Animals Ahangama is an absolute gem. The boutique design is stunning — cozy, stylish, and full of character. It truly feels like a home away from home. Stunning, brand-new, incredibly friendly hotel. First of all, this property looks exactly like it is in the pictures: private, luxurious, comfortable, and beautiful. There are only 11 rooms including the superior room with a huge terrace. All rooms have balconies or terraces, so you can enjoy your time looking at the beach and ocean waves or busy and funny Hikka’s streets. In your room, you will have everything you might possibly need. You won’t want to leave that bed, it's so comfortable and was made for your best sleep. The pool is big and clean, you will have plenty of options for where to get your tan: on big beds, on covered or open chaise lounges, on the grass, or near the pool. The territory itself isn't that big, but it's well taken care of, clean and functional. You can get access to the 360• view terrace or enjoy some time in the gym. There is a bar and a kitchen for your comfort, you should definitely get some milkshakes and Caesar salad! We have walked near almost every hotel on Hikkaduwa’s beaches and even big, branded and famous ones aren’t even close to Dormero. As for breakfast, you can get a traditional one or choose one of many options, including omelets, bowls, sandwiches, waffles, and many more. No matter what you choose, it will be delicious. And it is very hard to even start talking about personnel. Everyone there has only one goal: to make your stay as good as possible. There are some securities, who constantly check on the property’s safety; barmen, who will make you the best cocktails; cleaners, who will clean up the room every day… And Franziska! What an angel! She will help you with ANYTHING, she will become the best hotel manager in your life, you won’t want to leave just because of her 🥹 We loved them all! (Also, there is a cute dog Kiki and monitor lizard that checks on you while you are getting sunbaths ☺️ ).

From the moment I arrived the staff did an amazing job, nothing was any trouble and always a smile.. add to this an amazing building and decor you have an amazing hotel. I made the mistake of booking a place in the fort for the social aspect that was more expensive and half as nice in every department, probably forgo the 3 nights in the new place and return to Taavetti, you won't regret booking i promise you.

It is wonderful stylish villa as expected. Located in the heart of this historic and iconic city, we enjoyed strolling to see the sunrise and sunset and exploring the beautiful shops. The staff were very nice and helpful. Mr. Azwan arranged a car charter. It was actually trustworthy because the driver is smart enough with a beautiful TOYOTA car. If you have any plan to do that, please ask the hotel they arrange you with a best value.

Location is perfect. The only hotel in the beach, there is no one a couple of kilometers each side. For comparison, if you go to Unawatuna you will see the difference, the very negative one. Service. The staff is very nice. Restaurant food is gorgeous. Have compared it with the best restaurants in Galle. Beach and view from the balcony are very nice.

Without forgetting the precious massage from Vidula, who put my back back in place following a fall down while getting off a Bus :) The kindness, the smiles, the availability and the human exchanges that we were able to have with this Dream Team will remain engraved in our heart.     Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon is an excellent choice for a dream getaway by the Indian Ocean. The New Year’s Eve party was exceptionally well-organized, from the stunning decorations and music to the lavish catering, with all praise going to the staff. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the food is excellent, and the beach and pools are clean and well-maintained, with plenty of sun loungers for relaxation. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. Highly recommended for those seeking a complete relaxation!

    Area is lovely. Jungle pools are clean and so much fun and this place is so nice and quiet away from the traffic. Lot of people during day but mornings and afternoon we had the whole poolarea for ourselves. Ravi the owner upgraded is to a bigger villa last night and also have us an intereresting tour in the garden! We highly recommend some days here if you visit the west coast of Sri lanka!! Thank you so much! We went with our kids, 2 and 4 years old.

    The location right next to the big and almost empty beach was magnificent. The experience at the spa was great, Prima gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had and you can tell she has a medical background. If you stay at this hotel, you should definitely get a massage. Chef Heshan and his team made the best meals. Absolutely amazing food! Love this place and I would love to come back.

    The Galle Fort in Galle is my absolute favorite place — it has a vibe of its own. It’s completely safe at any time of the day, even for solo travelers. There’s so much history within the Fort walls to learn about and beautiful architecture to explore. The hosts at the restaurants and hotels inside the Fort are amazing, and the service is truly of international standard. The view of the Indian Ocean from the Ramparts is simply breathtaking. There are plenty of restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines and dishes to try. Outside the Fort, I highly recommend visiting the beaches at Unawatuna, just a few kilometers from Galle City Centre. While you’re there, don’t miss the Japanese Peace Pagoda at Rumassala — you won’t regret it! Yaddehimulla Road in Unawatuna has everything from surf schools and restaurants to gem shops, gelato spots, international cuisines, and everything in between. For quick bites and essentials, SPAR Supermarket at Galle City Centre is your go-to place. You’ll find tasty rice and curry meals, ready-to-eat options, mosquito repellent, basic medical supplies, snacks, good-quality fruits, and other everyday necessities.

    Property needs full renovation. Staff needs full training. Needs full cleaning. Food so bad (had dinner & so very disappointed) nothing good to say in any aspect of this hotel. My opinion shouldn’t have any stars

    All sea view rooms and the room we stayed in was very spacious . A few minutes walk to jungle beach. The staff was friendly and even made arrangements to get our meals sorted. There is a kitchen and if we bring the raw materials we can even cook on our own , just need to pay them for the space we use. Over all I enjoyed unwatuna because it was conveniently located too.

    We did not venture into Bentota.

    We did not venture into Bentota. We are expats living in Colombo so no need to explore the city. The hotel was at the right spot for a 100% relaxing weekend away with no distractions. The ocean is not that swimmable as the sea was very rough and looked dangerous. The pool was a welcome alternative. We drove to Galle for the Saturday to watch the game between Springboks and Kiwis. That was not too far, one hour away and a very scenic route. The hotel was also fully booked so must be popular.

    I really loved how cozy and clean the hostel was — it felt like home! The staff and owner were super friendly and helpful. The only small thing is that it can get a bit quiet at night, but overall it’s a perfect place to relax.

    A little town which is friendly colourful with plenty of shops for anything you need …only issue is that like every town in Sri Lanka there is a problem with waste ( plastic bottles) There are several resteraunts and lots of lovely cake shops :-) Everything is very cheap ..food , tuk tuk , train ..and clothes are an outstanding bargain to any visitor Overall a lovely place for great holiday

    There are so many locations to see.good peoples are around & very safe are. I like the place & the area.i had great time durig the vacation.I guess that threre is 1km around to the beach & also there is a logoon.i have experience the boat safari at the lake. I wish if i could stay few more days to enjoy.

    Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.

    My favourite place was the turtle hatchery.

    My favourite place was the turtle hatchery. Most meals were eaten at the Hotel. Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis. Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility. Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.
