- From US$699.76 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 153 reviewsThe room (I had the basic level option) was gigantic for Japan, with a huge picture window and a view to die for. To say I was blown away upon arrival would be an understatement. The hotel is spacious and uncrowded. I suspect it caters almost exclusively to the Japanese market so some instructions were on rather informal notes, or simply only in Japanese. The rate is breakfast and dinner included but also includes unlimited alcohol from 7pm and coffee/tea/refreshments all day with an icecream bar in the late morning and afternoon. The silence and sleep quality was superb as was the bathroom with shower.Guest review bySimonSpain

I sadly only got to visit around the station area both alone, with a friend and some locals and it was the highlight of my trip. The huge shopping area starting from the station extends for many blocs and has everything you could ever want from arcades to second hand shops to all sorts of restaurants and cafes. The malls next to the station have all your sort of branded shops like Gundam Base and Pokemon Center. The nightlife is pretty nice and the few places we hit while wandering with a friend from Sendai were very tasty and everyone's super friendly!Guest review byAlessandroItaly - 10.0
Aomori people are very kind and friendly.
Aomori people are very kind and friendly. I like to remind visitors to remember of Japanese manners. Please don't make trash on the road. Please don't shout in any situations. Please make sure not use handphone calls in the train and buses. Thank you.!!Guest review byNumata - 8.0

Morioka is apparently famous for different types of locally produced noodles. I ate at two different restaurants, both were tasty with the usual exemplary Japanese customer service. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from if that is your thing. Morioka is a pleasant spot with mountain views from the central city. I visited in winter there are a few nearby skifields. I imagine it would be gorgeous in spring and autumn.Guest review byIanNew Zealand - 8.0

We parked at Times Parking next to Crown Plaza hotel and the parking lot charged us 3200 yen for over nigh parking. We found not place to clarify why such high as the signage said maximum was 700 yen for over night. I booked a counter table in 长屋酒场, but they offered sitting on tatami with a few small tables... eating for 1-2 hours... just not comfortable. we left early and found not so good experience.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

There are many more sights to see which we couldn't fit in. Having an interpreter guide was great. The Hanamiyama cherry Blossom Gardens is a must see. The whole valley and mountain were covered in new cherry blossom - spectacular, we were there on April 2, 2025. Easy to get to by bus.Guest review byPeterAustralia - 10.0
The hotel location was great.
The hotel location was great. It is directly across the street from the train station. It was very easy to get around by walking or taking the JR rail. We had an amazing view of the street below. There are many convenient stores, restaurants and eating places nearby. Shopping is everywhere. We went to “Round 1” entertainment center for arcade games. They also have bowling, karaoke and a kids zone. There is a free red bus from the station or you can take a 15 minute walk to get there. In the same parking lot we shopped at “Don Côté”, Japan’s biggest discount store.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
There is more than meets the eye in this city.
There is more than meets the eye in this city. Online guidebooks/tourist information is limited. Many of the sightseeing spots are spread out, so you need time to go from spot to spot. There are some of places not featured well in guidebooks that are still worth seeing, so plan a little extra time when you go!Guest review byHenryUnited States - 10.0

Hon-Hachinohe has far more to offer than we could fit into our three-day visit—we truly wished we had stayed longer. The Korekawa Jomon Archaeological Museum was exceptional, offering a fascinating look at the area's ancient past. The Tanesashi Coast was another highlight, with its beautiful and easy-to-navigate hiking trails. In the center of town, we explored the Hachinohe Portal Museum, known as ‘Hacchi’—a six-floor space that blends cultural center, artist studios, and local exhibits. The staff there were especially welcoming and helpful. We didn’t have time to visit the Art Museum or the History Museum, Maybe next timeGuest review bysherylUnited States - 10.0
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Metropolitan Yamagata!
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Metropolitan Yamagata! The location is absolutely perfect—conveniently connected to the station, making it easy to explore the city and surrounding areas. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and relaxing experience. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. While their hospitality was excellent, I did find that a bit more fluency in English communication would enhance the experience for international guests. That being said, their warmth and willingness to help more than made up for any language barriers. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend Hotel Metropolitan Yamagata to anyone visiting the area. Looking forward to staying here again in the future!Guest review byDela CruzAustralia - 10.0
Iwaki is a beautiful quiet city.
Iwaki is a beautiful quiet city. There are many restaurants with Japanese food. There are wide food markets. There are many hotels. Transportation to Iwaki is fine. You can learn about the Japanese style of life. You can also visit the towns close to Iwaki.Guest review byCartasJapan
