First off, location is impeccable, right next to the station (but you don't hear any noise pollution, it was so peaceful!). The setting is so beautiful and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The food was extremely good as well, and you have free snacks and drinks at all times of the day. The room was clean and spacious, and the outside balcony bath was an amazing experience. I cannot comment on the public baths because we have tattoos and they are not allowed, but we went to the private onsens and they were magical. They have 3 private onsens, and we never waited as we always found at least one vacant (we went in the afternoon and at night, they stay open till 1am). The hotel also provides free Yukata for men and women (Japanese casual kimono) so you can get a truly immersive experience walking around the hotel grounds and having breakfast or dinner wearing a Yukata! Almost all the guests wear them so no need to feel shy about trying them on. We went in Spring during sakura season, so while the hotel was sold out and full of guests, we still felt the authentic experience of being transported back in time with a ryokan-style experience and we have nothing but praise for this Hotel!Guest review byMarshalMalta

Yokohama is a great city.
Yokohama is a great city. We took the train from Narita airport, which was easy and quick.The harbour and park areas are breathtaking We had 3 days, could have had an extra day. Transport by bus is easy with information given by the hotel and cheap. Taxis not so much! There is plenty to do and see, especially if you like walking. The New Hotel Grande is right next to Chinatown, which was great for food, but the restaurants serve a lot of cold food, so you need to specify. If you go on a cruise to or from Yokohama, stay a few days before and do heaps of sightseeing, then relax on the ship after.Guest review byMarianneAustralia - 10.0

Great place to explore and recharge at the same time. We spent only two days and would spend a few more days if we knew how great this place is. Plan your day early as everything is quiet after 5pm. The time spent travelling from/to places is considerably longer than any other places we stayed in Japan. We bought the Hakone 2 days free pass and is well worth it. We liked that the city was only a short train ride to many other cities like downtown Toyko and Yokohama. Very nice city, plenty of historical sights, shopping, restaurants. Make sure it is not a national holiday though, the local train was absolutely packed! It might not be for everyone, have to take one stop to Ofuna to transfer to other JR lines but very convenient visiting Kamakura and Enoshima. Plenty of stores around Fujusawa station for shopping. Our stay was excellent for me, location is near to public transportation (train) good restaurants are walkable and convinient stores too. The entire hotel is clean and offers good, delicious breakfast. Room was clean. Comfort room is kinda small but clean. Everything is excellent for me except the bed and pillows are not so soft.. because I was expecting a very soft pillows and bed but aside from that I enjoyed staying there.
