Very nice new small hotel. The room was decent size with Japanese standards. Very nice design, a lot of light wood. Good location, walking distance to the station( if you can roll your bag), walking distance to the samurai district. Nice small restaurants around. The staff was very welcoming, they offer free udon in the evening, all drinks in the room are free including beer. They gave us a small goody bag with sweets at the checkout. We would definitely stay there again.

We only stayed a night and booked a Premium room last minute because of a change of plans, but did not regret at all! The staff is wonderful and the facilities are amazing, ranging from a very large double bed, face masks / skin care products, a great design and lots of space.     This was a wonderful hotel and I would go back in a flash. It is right on the beach. We were there in February so the pool was closed but the onsen was open. Went there in the morning and last thing in the evening. The rooms are nice and big. Try and get a seaside facing room to enjoy the beach and the rising sun. The staff were friendly. All in all a great experience. Also there is a free shuttle bus to Kawazu town but there is also a train station near the hotel.

    It’s clean, very well equipped with heater, cooking utensils. The owners are so nice and friendly. Language may be a barrier but they tried really hard to accommodate all our needs. The place is slightly secluded which is perfect for quiet vacation but you can still go to town centre by just taking 1 train to Karuizawa station and the owners are nice enough to drop and pick you!

    Amazing View - Direct view of Mt Fuji at the front door. The property is huge and plenty of space for my kid and my friend's kid to run around. The Location is quite remote, around 10 10-minute drive to the nearby town. There is no convenient shops or food stores nearby. The nearest Family Mart is an 18-minute walk away.

    Kanazawa is a very interesting place to visit.

    Kanazawa is a very interesting place to visit. It has a similar charm as Kyoto, but with fewer crowds. We found it easy to get around the city by bus or on foot. We had 2 days here but could have stayed for 4 days or more.

    Great visits possible in this area - the Ropeway (cable car) up into the alps, the Onsen, Hida Village was superb and had loads of additional activities for children, and Takayama was a complete surprise with is bijou shops in the beautiful old quarter. There seemed to be plenty more to do including museums etc.

    I've been extremely lucky, I was in Niigata after a snowstorm and I found an amazing scenery of beaches under a white carpet. The fisherman market is an experience you should not miss, delicious food and crazy cheap bill. Try to drive the coastline!

    Shizuoka is a hidden gem.

    Shizuoka is a hidden gem. You can stay here and get to many sightseeing destinations by rail (day trips) and come back to the relaxation of more laidback location. Locals are very pleasant and friendly, not so jaded by the over tourism of Kyoto and Osaka. We speak very limited Japanese, but were welcomed and managed in small local restaurants and Izakayas.

    People there are very helpful and courteous. It is very clean, and uncongested. Quiet and peaceful, unlike the other cities. I highkt recommend pairing Toyama and Tetayama, i.e. 3 and 2 nights respectively . Simply amazing.

    Quiet seaside town with no tourists apart from us. Easy to get to from Osaka. Stayed in a traditional ryokan (tattoo friendly). Spent the day walking along the harbour to the ropeway up to Atami castle which had several different art displays and museums including an adults only one and a great view of the coast. Away from the beach things were pretty steep so a car might have been a sensible option
