IndiaOur one-week stay at Inn Sea Horizon in Ahungalla, Sri Lanka, was exceptional. Silva and his family's warm hospitality, coupled with the stunning views, excellent service, and delicious food, made it an unforgettable experience. The villa's cleanliness, proximity to beautiful beaches, and Silva's attentive management exceeded our expectations. Children felt like they stayed at close relatives. They wrestled exited to see monkeys jumping from tries to tree in harden and feeding them bananas.

Distance to Ahunalla beach 250m (6 mins walk), private beach 200m (5 mins walk), Kasgoda beach (500m, 15 walk via Buddhist monastery via mountains, steep steps), Turtle Hatching - the same direction as Kasgoda (600m), Nearest Restaurant and bars 250 meters (international cards cads accepted), if buy anything restaurant - sun bet on the beach, cheers, table, tent will be for free.
Nearest Grocery 900m - international cads accepted (15min by walk), Wineshop 1km (seeing a tourist they raise the price twice - ask show the price as it’s government shops, ask for a check).

Everything was clean and well-maintained. Amazing different and very delicious breakfast served individually with ocean view. Shashis wife told us many interesting things about Sri Lanka-its culture/food/traditions. Organized tour to Turtles farm. Very helpful and welcoming family!! Beautiful long beach with turtles putting its eggs at night. We enjoyed relaxed atmosphere there-swimming, suntanning, eating and just enjoying the moment! Definetely will come back!! Thank you!!

RussiaIt is one of the best places we have ever stayed in the world, let alone Sri Lanka! A very hospitable host and his dog Maya took good care of us. Rooms were huge and cozy with very high loft ceilings, you cannot really see that from the photos on the website. Breakfasts were incredible and featured different sorts of fruit, passionfruit included! Also, staying in this property gives you a good discount on surfing lessons on the beach, so me and my cousin rode our first waves. Just perfect, I recommend this place with all my heart and will definitely come back. ❤

From the moment I arrived I was blown away by the stunning location just steps away from the beach with breathtaking views.
The place itself was beautifully designed and decorated offering a luxurious and comfortable stay. The rooms were spacious clean and well-appointed with all the amenities one could need. The highlight for me was the balcony overlooking the ocean where I spent many hours just taking in the view and listening to the sound of the waves.
But what truly set Sea Rock Villa apart was the amazing staff.
From the welcoming and attentive reception to the friendly and helpful team of employees the service was outstanding.
Overall I would highly recommend Sea Rock Villa to anvone looking for a luxurious beachfront getaway with exceptional service and breathtaking views.

Had a fantastic two-night stay at Cinnamon Bay Beruwala with my family and absolutely loved it!
Right off the bat, the porters were incredibly friendly and efficient with our luggage. The check-in process was smooth and quick, although they didn't accept American Express. No biggie, though; I had other cards.
The 3 Superior rooms we booked were super spacious, with all the listed amenities on booking.com. Happy with that!
We also opted for rooms with breakfast included, served at the "Büfe" restaurant. The spread was packed with various delicious Sri Lankan dishes and didn't repeat over the days. One thing, though, the place had quite a few flies and some cats wandering around, which might bother some.
For lunch and dinner, we decided to dine at Büfe as well, and we were pleasantly surprised by the affordability (keep in mind, I'm comparing it to Swiss prices!). For five adults, our total for one lunch and two dinner buffets came to around CHF 300. Great value!
In-room dining service available 24/7 via phone was a plus. Orders were delivered from their Ice Restaurant, which you could also visit.
There's a designated smoking area, and I noticed folks respected this, making it comfortable for everyone else. They also had a beautiful swimming pool and a separate kids' pool with a play area - a bonus for families like us.
Kudos to the housekeeping, reception, and porter staff, who were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay!
The beach, directly accessible from the hotel, was mostly clean, though a bit rocky, and had some glass pieces. Just be a bit cautious with kids.
Our stay started with a welcome drink - a lovely gesture that set the tone for our fantastic stay.
Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommended!

Outstanding! This beautiful resort is sandwiched between two spectacular (and mostly empty) beaches. If you're looking for a peaceful vibe (no kids allowed and no annoying music at the pool), excellent food, outstanding cocktails, excellent service, and amazing sunsets...then this place is for you. We were very warmly welcomed upon arrival and were looked after with meticulous care for the rest of our stay (thank you very much, Sanath!). The room was perfect and the bed (including linens and pillows) was very comfortable. Thank you also to the very kind and generous Chef Thushara and his team for the wonderful Sri Lankan cooking class (delicious chicken curry). Another highlight of our stay was having our sundowners on a hidden patio perched on the rocks and overlooking the surf. The drinks and the view were spectacular! While you're there, also try the spa. Wonderful massages. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better stay and we look forward to coming back. Thank you, Sandaru, for waking up so early to assist us with our checkout and bid us farewell.

How had we not discovered this chic hidden hen in Bentota before! Easily the best stay we’ve had in Sri Lanka and we’ve been around from the hill state ti the south, staying in boutique hotels! Artistically designed cosy rooms with spacious balconies, beautiful gardens and pool area with great service. We loved the warmth of Sanjeeva who looked after our stay, and the welcoming reception manager who obliged our requests in the most efficient manner. It was just serene to be here, relaxing amidst the wafts of frangipani and enjoying the pool with food and drinks served straight to us! The beach was a charming 2 minute walk away across the railway tracks, which itself makes for a great Instagram shot! absolutely loved this hotel!

I arrived early in the morning and was offered early check-in for €55 which included breakfast and access to all the facilities. It was absolutely worth it. Everything was amazing from the food to the treatments. I purchased a three-day package and enjoyed every single session. I also joined the yoga and meditation classes which were a beautiful addition to the experience. The Ayurvedic food was outstanding with a great variety every day. I truly enjoyed every moment of my stay and would gladly return.

The beach was clean and quiet, perfect for relaxing.
Breakfast had a good mix of local and Western food.

Everything was clean and well organized. The breakfast buffet was great, the dinner buffet was so good, so many varieties including freshly grilled prawns.

We did not venture into Bentota.
We did not venture into Bentota. We are expats living in Colombo so no need to explore the city. The hotel was at the right spot for a 100% relaxing weekend away with no distractions. The ocean is not that swimmable as the sea was very rough and looked dangerous. The pool was a welcome alternative. We drove to Galle for the Saturday to watch the game between Springboks and Kiwis. That was not too far, one hour away and a very scenic route. The hotel was also fully booked so must be popular.

Not many food options in the area. Beach is okay not great. Ocean beyond the reef is very rough, no real swimming area.
Area is also not very upscale, compared to other areas we have been to in sri lanka.

if you are some one who wants to enjoy sea views with modern day comforts - look no further , I am very wildly travel and for me I have not found any such place to enjoy sea views , relax and be to myself .
staff here is very lovely , special shout out Prabhu who did his best to give us vegetarian food , perfect place for me time and unwinding

THERE WAS A LOT OF THINGS TO DO AND SEE AND ENJOY AT KOSGODA BUT WE COULD NOT ENJOY EVERYTHING BECAUSE WE COULDNT STAY LONG. I WISH WE HAD MORE TIME TO SPEND IN THE BEAUTIFUL BEACHES OF KOSGODA. THERE WERE TURTLE HATCHERIES AND TURTLE REHABILITATION CENTERS ALL OVER THE BEACHES. OUR KIDS WERE SO HAPPY AND FILLED WITH EMPATHY TO SEE THE TURTLES.

Aluthgama is a reasonably quiet town,. İt offers a bustling shopping area with plenty of local shops that provide the necessities of life without the over abundance of tourist style outlets.
Local transportation as in tuk tuk are plentiful and very cheap.
İt is surrounded by beautiful open spaces showcasing the areas natural beauty. İt is however a two hour drive to Colombo airport.

Stayed at Thaala Bentota recently and had a pleasant experience. The location is excellent—right by the beach with easy and direct access, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. The hotel itself is well-maintained with a calm and welcoming atmosphere.
The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering a good variety and fresh options. Dinner buffet had fewer choices in comparison, but the quality was still decent and satisfying for the price.
Overall, a very good place to stay if you’re looking for beachfront accommodation with good service and a peaceful vibe.

Lovely place to relax. Large beach. Not many restaurants on the beach and not as populated with tourists as other areas we visited, but we loved spending time in Shah Shah's and found a sun bed to relax in with an umbrella. Also recommend Pier 88 to eat out in near by Aluthgama, lovely river views and good quality food. Also recommend Kandoori if you fancy a bit of Indian cuisine. We didn't do many day trips as we had already done some in Mirissa but we did do a boat safari that was pleasant enough. Great location if you want to be relatively near to Colombo and the airport. We mostly relaxed by the pool and had Ayurvedic massages so recommend finding a nice hotel with good facilities. Worth a visit.

Most meals were eaten at the Hotel.
Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis.
Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility.
Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.

Villa 252 Kosgoda, With its beautiful sandy beaches. Not too busy and very pleasant to stay and lots to do in the erea. A visit to the Galbokka Sea Turtle conservation is very worthwhile! Or a wonderful massage at the Aryuvedic center. Or take a boad safari at the Maduganga lake. The General Tsunami Photography Museum in Telwatta is a must see if you want to know more about this terrible event. From here a trip to the 'Ducht Fort' in Galle is also recommended. In short, Kosgoda is a beautiful place to start or end your Sri Lanka trip…

We stayed at Janus Paradise restaurant cabanas it was fabulous food was amazing lovely clean rooms , staff extremely helpful . Food was delicious, pool clean , we arrived during the Sri Lankan new year and was given a beautiful meal for breakfast , it was just lovely. Hotel owner Janus very nice and came to sit with us during our evening stay had a great laugh together what a wonderful host
