Location at the lonely beach near Pottuvil Point was beautiful and also way less crowded with the surrounding farmlands. Chilled hide-out compared to party-tourism at Arugam Bay main beach. We’ve even seen an elephant at Pottuvil Point. Staff and manager were super friendly, extremely helpful and took care that the place felt like home - and hands-down: best hotel food in our entire Sri Lanka round travel - looking forward to receiving your Dhal receipe :)

Everything is perfect. It’s a great distance from the centre of town, easy walking and far enough away to be out of the hustle. The family is so nice and extremely friendly and welcoming. I think it’s the best place in Arugam, for price, location, the room. They also make delicious food.

The hotel is absolutely new. Our room was spacious, fresh, and very clean, with a nice and well-maintained bathroom. If I ever visit Arugam Bay again, I would definitely stay here again — out of all the hotels in this price range, this one is the best! The hotel is run by a very polite and kind family who made us feel welcome. The location was excellent — on the main road, within walking distance to cafes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and just a 10-minute tuk-tuk ride to the beach, but you can also walk to it (20 minutes) It was quiet at night, and we had a very peaceful stay. There’s also a lake next to the hotel, where elephants sometimes come to drink — a beautiful sight to witness. All guest rooms are located on the second floor. They also plan to open a restaurant soon on the ground floor.

Location - Around 13 kms from Arugam bay. This place is perfect for the people who like it quiet and calm. And is right on the beach. Easy to reach using google maps. Sound of waves at night was like music to our ears. Rooms - We were in the room right in front of the pool. Not a luxury room but it was quiet, clean, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was huge with 2 showers. Toiletries and towel provided. Pool - Clean and temperature controlled. Felt great. It also gives the vibe of an infinity pool with great views. Food - Food was great. Not a lot of different items but it tastes like a home cooked meal. Staff - Staff was friendly and we got a warm welcome. Kimi & Krish were really nice and helpful with all our queries. Parking space - We got the parking space for our toyota hiace in the property.

We loved our time in Arugam Bay thanks to the kind and helpful staff at Roccos! Beautifully presented hotel right on the beach, with a large clean pool and sun loungers around it and on the beach for private hotel usage. The rooms were simple but comfortable with fans and AC and everything you need for your stay. Everything was kept immaculate and clean and we could ask for fresh towels and sheets as often as we liked. The hotel staff also provided you with towels for the pool / beach, welcome drink on arrival, accommodated our request for a early check in, and arranged for a special meal close by as we had just got engaged. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back soon!

I initially booked for 2 nights and then ended up staying for a week. Hassan was a fantastic host and was able to help with travel arrangements and plans. My room was comfortable and had a view of the beach from my balcony (the beach was about 15m away as the hotel is right on the beach). It's located far enough away from the point and busy end of town that it's nice and quiet at night but only about 15 minutes walk down the beach or main road to all busier bars. I would happily come back and stay here again for an extended stay. Compared with other places I stayed in Arugam Bay my room here was larger and to a much higher standard.

Comfortable bed, very big bathroom, good AC, with balcony. The room has everything I needed and was clean. It's very quiet, no noise from the street in the room, but still located at the main street and close to the beach, just a short walk! The hotel has a restaurant so it's possible to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner there. The breakfast is amazing, I especially like that I got a different breakfast every day and the portions are big. The staff is very nice. The owner is very kind and helped me with everything, I felt home here and ended up staying for a long time. I totally recommend this hotel, for short or long stays.

Very nice owner who makes his guests feel welcome and comfortable, helps with organizing tours and transportation. Situated second row to the beautiful beach - you can hear the waves at night. Just a few steps away from the main road with plenty of Restaurants and shops. Comfortable bed and clean rooms. Good breakfast with omelette, toast, jam, butter and fresh fruit or fruit juice.

A great getaway! We had a wonderful time relaxing by the Indian Ocean, with a beautiful swimming pool that the kids absolutely loved. The meals were excellent, and the bungalows were very comfortable, featuring both indoor and outdoor showers. Each bungalow could easily accommodate four people. The kids also enjoyed a fantastic massage — a real highlight of their stay.

You are more likely to meet a European than a local here.

You are more likely to meet a European than a local here. This is definately not a reflection on Sri Lankan culture, however the beach town is slow and quiet (realtively speaking) and there are plenty of shops and restaurants. And of coure, the surf is consistent and the water warm. It's a winner for a beach holiday.

The best feature of Arugam Bay is the surrounding jungle,...

The best feature of Arugam Bay is the surrounding jungle, lakes and lagoons. The main beach is very busy but other beaches, such as Peanut Farm are less crowded, Do thye Lagoon Safari and a park safari but also try surfing and relaxing on the beach.
