Spacious accommodation including a large room and bathroom, and many communal sitting areas. Each room also includes a private terrace or veranda with comfortable furniture.
The staff were wonderfully attentive and friendly. The food was excellent, with a special mention to the chef Manoj who created beautifully presented, freshly cooked and most importantly delicious food. He catered each meal to our specific requests and dietary needs.
It is a wonderful property to stay and relax. It’s worth noting that there’s nothing to walk out to and the town is a bit of a distance, but you will have a lovely time staying and relaxing at this hotel.
The beach itself is stunning, the water is calm, clean and warm and its is fringed by palms. Paradise

ArmeniaWe were fortunate to be the first guests after the hotel's renovation and reopening and were deeply impressed. The staff was incredibly attentive and hospitable. Everything was beautifully clean and cozy, and they served the most delicious coffee we had during entire trip to Sri Lanka. The view from the window was breathtaking, overlooking the ocean and a beautifully maintained tropical garden.
We were truly amazed by our stay at this hotel and highly recommend it. If you're looking for excellent service, a beautiful and clean environment, and stunning views, this hotel in Sri Lanka is the perfect choice.

AustraliaJust an absolute tropical dream. The hotel is very beautiful and feels very relaxed to be in. The spaces are thoughtful and there are lots of places to lounge and relax so you feel like you are on a private retreat even with other guests.
Our favourite part was the loungers under big beautiful native trees on the beach. They are tucked under trees but right on the water so you can swim in the ocean and then lay in the shade and drink mango juice 👌 their spot on the beach is also more peaceful and secluded than some of the other resorts.
The staff were very generous and kind! We are vegan and their chef catered easily for us. They also just made the most heavenly dishes - their buffets (breakfast and dinner) are 10/10 the food was so good.
We can't rate it high enough - it was a surprise favourite stop for us on our trip! Very peaceful and just what we needed.

We stayed at Passi Villa in Pasikuda for a peaceful vacation, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was smooth, and the staff greeted us warmly, making us feel right at home. The villa had a calm and tropical atmosphere, which set the perfect mood for relaxation.
Our room was spacious, clean, and had a stunning view of the beach. Waking up to the breathtaking sight of the sunrise the morning was one of the best parts of our stay. The calmness of the surroundings, combined with the ability to watch the sun’s first rays over the ocean, made each morning feel magical. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the décor added to the serene, coastal vibe. The bathroom was modern, with all the necessary amenities.
One of the highlights of our stay was the swimming pool, which offered a gorgeous view of the beach. It was beautifully maintained and perfect for cooling off after a day in the sun. We spent a relaxing afternoon there, enjoying the peaceful ambiance, the beach view, and the great service by the poolside.
We dined at the hotel restaurant several times, and the food was delicious, especially the fresh seafood.
The location of Passi Villa was ideal for a beach getaway, with easy access to the ocean and water activities. The calmness of the surroundings allowed us to truly unwind, making it a perfect retreat.
Overall, our stay at Passi Villa exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend it to couples looking for a tranquil and romantic escape. We look forward to returning soon!

My wife and I recently stayed at Giman Free Hotel, and we were beyond impressed with our experience! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the warmest hospitality. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay.
We booked a Deluxe Double Room with a sea view, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The room was spacious, clean, and the views were stunning. The peaceful, calm atmosphere made it the perfect place to relax and unwind.
The food was another highlight! Every meal we had was delicious, but the seafood was especially exceptional—fresh and full of flavor. It’s clear that the kitchen takes great pride in its offerings.
One of the best features of this eco-resort is the private beach. It’s a serene spot to enjoy the natural beauty of Sri Lanka without the crowds. The entire experience felt truly special, and we would highly recommend Giman Free to anyone looking for a luxurious yet eco-friendly retreat. It's hands down the best eco-resort in Sri Lanka!

I recently stayed in this hotel in Pasikuda, Sri Lanka, which is beautifully located on a clean beach with gentle waves during this season. (September 2024) The hotel rooms were modern and spacious, providing a comfortable stay. They also have a dedicated water sports section that offered exciting Jet Ski rides and a snorkeling trip to the nearby "Kayankerni" Coral Reef for a reasonable additional cost. Snorkeling was an amazing first-time experience for both my wife and me, and it was impressive that even some 5-star hotels do not have a water sports center like this one.
The hotel features a large swimming pool with a depth of 9 feet at one end, perfect for a refreshing swim. The location is ideal, with no stones or corals that could hurt your feet while enjoying the beach.
Although the hotel manager was not present during our visit, we were warmly greeted by the manager from their sister hotel, who made us feel welcome.

For our second visit to Passikudah we chose Anantaya Resort and we couldn't have chosen better. From the first moment to the end we were looked after by the friendly staff, especially Rishopana and Kanogitha. We booked this resort for a room with direct access to the pool and we were lucky to get perhaps the nicest room. But what makes this resort special is the people who work here. We also spoke with the friendly beach/pool attendant S. and likewise the waiters and cooks at breakfast and dinner did everything they could to make the guests happy. Excellent Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner. My husband was delighted that the waiters here could spin a beer with a foam cap. The room was very nice and clean. The pool was cleaned regularly too. Free sunbeds on the beach. Beautiful beach and walks. If we had not booked another stay before, we would have stayed longer. We will definitely be back here soon!

We had a great time here and we even extended our stay for one night. The hotel is amazing, has a very good location, with direct access to a beautiful and quiet beach! The staff are very nice and always available to help with anything you might need, the garden was very well preserved, there were sun beds near the sea for use of hotel guests and the pool was also quite enjoyable.
Breakfast was very good with lots of different options to choose from.
The hotel was very quiet, perfect for relaxing and enjoying your days in the paradise that is Pasikuda beach!

The location of the hotel is perfect and the beach in front of the hotel was amazing. The staff was very friendly, helpful and very thoughtful in every manner. The staff were paying attention to everything small thing which was very impressive. What an amazing place. Comfortable, tastefully decorated, but not overly manicured as many other resorts. The food was great, the staff friendly and helpful. Service superb. Paradise beach with white sand and a tranquil sea to swim in. Hands down my most relaxing stay in Sri Lanka.

Apart from the beach there is nothing much in walking...
Apart from the beach there is nothing much in walking distance though we did go for dinner at Bayceylons which was very close and good. Hotel excursions expensive but there’s a local company that do fishing and snorkelling trips at a good price.

Batticaloa is very good city, peaceful, less traffic, sort of more rural touch as compared to Colombo. People are also very cooperative and helpful in all ways. Its a small town. The beach is also very neat and clean.
There are many local restaurants and hotel. We can find good food there.

Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka!
Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka! The water here has an amazing emerald colour and it is very clean, transparent. It is a very long and beautiful sandy beach with a free natural spirit, with hardly anyone around. We enjoyed swimming almost all the day! No tourist attractions but some restaurants like Laya Waves are and Swiss Cafe on the shore are the options. Kalkudah works fine for yoga, meditation, walking along, etc. There are some cows and their manure in some spots, but it is better than plastic garbage. Some days the waves were bigger than Passikuda, but no corals on Kalkudah. Comparing to Passikuda we liked Kalkudah much better. Passikuda is over crowded with a long chain of luxury hotels and is not as beautiful. Anyway if anyone is coming with children Passikuda has shallow waters, as well as some tourists attractions. In any case, on Kalkudah one can dig a hole in the sand for children, where the ocean water will come, while making the natural baths that way.

Batticaloa was warm and humid, but that is more than made up for by its breathtaking beauty and abundant seafood. The town is exceptionally clean, surrounded by water, and radiates a serene charm. Pasikudah, in particular, took our breath away. With its pristine beaches and tranquil waters, it’s nothing short of amazing—a true gem on the eastern coast.
