This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. Contemporary Elegance: A new hotel with impeccable taste. Spacious and Well-Equipped: All the amenities you could possibly need from a well-appointed kitchen, complete with a coffee machine, to a convenient washer/dryer. Fantastic Facilities: Onsen(you might find a better onsen, but this is not an onsen ryokan), a well-equipped gym, and multiple inviting lounges to unwind. Ideal Location: Cose to the ski resorts, right across a convenient store, and within a 5-minute walk of delis and restaurants. Exceptional Staff: They went out of their way to assist me with various requests, including arranging for a book delivery and helping me book activities, even though I had made those arrangements independently. Plus, if you visit Niseko during green season, Setsu is the best choice as many other hotels in the area can feel a little deserted.

The peoperty is very comfortable especially the rooms were amazingly devided! The bathtub with mountainview was devine. The restaurants were one by one amazing. The little cafe is as well a plus. They could add a little general story in the hotel, however when i asked for a band-aid they imediately brought it to my room. I could for ever how everything was amazing!

We stay at 2 bedroom suite and unit is well equipped and spacious. I am surprise it have Miele kitchen appliances. All rooms have full height windows looking at the amazing ski slope and Mt Yotei. And it has openable windows on the side to allow fresh air if you want to. The best feature I think is the bathrooms floor heating most.

Everything about my stay with Dave-san and his wife was fantastic! If you have come across this as an option for your accomodation, book it! You will not regret it. Especially if you like to be in a peaceful area away from the hustle and bustle. Dave-san runs a shuttle to and from the resorts each day so getting around isn’t an issue. The breakfast is delicious!

The Hotel Kanronomori has everything one needs. The hotel staff is very attentive and professional. We particularly want to compliment T Ayana, who kindly assisted us with numerous arrangements and calls until we were completely satisfied. The hotel provides ski rental and ski lessons. Thanks also to Leo for making our ski lessons so enjoyable! There is a free shuttle bus to the nearest ski station. The food is excellent and varied at all times. There are many more activities and facilities such as live music at the evenings. The surroundings are mesmerising in winter, and when looked at from the hotel! We had a superb stay, and a very good part of this feeling is thanks to the hotel facilities and more importantly to its staff. Thanks to you all!

Absolutely outstanding and elegant. The multicourse Japanese dinner and breakfast included in the hotel were top notch and a real pleasure to enjoy before and after skiing. The onsen was immaculate and so refreshing, including two heated outdoor mini pools with warm water even during falling snow. Truly surreal and even though it's expensive, I'd say it's completely worth the price. Thank you for a lovely time!

Hotel was beautiful especially in falling snow. The outdoor onsen had just the right feel, good water, great vista view and an intimate setting. Service was impeccable, we were well taken care of, dinner was amazing. Its one of those ryokans that you can space out for a long time.

The kind of tourism is very little local and much foreign, particularly Chinese. Prices are very steep. Rental service providers are great. Pick the flexible restaurants and don't get ripped off by thee must do pre selection of the most expensive courses. You would need a booking at least one day prior to the day of the restaurant visit. There are enough good and not very pricey restaurants in Niseko. Food trucks are also a good choice, and you can enjoy the food at your hotel or chaleet in all privacy with a good bottle of wine,e avoiding the dire restaurant wines. Keep an eye on the weather. When it is windy, snow (and that happens a lot) a lot of slopes are closed, but lift prices remain the same.

It's probaby the least time of the year that you should go to since it's like a ghost town. Most restaurant, resorts and activities are close or under renovation but if you like peace and quiet or your probably a local who has a car and drive around then this place is a nice place to visit. But I enjoyed the weather this time. View is always beautiful and admirable. One of the best places I've been to in my lifetime.

Kutchan is a delightful town that offers the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and local flavor. Nestled near the base of Mount Yōtei, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking year-round — we are admiring snow-covered peaks. A unique highlight is Mishima’s Shibazakura Garden, where vibrant pink moss phlox blooms in spring with Mount Yōtei as a stunning backdrop. We drive around the mountain to get perfect views. As a group of food lovers will enjoy exploring local eateries offering everything from hearty ramen to Kutchan’s famous jaga-imo (potatoes). Don’t miss Tsubara Tsubara for a comforting bowl of soup curry. Kutchan is more than just a ski town—it's a year-round destination full of charm, flavor, and natural beauty. Highly recommended for travelers looking to experience authentic Hokkaido.

Niseko is so popular now that's it's becoming overcrowded. People can get very frustrated at ski queues when others push in front. Think about staying in Kutchan nearby. Supermarkets there offer great produce at affordable prices. Also think about hiring a car as public transport sucks big time in rural Japan.

Kutchan town is not the ski resort.

Kutchan town is not the ski resort. You have to take a 15-30 mins bus or taxi to nearby Hirafu, Hanazono, Niseko Village or Annupuri resort, which makes up the "Niseko United" ski resort. However, the town is a gateway. A few restaurants is around but they are a bit spread out. There's 2 tasty BBQ restaurant 10 minutes walk away. The Kutchan train station is the gateway to/from Otaru and Sapporo. However, the train is a drag. An 1+ hour plus to Otaru and total 2 hours to Sapporo. Same for bus. Public transportation is lacking at night time. Check schedule or prebook taxi is recommended during night hours.

Australian perspective: Niseko has some great skiing and a lot of terrain compared to other resorts but it is now really busy (although not from a lift queue perspective - you rarely have to wait more than a few minutes except first lift) having been 'discovered', so in the town, getting restaurant bookings can be difficult and gen there is a queue for the bars. It is also quite regulated compared to other resorts. Go out of bounds at your peril because if ski patrol catch you they will confiscate your passes. Understandable I guess because with the increased numbers they are getting more people going out of bounds who prob shouldn't (no avalanche gear etc.) causing issues. This isn't such an issue at other resorts though. Have been there 4 times and its not quite what it was.
