The location is great, right in between Mirissa and Ahangama. The rooms are well designed and always spotlessly clean and tidy. Enrico, is a great host. He always had time to explain and provide great advice on what to do, where to go and how to get there. He made me feel welcome and at home all the time. It’s true, not all heroes wear capes. This place is the best in weligama. It is located 5 minutes walk from the main point and the centre of weligama and it is quiet and peaceful. You can get the getaway from the noise and still be very close to all that is good in weligama. The staff is super warm and welcoming and the rooms are spotless clean. We came to weligama mainly to surf and it was perfect for us. The hotel is located right on the beach but does not have a private beach but it is no problem as you can have so many beaches right next to it

We stayed here for 2 nights. Everything is new. We had a big, clean and comfortable room. The staff was really friendly to us and tried to make our stay as comfortable as it could be. The communication is running via WhatsApp. So no phones in the room. This is running perfectly. Whenever you you want something just write and they respond immediately. We highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Welligama.

Absolutely amazing. The room was clean and spacious, very comfortable bed. We loved the pool after long trip from Colombo. Great fruit plate and tea for breakfast. Staff was very helpful. Surrounding is weird but this place is like hidden gem. Recommended!

I had an amazing stay here at River Post Co-Working & Co-Living Weligama. The room was very clean, I was able to check in early, they have an AMAZING massage therapist based on site, the location is right beside the river with a great view, and the host Manoj is very welcoming. There is also free parking and an in-house breakfast is available. I would highly recommend this place for an affordable and relaxing visit to Weligama! 😊

Absolutely the Best Way to Explore the Sinharaja Rainforest! This was our favourite place we stayed on Sri Lanka trip. This eco-lodge is hands down the ultimate way to experience the magic of the Sinharaja Rainforest. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear you’re in for something extraordinary. The location is beyond words—completely surrounded by lush rainforests, making you feel truly immersed in nature. It is so peaceful and quite - no noise from roads, traffic etc. The staff made our entire stay seamless and stress-free. They have a convenient car park in the nearby village, where they meet you and transfer you up to the lodge in a 4x4—what a fun start to the adventure! We stayed for two nights (but would have happily stayed a 3rd). The accommodation is spectacular. Large windows on every side of the room allow you to feel like you’re right in the heart of the jungle. Waking up to the incredible sounds of the rainforest was unforgettable, and we even spotted monkeys and exotic birds right in our room! Amazingly, you also get wifi in your room. The staff were outstanding, from the friendly restaurant team to the knowledgeable guides. On arrival, the Duty Manager, Mithun, warmly welcomed us, explained all the details about meal times, and helped us plan treks into the rainforest. They offer a variety of treks and provide you with a guide. They are also pretty flexible, We wanted a longer trek to explore more of the jungle and this wasn't a problem. The trek itself was a dream. We spotted an incredible variety of wildlife, including lizards, snakes, and a stunning array of Sri Lankan birds. The guides were so knowledgeable and enhanced the experience. Overall, this was incredible value for money. Running such a well-maintained eco-lodge in the middle of the rainforest can’t be easy, yet they make it feel effortless. If you’re looking for great value for money and an unforgettable way to explore Sinharaja, this is absolutely it.

This is an amazing place to start hikes into the rainforest from. The cabanas are in a very good state, I even had a balcony facing the pool. The pool is clean and I enjoyed swimming in it! Bathroom with plenty of space, hot water, very clean! The host is very friendly, hospitable and relaxed. He gave me lots of information, helped with arrival and departure. Thank you so much! At the mederipitiya bus stand (where you arrive closest to the place) there are tuktuk drivers fishing for guests. Two of my friends who wanted to stay at Forest Gate as well were tricked into staying at a different place (forest edge) and into paying upfront. So that when they realised they are in a different place they already payed. Even by showing the booking the hosts there didnt say a word... I guess this is also why this place has bad reviews that I cannot comprehend.

The very quiet Gardens, the lovely breakfasts, beautiful empty beach, lovely pool and courteous attentive staff. We had a gorgeous room with an out door,roll top bath. If you're looking for a quiet beach, this will hit the spot. The waves are strong so probably best for confident swimmers though you won't have to be an Olympian! The main house is also gorgeous with an airy colonial vibe. Evening meals can be taken at the beach restaurant over the road ( not a busy road). The place is gated with a 24hour watch for the security minded. Various swings, hammocks and board games dotted around. Peacocks, bee-eaters, monitor lizards and chipmunks abound. Heard a Coppersmith Barbet but didn't see it. Fruit bats fly over at sunset. Heaven!

Mandara Resort Mirissa, just remember this name for the best hotel in Mirissa. we have stayed at this hotel for two days. Stepping through the lobby, i was immediately struck by the beautiful beach. very welcoming atmosphere. The staff throughout the hotel were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful. one of waiter Ravindu Sasaranga was the Favorited. They always greeting and smiling to us. The breakfasts and dinner were amazing. The location of the hotel is great. The room was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials and fantastic view. we have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to the tourists who want to go to Southern part of Sri Lanka. Will be back to this place..!!!

The hotel is located in most beautiful place we've visited in Sri Lanka! Two beautiful beaches and a very nice territory (the pool, big chess, ping pong, the bar area and and nice walking paths). The staff is lovely, they were always there for us and made us feel like home. Good choices for breakfast and dinner, our kids are picky eaters but always found something to eat and the ice cream in the dinner buffet was always a hit. The room is really spacious, clean and beautiful and the sea view was fantastic. Would love to visit again!

Very beautiful and peaceful place to stay, nice garden and pool where you can really swim. Beach, Restaurants, Bars, ATM, scubadiving in walking distance. The staff is very nice and helpfull if there is something to organise or if something needed to be fixed up. Bungalow: The bed was really comfortable and the outdoor-bathroom is fantastic. There is also a comfy, quiet terace in front of the bungalow.

Absolutely amazing!! The best place to stay in Sri Lanka! The communication even before arrival was great! They were flexible and helped us with our requests. The lady in the reception was very kind, friendly and helpful. The views from the room and from any part of the property are beautiful. The sun beds are kept well and there is also a swing. Mirissa in my opinion has a completely different vibe to the other beach areas I stayed at being Hiriketiyah and Unawatuna. While it does have attractions like Coconut Hill, it lacks the intimacy, character and ambience of the above mentioned beach areas and for that reason I would advise a shorter stay to experience Mirissa. One night was adequate for me.

Matara isn't a big town so it is relatively quick to get from A to B. The beach is beautiful. But there aren't that many restaurants in in the town. The Matara Rest House near the fort had good food and drinks and is one of the most worth it dining options nearby. Lemon is also a good option. There are restaurants closer to the touristy spots but those are on the pricier side. snorkeling with turtles is popular in Matara.

The beach gets busy but you get the enjoy your swim and suf session despite the crowd. Since the beach is abit narrow you feel alot of people but mostly they are there to chill just like you. Wonderful atmosphere.

Lovely quiet beach -large - next to its much smaller and busier little sister Hiriketiya You can have the best of both worlds if you stay in Dikwella as it is only a km walk ( pleasant ) to Hiriketiya Sunbeds are free if you if you buy a drink We particularly liked Freedom Place at far end by the trees

Midigama is a great little surf culture town, good food, beaches and surf awesome Ate at the Corner, Cafe Pleasure, Surfing Wombats, Mamas Restaraunt, Gg Francis Seafood , Lazy Right Restaraunt, got fresh pastries of the little Nakery Tuk Tuk Truck, Coconuts and Cold Beers on the beach from Smiley , had a awesome time

The food was possibly the best that we had throughout Sri Lanka. the accommodation was lovely - roomy, great view, good beds, mosquito nets, cool feature such as an outside shower. the staff were so lovely and helpful. Really great stay.

Talalla beach is clean and not crowded like many on the...

Talalla beach is clean and not crowded like many on the South coast of Sri Lanka. Relax all day under the sun and take a dip in to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Not really a surfing beach but the right hand end in front of Talalla Retreat is safe for swimming. Friendly locals and a small supermarket nearby. Ate at all the local restaurants - they were all excellent, especially Manju Cinnamon Hut.

The hotel management are not good to deal with and I would not recommend this place at all. It looks pretty on the outside but full of problems and poor design, unsafe and unhygienic aspects that are a major concern. Hiring hot water shower that has no safety option even when it is not on high hot water setting, it can burn. The deluxe room we were offered has no windows at all and a dingy hole with no natural light or ventilation but advertised as having an outdoor dining room. It is falsely advertised to mislead people an we refused to stay in the room and had a mattress in the sea view room for which they charged us half the room rate when we didn’t even have a ton, just a mattress an they failed to even provide a towel. Their service is horrendous - stay away from this place and don’t be misled by the pretty photos like we’re. Even beach there not safe to swim and too far from Mirissa main beach so there is really nothing going for this place except the superficial looks.
