The best stay we had in Sri Lanka! The room and all the facilities were so comfortable. Room was a bit small but enough to rest, bathroom was enormous and probably the best I've seen in Sri Lanka. The host was very attentive, he welcomed us with fruit from his own garden - lovely!

Extremely enthusiastic owner ready to bend over backwards to make the client happy. Able to arrange safari trips, scooter rentals, take you to bus station etc. Excellent home cooked dinner by owner's wife, a true masterchef, food for two could feed six, worth the value of the stay alone. Awesome Welcome & Farewell drinks, take away breakfast ready at 5:30 for our early morning safari trip, couldn't ask for more. Would rate 11 out of 10!!

We had such a fantastic time at Animal View Point, Shashika and his family were amazing hosts and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The cottage was lovely, secure from bugs and very well equipped for the two of us, and beautiful and quiet to hear the peace and sounds of nature at night time. The dinners were beautifully cooked and eating outside under the shelter was an amazing experience. The location is on a piece of farmland and we had a couple of sunset walks which was lovely, highly recommend to anyone traveling to Yala National Park. Shashika helped us organise the safari and a private car to our next location too! Thank you for having us, we will definitely come back :)

This is an idyllic place to spend nice and relaxing days in the south coast! Located in a beautiful long quiet white-sand beach , secluded from the hectic beaches nearby. The property is beautiful and comfortable, great pool to complement your sea swim, very helpful and kind staff and great food. The staff and host in this property could not have been any kinder. We were able to get our laundry done for a very fair price and the host even made us a packed breakfast as we had to leave very early morning on our departure. The location was very close to the beach and a short ride to the secret beach.

My review is based on just one day of stay and everything we had the chance to experience. During our journey of discovering Sri Lanka, I had to choose a hotel to celebrate my wife's birthday, and Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort exceeded all my expectations. A special thank you to the wonderful team, and especially to our host Imalka, who went above and beyond to prepare a surprise for my wife – all improvised on the same day. The resort is truly paradise, fully living up to its five-star status, from check-in to check-out, with excellent facilities. The room is spacious, clean, and elegant, surrounded by gardens and offering stunning sea views. The pool is fantastic, with plenty of space to relax. The beach is peaceful and perfect for relaxing, although the sea can be quite rough. However, this is not a problem, as there is a nearby beach where swimming is safer. That beach is also charming, with seaside bars and restaurants. The bar at the Il Mare restaurant offers a happy hour with great drinks, breathtaking views, and a stunning sunset. Dinner at Journeys was the cherry on top – a warm ambiance and exquisitely prepared cuisine. Breakfast was also exceptional. Even though I am familiar with the Anantara brand and have stayed at several of their resorts worldwide, Tangalle Resort managed to surprise us. We even considered staying an extra night, but that would have disrupted our travel plans in Sri Lanka. Without a doubt, this is a hotel to return to for a longer stay. Thank you to the staff, Imalka, and Anantara!

I loved my stay here! I arrived and got a yummy lunch and then was off on my first safari. I came back to a delicious outdoor candlelit meal- and everything made for me was vegan the entire stay- it was all very delicious and big portions. I loved the location as it was close to the north entrance and block 1 and it is far less busy as the other entrance, so entering Yala National Park. was easy and quick. My guide Dhanu was enthusiastic, engaging and so much fun to be on safari with. We spotted a leopard and a 4 month old cub and it was magical. I learnt so much from him too! My room was very comfortable, it had everything I needed, and I loved the plunge pool for cooling down after safaris during the day and late night with having the pool lights on. I enjoyed speaking with who I think is the manager- he has a wealth of wisdom and has great stories. His passion for nature is inspiring. If you love nature, this is the place to stay, and your gateway to Yala National Park.

My exhilarating trip to Sri Lanka was an incredible experience that will always remain in my memories. The pristine landscapes and beautiful nature of this country captured my heart. However, what made this trip even more special was our stay at Laya hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and also the place was very comfortable and quiet at night. We happened to be there during Sinhala and Tamil new year holiday, and we decided to stay an extra night to celebrate with them. We participated in their games and festivities, and it was a great new experience. We were even honored as special guests on the second night to stay in their brand new caravan. Special thanks to the hotel general manager (Mr.Wasantha) and his deputy (Mr.Dulaj) for their hospitality.

Lots of gorgeous beaches nearby don’t stay on the main town beach. Take a bus to silent beach / Goyambokka beach / red beach / pallikudwua etc - you could walk from the town to Red beach and Pallikafwua too in 30 minutes Free sunbeds if you eat/ drink at the local beach bars at every beach

It should be on everyone’s itinerary! The safari was amazing- go for the all day! And Jami Riverside Hotel is run by a wonderful host couple and the accommodations were comfortable, clean and affordable. They will make all the safari arrangements with the park for you if you wish. We had a wonderful driver -PHN Kasun Sampath.

This place is amazing.

This place is amazing. We stay with our 3 young kids and the staff were so kind and attentive. All of the small details have been thought of and it’s a wonderful experience in nature. Lovely local Sri Lankan are served for each meal.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

Weerawila, located in a dry zone of Sri Lanka, is ideal for wildlife safaris and nature experiences. This location is especially convenient during the rainy season, as it often stays dry even when the rest of the country is experiencing thunderstorms. We chose it specifically to avoid heavy rains.

Authentic family experience.

Authentic family experience. Two beaches, bird sanctuary and a fishery. Small but beautiful temple. Big rocks for line fishing. Bird watching. Relaxing. You can walk around the village, a couple of little shops. No restaurants as such. I had home cooked food from the main house.

Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

It definitely is an experience worth trying.

It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. There were times you just felt that we were the only ones there and when you needed something the staff would magically appear
