We really enjoyed our stay here, it felt like staying in a cozy home. After moving from hotel to hotel, it felt so nice to come into a warm and comfortable home with a cozy bed. And I liked that dinner and breakfast takes place at a big family table with other guests, once again it felt cozy. But above all, I have to give credit to the incredible service we received. I arrived with a very bad cold, slight fever, etc. Soon after we arrived and he saw I was sick, Madhavan came to our room with a steaming bowl with ginger and lime leaves and some ayurvedic medicine to help with my congestion. He repeated the same action twice more during our stay, and was so so kind, bringing me tea constantly, asking how I was, etc. All the employees at the hotel were above and beyond with their service and attention, and Madhavan's kindness with me will be remembered long after our trip. Oh - and they have a gorgeous swing in the garden where you can lounge about and read on. If you're tired of staying in impersonal hostals and are looking for a cozy stay in a big comfortable house, look no further :)

This is an absolutely amazing place in Nuwara Eliya. Our room was with a huge view terrace. We were lucky that during the 3 days of our stay, the weather was sunny all the time and we managed to use this terrace to the maximum. Yoga at sunset, sunbathing at noon or contemplating the beautiful starry sky at night.. The views were really magnificent. The room itself also exceeded all expectations: the bed was so comfortable, and the wooden interior was very cozy. Also, all these fresh flowers, with which the owners carefully decorate everything.. We were impressed. Amazing host! He helped us in general on all issues. Especially with regard to transfers everywhere. They have the opportunity to organize a tuk-tuk at a real price, without extra charge. It is very valuable and convenient The food was simply incomparable, and there was just a huge amount of it! If there hadn't been so much hiking during our trip, we probably would have gained 2-3 kilos with all these fourth or fifth courses for dinner and a double dessert :))) But it's so delicious! I highly recommend taking dinners here, the homemade food is just a delight. I especially remember the ice cream :) The breakfasts were also wonderful and large. You won't stay hungry for sure)) I recommend it to everyone with absolute confidence!

The very kind and friendly hotel staff even offered us a room upgrade, so we enjoyed more luxury than we had hoped for. We were welcomed with delicious cinnamon tea and warm towels. Since it’s much cooler here than in other parts of Sri Lanka, the hot towels felt especially comforting. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and a water kettle was provided. The bed and sheets were the most comfortable we’ve had during our entire trip. The night before, we were asked which type of breakfast we preferred, and we chose the Sri Lankan breakfast. It was amazing — a perfect combination of a high-class hotel breakfast and a traditional Sri Lankan selection of dishes. As we were the only guests having breakfast early in the morning, Sharat offered us a personal, butler-like service. Our whole stay was an unforgettable experience for us backpackers, and we were truly treated like royalty.

Our recent stay at Firs was nothing short of excellent. The room was spacious , well heated, and comfortable with great amenities .The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the spa bath, which we enjoyed immensely. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were friendly and were always willing to help us . Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

This was our most expensive place to stay in Sri Lanka and we did not regret single rupi :) The view, the common area, the room which has heated beds! they cook food with ingredients from their own garden which they happily show to you. they also offer us tractor tour at their fields :) we felt so noblese with the way we were treatad. At the end of out stay they also cleaned our tuktuk! so thoughtful and friendly staff!❤️

The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking 24 hectares of tea plantation, surrounded by luscious mountains. It is the perfect combination of peace and isolation amidst a breathtaking scenery. The hotel staff are very attentive to guests’ needs - be it booking car transfers or showing the best hike routes in the area. This place is a gem and we look forward to coming back.

The location is close to the town centre so everything was very accessible. It is set back from the road so quiet. Chalet design is unique and fun! Staff very attentive and helped in every way possible. Breakfast set me up for the day in a very comfortable dining room.

Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local...

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

The location is off-the-beaten track a bit if that’s what you like. Personally coming from England I didn’t need to see Nuwara Elyia (little England), little point when I live in England! I enjoyed being in the middle of nowhere and in a peaceful environment before hitting the city of Kandy.

Wonderful place to stay and good place to explore. We went to Lover's Leap Waterfalls, Gregory lake, Sita Temple, Hanuman Temple, Labookellie Tea Centre, Ambewela Farms, Victoria Park, Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Grand Hotel.

Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!

Hatton is the second largest city in Nuwara Eliya District has so many places to visit.The Adams peak is the most venerated place in the area.Many reserviors and watterfalls can see in this area.Seven virgin mountains,Sri pada Forest can be explored during the stay.

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.
