Excellent environment, the garden, pool, dinning area are so well-maintained. We do not need any mosquito repellent in the property which is a big contrast in other boutique hotels/guesthouses in nearby area where we dined. The room is clean, spacious, simple yet stylist. Must join safari through the guesthouse, their connected driver is super professional and always took the best spots amongst all jeeps! Also very nice breakfast. We love everything from il Frangipane!

The big clean room and the great breakfast, the lovely swimming pool and the amazing view of the lion Rock. And the soursop juice is a must try. Sweet andq sour with aq hit of salty that is great for the wheather. Highly recommend! It is a very new hotel. All the facilities works well. Hot Water! Air conditioning and the pool. The pool is a real angel after a hiking or lion rock or a half day safari. It makes our stay very relexing. You can ask the hotel help on Safari booking which may be a slightly expensive than the street, however they got us a very expensive guide who has been working as a guide 10 yrs. We got to see a lot of elephants, peecocks, birds in just 3 hours. They almost always the first jeep to spot/trecking the elephants that makes us a great spots to get our photos.

Great place to stay! Perfectly located in the heart of Sigiriya and surrounded by nature. I stayed here from the 2nd to the 4th of July in a room with two double beds, a private bathroom, and a spacious garden outside. The property is immersed in greenery, so you’ll often spot wildlife such as lizards, squirrels, peacocks, birds and the owner’s friendly dog. It’s a truly peaceful setting. The owners are a lovely family with three young children, along with their grandparents who help around the property with the lovely dog. They were honestly the highlight of my stay such kind, welcoming people who made me feel at home. Their smiles and positive energy were unforgettable. I also had the pleasure of eating most of my meals here. The food is homemade, delicious, and full of flavour cooked by Chandikasamapath, i think this is how it is written! Such lovely person! She taught me some Sinhala words too! I’ve travelled across Sri Lanka, and this place with it is the best with it warm-hearted hosts who have been the highlight of this place! To the owners: please keep being who you are, kind, smiley, offering good vibes and helping into guiding people around the city and the country! You are the difference! Oyāṭa sthūthiyi!

This is by far the best place you can stay in Sigiriya! The cottage is amazing: huge rooms with everything you need. Amazing shower and lovely view of the garden. The restaurant service is also great: amazing food ! The Host was very friendly and welcoming and considerate of every needs!! Highly recommended!!

I had a wonderful stay at Water Garden Sigiriya. The traditional Sri Lankan meals were absolutely delicious and gave me a true taste of the local culture. The swimming pool was simply perfect for relaxing, and the view of Sigiriya Rock from the property was breathtaking. It created a serene and unforgettable atmosphere. A stunning location and a resort with a unique feel to it. We loved that the rooms are all tucked away among rice paddies, lily ponds, or open out onto the water body that teems with bird life, fish, and some crocs. We appreciated the nature-conscious philosophy of the hotel and their efforts to respect the wildlife of the area. The evening dining is very good, the rooms beautiful, spacious, and tasteful and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The heat is quite something so we really recommend the rooms with small plunge pools.

Fantastic stay, we decided to add an additional night we enjoyed ourselves so much. The hotel manager/owner? Nimal was superb, he made us feel welcome and was available 24/7. We had some issues with a scooter we rented and he came with his team to where we were stranded to resolve. The whole team went above and beyond for us. Out of all rge locations we stayed in Sri Lanka, the food here topped the list. Absolutely delicious and fresh from their garden, be sure to ask for a tour! A great place to end the trip

An amazing resort, into the jungle. We stayed in the wooden bungalow, which was a great experience. The staff really helpful in all our demands. The pool had a stunning view to Lion’s rock and Pidurangala. Great variety of food. We were on a honeymoon and they offered us a cake and some drinks. Will visit them again for sure. Keep up the great work.

I didn’t come to Sigiriya to explore the town itself, but...

I didn’t come to Sigiriya to explore the town itself, but purely for the iconic Sigiriya Rock—and it was absolutely worth it. The experience was incredible, with stunning views from the top. My friends and I climbed up for sunrise, which I highly recommend as the best time to go. Just be prepared: there are a lot of stairs—some carved directly into the rock, others metal and uneven. We visited in November just after the monsoon, so it was warm and the climb had us sweating buckets. If you plan on taking those perfect social-media photos, bring a spare T-shirt… or do what I did and let AI handle the magic! Although the ascent was tough and left us literally out of breath, the moment we reached the top made it all worth it. The views were truly breathtaking—quite fitting, since the climb already took my breath away.

A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree...

A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree view points. But if it rains it will ruin your plans. So make sure you depend on weatherly and visit Matale when it shows many continuous sunny days. Even on cloudy forecasts do not visit as all mointain tops then will be covered and you will not see the sights. when it is humid leaches also will be active and will become a painful experience.

Lions rock is great, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed for two nights in the end as we got to sigiriya late. This meant we ate dinner one night at the little hut which wass great, climbed the rock, then moved on to the habarana which was also interesting to wander and eat.

We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from Adam's Peak!) but instead chose the much shorter Pidurangala which afforded a fabulous view of Sigiriya. Highly recommended. A visit to the Bawa hotel, Heritance Kandalama, is well worth it as an insight into the brilliant architectural mind of Geoffrey Bawa.

Mainly there are 10-12 attractions in Matale. As I just stayed one day which was not sufficient to visit all the places. Among them where I went were also hampered due to the rain at time to time. Generally Matele was quit good tourist destination if it is planned well with couple of days.

The weather is very calm.

The weather is very calm. Recommended time to start climb is 5.45 AM. So worthy to watch the surroundings from top of the Sigiriya. You can learn a lot about Sigiriya. You can get a guide if you want from the entrance.

Dambulla is an excellent base for exploring Kandy,...

Dambulla is an excellent base for exploring Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya. We stayed there for 4 Nights and could cover the heritage sites easily. Dambulla Caves are a must-see and so is Sigiriya (just 16 Kms. away). Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are around an hours drive but Dambulla is much well-connected and less touristy.
