttles. The castle is 8 minutes and the information centre 50 metres. The room is spacious for a Japanese hotel and the washing machine is simply superb. An iron can be brought right away if you ask for it. The staff are very nice.

It was a long drive up the Noto Peninsula and we had to drive along a narrow road through a short stretch of forest before we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful facade of the hotel. The entire stay was a pampering experience. The view from the room was amazing. Both dinner and breakfast were exquisitely prepared and served in private rooms. We had a 50 min private bath which was extremely soothing. There were small zen gardens, libraries in a corner, and cupboards full of yukatas of different colors and designs. These were very pleasant to the eyes. I also liked how courteous and attentive the hotel staff were.

i loved the room view. i wanted a beachside hotel that i could hear the ocean from, so this was perfect. the hotel is directly on the beach so it is super accessible even for late night or early morning walks. nice & spacious hotel. lively with a lot of facilities. staff was kind and patient. if you arrive from kawazu station the walk to the hotel along the beach is a very lovely 20 minutes. since it was raining when i checked out i appreciated that it has a regular shuttle to and from the station. dinner at melesea was incredible and well worth the price. breakfast was a standard buffet.

We stayed at the cottage B. It is a very spacious place with 3 bathrooms including one large bathroom with jacuzzi bathtube. There are 4 sleeping room. One sleeping room in the second floor having a window that you can see fuji mountain, the city and lake. The kitchen is large and having enough space and facility to cook for I thing 20 persons. Large areas for barbecue. The hotel has shuttle bus to take you to nearby supermarket to buy food! Our family really enjoyed the time we stayed.

Its was really big, the Onsen was amazing. Our room was a japanese-style one and it was super cool, big and comfy. There are so many useful amenities as well in the room and the Onsen. The souvenir store is super big, you can get everything. The location was super nice as well, we walked to the Open Air Museum which is beautiful. The city center was also very close by. The breakfast buffet was incredible.

It’s clean, very well equipped with heater, cooking utensils. The owners are so nice and friendly. Language may be a barrier but they tried really hard to accommodate all our needs. The place is slightly secluded which is perfect for quiet vacation but you can still go to town centre by just taking 1 train to Karuizawa station and the owners are nice enough to drop and pick you!

Nagoya is a treasure for eating and shopping.

Nagoya is a treasure for eating and shopping. LOTS of great restaurants. There's the science museum, the Toyota museum, and Nagoya Castle. No "authentic" neighborhoods to explore, though there is an ethnic shopping street near Kamimaezu Station. There are lots of traditional Japanese coffee shops "kissaten" to relax in if that's your thing. If you venture away from downtown there are places like Shirotori Gardens or Arimatsu on the historical Tokaido Road which was a center of indigo dyeing. No restaurants though in the 800 m length of the neighborhood.

Small, but perfectly formed.Fantastic boutique hotel in a brilliant location. We booked a superior family room, although there was just the two of us, knowing from previous trips to Japan that space is at a premium and for longer stays a bit more space makes a big difference. The breakfast, traditional Japanese style was one of the best we’ve ever had, simple delicious and beautifully presented. Last but not least the staff, welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Shizuoka is a hidden gem. You can stay here and get to many sightseeing destinations by rail (day trips) and come back to the relaxation of more laidback location. Locals are very pleasant and friendly, not so jaded by the over tourism of Kyoto and Osaka. We speak very limited Japanese, but were welcomed and managed in small local restaurants and Izakayas.

There are lovely restaurants, good shopping and it’s easy to get around. The old part of the town and the temple are beautiful. Quiet seaside town with no tourists apart from us. Easy to get to from Osaka. Stayed in a traditional ryokan (tattoo friendly). Spent the day walking along the harbour to the ropeway up to Atami castle which had several different art displays and museums including an adults only one and a great view of the coast. Away from the beach things were pretty steep so a car might have been a sensible option
