Our experience at this property was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for, as though we were guests in a home filled with warmth and charm. This place is unlike any other—a true oasis where you can completely immerse yourself in the vacation spirit. Every detail has been so thoughtfully designed and curated, creating an environment that is both stylish and comfortable. The house has a distinct and beautiful design that blends effortlessly with the natural surroundings, giving it a unique character that made our stay unforgettable. The pool is undoubtedly the cherry on top. After a day exploring the area or even just lounging around, it was the perfect place to unwind, cool off, and enjoy some quiet moments. You could easily spend the entire day here, relaxing and taking in the serene atmosphere. The location is also excellent—just a stone's throw away from Galle Fort and within a very short distance of the beach, offering the best of both worlds. Whether you’re looking to explore the historic sights, soak in the vibrant local culture, or simply relax by the sea, everything is conveniently close. Our stay exceeded all expectations. The level of care and attention from the staff was impeccable—they were well-trained, friendly, and attentive to our every need. It’s evident that they take pride in making every guest feel at home, and it truly elevated our experience. On top of all this, the accommodations themselves were outstanding. The rooms were spotless and beautifully furnished, creating a space that was both elegant and inviting. This wasn’t just a stay; it was an experience that made us feel completely rejuvenated. This is by far the best accommodation we’ve had in all our travels across Asia. I recommend this property to anyone planning a visit to Galle, you won’t regret it. And as for us, this has become a must-visit destination, and we’ll definitely be returning whenever we’re back in Galle.

The property is brand new, very well decorated and clean. Since it’s outside the main road, it’s also very quiet and peaceful. The owner and staff are the friendlier and caring you can find - ready to assist any time - who also prepare delicious and varied breakfast every day. We booked the place for two nights and ended up staying six. WiFi works is extremely fast, which is very convenient if you have to work and do VTC. Also the rooms are much bigger than advertised, they have a separate kitchen and a washing machine! We would definitely go back to this peaceful hidden gem! A special thanks to Sasini and Menaka for their kindness - we will miss you!

Everything was perfect! The resort is new, the decoration is very modern and meets the relaxing young vibe. When we arrived they showed us to our room and offered a group dinner with the rest of the guests that was really delicious. Excellent rating overall! Supun/Mel and the lovely staff are doing a fabulous job as hosts of Amaroo! By far the best accomodation we could have imagined for our style - its the place to be in Hikka! Cool vibes! Perfect location as well (beachfront, surfspot, restos/bars, atm in front). Everyday changing breakfast is a dream, and so is the restaurants food menue! Surfguidings and boards were on a super good level. AND: Getting up in the morning, receiving the loveliest „good morning“ every day by Harsh followed by instant serving of fresh coffee with the brightest smile you could imagine made every day from the first minute a really good one! Definitely coming back one day 😎

The building is exceptionally beautiful! We had the luck to be upgraded to a room with garden view. The whole team was super kind and supportive. It is fantastic place! We like everything so much! Incredible view on the beautiful ocean from all point of the hotel. Huge room and all necessary and modern inside (including coffee machine), comfortable bed, bathroom on open air, amazing terrace where you can enjoy the view. Very friendly and welcomed stuff. Very tasty food and drinks in the restaurant. The restaurant as all hotel has amazing ocean view. Waitress Iresha was very kind and professional, she recommended us ideal options for our lunch and dinner and treated us with great warmth and health. We asked for late check-out and the hotel provided it to us without any additional cost. We highly recommend this wonderful place to all!!!

The pool was gorgeous and so much fun, and the tour around the plantation was great and very interesting - my little boy (aged 10) loved it. Our room was amazing, an upstairs room with a mezzanine floor and a window that looked out onto jungle - we saw black monkeys there, as well as elsewhere on the site, and there were so many kingfishers! (A couple of our wildlife shots from the site are added here.) The staff, like everyone in Sri Lanka, were all beautiful people who always went out of their way to help you. We will definitely return!

We had a fantastic time at Heritance Ahungalla. The service was amazing, and the all-inclusive package was great value for money. A big thanks to Akidu, who guided us with all the details about the hotel and our package. The pool is large and beautiful, and the food was outstanding – with a huge variety at every buffet. We highly recommend this place and are already planning to come back!

Everything except for the few negative aspects I described but those are not so important. The room was big enough and the bathroom was oversized. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very helpful and nice. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The beach is beautiful and not crowded as Unawatuna Beach. I liked the location, you can find a bus stand, and tuk-tuks are very easy.

We love everything! We ended up keep extending our stay. I think we stayed at least 5 nights. I love the view and the sound of the wave. This is therapy. The twins room is large enough to add one more bed and become a triple room. The staff team is super helpful and nice. They accommodated all our request! We highly recommend this hotel! I enjoyed my stay in Galle.

I enjoyed my stay in Galle. The place was very clean and the environment was relaxing. It’s a good location to explore the city and enjoy the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the beds were a bit old and already broken, so it wasn’t very comfortable. If they fix that, it would be a much better stay. Overall, a nice experience and good value.

Its a fantastic place, just at the beach and well planned hotel, pools, beach, restaurants, bars, lobbys are equally catering to customer service points. We had our best hotel experience at Araliya Unawatuna. Even met the owner and had a generous chat during breakfast which is so touching and personalized service standard I believe. Easy to visit Galle Fort, just a walk to the golden sandy beaches. Staff from top management to the ground staff is well trained to give excellent customer care. We specially thanking to our 7th flour room service staff who simply helped us in technical support, bars and restaurant staff and Nethmi & Dakshika and all wonderful reception staff memebers.

Hikkaduwa is one of the best tourist beach spots with friendly and helpful local people. The weather is cool even though we had some rain, but we stayed at the villa on the balcony watching people fishing kayaking and canoeing down the River. The beach area has some unique fresh seafood restaurants, surfing, snorkeling and you can even rent out glass-bottomed boat to see underwater world. There is also a Turtle Hatchery here and Tsunami museum for tourists. Beach is very clean.

Ahangama is so peaceful - it's slightly away from the busier areas around the coast. The restaurants around are in great locations, and all very calm with great vibes. It's also very easy and quick to get to neighbouring towns to visit sites, or restaurants in those locations as well.

Great beach with very few people. Not suitable for swimming as the current is very strong. Also, as a solo female traveller, because there are so few people on the beach it is advisable to be extra cautious. One morning when I was walking by myself, there was a man in the bushes who exposed himself to me (intentionally). So use caution.

I recently stayed at La Kurumba for two nights, and everything about the hotel was exceptional! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The food was absolutely delicious — every meal was a treat. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway.

My favourite place was the turtle hatchery.

My favourite place was the turtle hatchery. Most meals were eaten at the Hotel. Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis. Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility. Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.

Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach,...

Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.
