DenmarkI’d describe our stay as value for money. We didn’t pay much for two nights but we got sweet staff, great breakfast, a nice swimming pool and a good and modern treadmill which I appreciated a lot.
The hotel contacted us before arriving and arranged a full day of safari for us. We (my girlfriend and I) got picked up by Channa at 4.30 am and had one of the best days of our lives. We saw three leopards fighting and playing and our driver Channa was so good and found the leopards in the early morning. He had 18 years of experience and I hope everyone else gets the chance to go safari at Yala National Park with Channa

If you want a a break away from the hustle and bustle of every day life this is the place to come.It’s hard to explain how beautiful and tranquil the view is from this fabulous resorts garden looking across the lake to the distant Buddhist temple, perfect for morning yoga.
Madu the resort owner and his wonderful staff Nisal, Mahesh, Sampath and the outstanding Chef Indika looked after us like family. The fruit and tasty cooked food for dinner is all local produce.
The rooms are very modern and spacious with all mod cons required.
For a trip to the National Reserve Safari park.
Madu can arrange everything for a full day or half day safari. If you’re lucky,like we were you may get to see a Leopard or two along with the many other wild animals.

MalaysiaI loved everything about this place. I would like to start by commending Gayan, the host! He is probably the best and nicest host I've had in Sri Lanka. He sent me to the town FOC to get some of the best Sri Lankan food I've eaten, given me a free nature tour around the lake where we can see fruit bats and owls, arranged the safari at the most affordable rate I could find, had some of the most interesting conversations about plants, animals, Sri Lankan culture, etc. Everything in this place felt like a family home. We had tea at 4AM before the safari and was also welcomed back with a king coconut!
The room was also amazingly clean, spacious, well decorated and came with an extra cooler fan because Tissa can get quite hot.
I definitely recommend this place and would love to come back again!

Family is super friendly and welcoming. The host is energetic and openminded lady with perfect English.
I had a back pain and she was so kind and helped me to cure it. Thank you! Rooms are huge and very comfortable, surrounding is quiet and safe. I love the garden with so many flowers and fish. Breakfast is very tasty.

My review is based on just one day of stay and everything we had the chance to experience.
During our journey of discovering Sri Lanka, I had to choose a hotel to celebrate my wife's birthday, and Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort exceeded all my expectations. A special thank you to the wonderful team, and especially to our host Imalka, who went above and beyond to prepare a surprise for my wife – all improvised on the same day.
The resort is truly paradise, fully living up to its five-star status, from check-in to check-out, with excellent facilities. The room is spacious, clean, and elegant, surrounded by gardens and offering stunning sea views. The pool is fantastic, with plenty of space to relax.
The beach is peaceful and perfect for relaxing, although the sea can be quite rough. However, this is not a problem, as there is a nearby beach where swimming is safer. That beach is also charming, with seaside bars and restaurants. The bar at the Il Mare restaurant offers a happy hour with great drinks, breathtaking views, and a stunning sunset. Dinner at Journeys was the cherry on top – a warm ambiance and exquisitely prepared cuisine. Breakfast was also exceptional.
Even though I am familiar with the Anantara brand and have stayed at several of their resorts worldwide, Tangalle Resort managed to surprise us. We even considered staying an extra night, but that would have disrupted our travel plans in Sri Lanka.
Without a doubt, this is a hotel to return to for a longer stay. Thank you to the staff, Imalka, and Anantara!

I loved my stay here! I arrived and got a yummy lunch and then was off on my first safari. I came back to a delicious outdoor candlelit meal- and everything made for me was vegan the entire stay- it was all very delicious and big portions. I loved the location as it was close to the north entrance and block 1 and it is far less busy as the other entrance, so entering Yala National Park. was easy and quick. My guide Dhanu was enthusiastic, engaging and so much fun to be on safari with. We spotted a leopard and a 4 month old cub and it was magical. I learnt so much from him too! My room was very comfortable, it had everything I needed, and I loved the plunge pool for cooling down after safaris during the day and late night with having the pool lights on. I enjoyed speaking with who I think is the manager- he has a wealth of wisdom and has great stories. His passion for nature is inspiring. If you love nature, this is the place to stay, and your gateway to Yala National Park.

A wonderful and amazing place in the middle of Yala Nature Park!
Nature is close by, you can hear the elephant's stomping while you are in the restaurant and you can see crocodiles and water buffaloes on the shore of the lake. Lots of birds and other animals. A wonderful swimming pool, delicious food in the restaurant and very friendly and helpful staff. The bungalows are beautiful, clean and well equipped. A short trip to go on a Yala safari in the morning. You can take a breakfast box with you on safari. This accommodation was the most memorable of the entire three-week trip. We would love to come back here again! Thank you to the entire staff for a wonderful experience!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days in October 2023. The hotel is located in the Yala Nature Reserve on the ocean. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel staff. The general manager of Colonel proved to be an amazing person. He gave us a real celebration in honor of our wedding anniversary. It was funny and unforgettable. The hotel itself is not new, but it has everything you need. The rooms are large and colorful. All with ocean views, comfortable enough. Many thanks to the staff of the entire hotel for their hospitality and attention to our people.

Everything with Gems Garden was so amazing! Ruwan & Ishani is now our family away from home♥️♥️We have not met more loving and warm people, running this family business. We had the luxury to spend new years and my birthday with them, and they organized the best party! Except for the amazing family who runs it, Gems Garden is so beautiful! Our cabana was big, clean and comfortable and has a lovely porche. It is so close to the beach and loads of restaurants. We really hope to come back soon again♥️

This place is amasing in so many ways! Luxiry, great service, beautiful design, wilde life all around! Highly recomend to everyone. The pool area is modern and pretty. The air con rooms are pure treasure as dewign and comfort!!! The breakfast is fantastic! All staff is polite and smilling! Great value for the money. Super scenic beach, with extremly nice walk through dense tropical abunance, of trees,flowers, birds and more.

Our stay at Leopard Nest Yala was fantastic! The glamping tents were comfortable and beautifully designed, providing a perfect mix of luxury and nature. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, and the guided safari was well-organized, allowing us to see leopards, elephants, and more. The food was delicious, with local flavors that enhanced the experience. Highly recommend for a unique and unforgettable adventure!

Everything was perfect! The staff were friendly and helpful, always going the extra mile. The food was delicious, the drinks were well balanced and tasty! The design of the tents is absolutely beautiful! Our ranger, Buddi and driver, Laky were so knowledgeable and great. Shashika our cutest co-ordinator was lively and surprised us with an anniversary dinner at the beach.

It should be on everyone’s itinerary! The safari was amazing- go for the all day! And Jami Riverside Hotel is run by a wonderful host couple and the accommodations were comfortable, clean and affordable. They will make all the safari arrangements with the park for you if you wish. We had a wonderful driver -PHN Kasun Sampath.

This place is amazing.
This place is amazing. We stay with our 3 young kids and the staff were so kind and attentive. All of the small details have been thought of and it’s a wonderful experience in nature. Lovely local Sri Lankan are served for each meal.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend.
A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer.
We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble.
Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

Weerawila, located in a dry zone of Sri Lanka, is ideal for wildlife safaris and nature experiences. This location is especially convenient during the rainy season, as it often stays dry even when the rest of the country is experiencing thunderstorms. We chose it specifically to avoid heavy rains.

The White House Inn is a fantastic place to stay in Thissamaharama. It’s situated in a calm and natural setting, making it perfect for relaxation. The inn is also very close to the Yala National Park, which is great for those looking to go on safari.
The hotel is clean and comfortable, providing a welcoming atmosphere. The spacious lobby area is a nice spot to unwind. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, offering excellent service throughout our stay.
One of the highlights was the food. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and the Sri Lankan dishes were absolutely delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the White House Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Authentic family experience.
Authentic family experience. Two beaches, bird sanctuary and a fishery.
Small but beautiful temple. Big rocks for line fishing. Bird watching. Relaxing.
You can walk around the village, a couple of little shops. No restaurants as such. I had home cooked food from the main house.

The owners and staff were delightful - the service great. The cabannes were in the style of my travels 50 years ago and a great reminder of how simple life can (and should) be. For eating there is plenty of choice in the area and all easy walking but not always in 32 deg 😂

It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!
